Whatever happened to coitus?

I'll never understand the panic the last few weeks, nor do I understand any relief today in regards to Frank Martin's contract.  Nothing has changed in terms of the likely hood that he is staying or going after next year...or after this season for that matter.  Quite possibly the biggest non-issue talking point in board history.

Next year's rotation/line-up.

Interested in takes on how style/pace/strengths change without Clems.  Been organizing talking points for future off-season threads in this regard.

Biggest offseason question mark: transition offense.

Sometimes you forget what a great poster Dax can be when he isn't talking about KU.  Just hate that we have to go through such long stretches to see it.

I'd say Fred Brown wouldn't have been recruited if not for his 40% plus shooting.

And yet it didn't save him from being pushed out

True.  But niether did Buchi's explosive leaping ability...and it's not like Energy is athletic.  The true issue that created the "Frank hates shooters" myth (aside from Rusty's influence) is the only quality that Frank displays that is "high school coachish": his annoying habit of playing "hard workers" over talent in the role player minutes.  But how do you argue with results?  If Judge and McGruder got all CM and Colons minutes would we be better?  It would seem so logically, but he's pretty much exceeded anyones expectations with an IQ over 80.  Kinda takes the fun out of arguements like this.

If I could change one of Frank's Frankisms it would be his absolute hatred of shooters

This is a KSUFans/goEMAW myth.  Stems from Rusty who gets irritated when Frank won't recruit some unatheletic driveway shooter he gets a crush on.

wouldn't be the biggest Cinderella of all time, but yeah i think we lack the "pros" you would find on most NCAA frontrunners.

SD, were you the fake SPC?   :dunno:

All white 2's for the KU game!!!!!!!!!

I think he is indicating that all of KU's 2 guards are white guys.

Fantastic.

This is almost exactly the way things were before Huggins left.

wtf are you talking about?

There's one in Wichita too.  My in-laws are ga-ga for it.  It's OK I guess.  Farmhouse food.  Great atmosphere though (much better than either KC location)

Was Texas really that over-rated earlier this year?  They look really uncomfortable against OU down 17-9 with 13:13 in the 1st.

Yes

They aren't even going to make the tournament.

No

Somebody going to create www.firedalontehill.com?  That seat should get pretty hot if he doesn't pull in some elite 11's this summer.

NYCHoops ranked Southwell #4 player in NYC.  Has a write-up/eval included.  Would love to know what it says.   :users:

Aside from this total choke job by Wall, I just don't get the hype.  When I see him, I never find myself thinking, "OMG, this is one of the best guards I've ever seen."

Who was the last college player to make you think that?

This was PM'd to me...

Had a chance to ref Semi Ojeleye on thursday and all I can say is WOW! This kid is a freshman who WILL BE a top 15 national player. He has a completely different set of skill level than Victor. They probably had six dunks in the game on Alley opp passes and breakaways. Tough defender and tremendous strength. Mid range jumper and unbelievable ups. Ottawa also has a kid who is going to Barton next year. He had five 3's and could score at will. IF they don't win 4A I will be shocked. They have a complete team with guard play as well. The Barton kid had four dunks and Semi had two. Talked to some people who said that Semi will probably stay at least one more year at Ottawa. But they didn't know for sure. That was their opinion not one of the coaching staff. Nothing concrete. I know Frank and staff probably have the fullcourt press on him now. We have to get this kid. WE should have the inside track I would think. I sat by Semi and his mom at the IUPUI game and had a good convo with them after the game. They seem to really love KSU. This is one kid I wouldn't mind offering as a Soph!

Is the evaluator credible?  Prone to hyperbole?

Look for Kelly to foul out the next three games trying to block every shot.  Thanks bignouth Kellis.

What highlights there were Thursday began with Martin. The 6-8 freshman led the Cats with 21 points on 8-of-18 shooting and showed some nice hops inside.

so we're giving up?  I am fine w/ this, BTW.

i don't know.  i would, though.

I think it shows they're learning if they gave up.

Don't think he was ever a priority in the first place.

meh...we could just attach rope swings from the rafters and sell tix for those seats.  We have to use those remote controlled helicopters to bring concessions up during the games, and require those patrons to wear diapers, but it'd work.

assuming this is a sock, the russell to cop line is really good.

For some reason, my fav was Sutton to coaching... :dunno:

Bad news:  No chest ripping metal hunk tore through his sternum when they flipped on the MRI machine
Good news:  Torn ACL.  Not what I was hoping for but I'll take it

Damn really?  Seemed to be walking on it pretty good.

Not uncommon.
