32.    Kansas State University            $68,875,266    31.44%    51

Keep up that rate of growth and it is only 5 years until we break $200,000,000 in annual revenue.  :gocho:

Gotta think div's would go east/west rather than north/south...

And I bet we would still end up in a North/East division with KU, ISU, Louisville, WVU, and Rutgers.

Per some WVU board via the Shag

I was told Louisville and Rutgers have been approached

Their lawyers and Big 12 lawyers drafting working agreement!

No word on WVU exit as my guy has no information. He was told it's a separate issue.

Word is Big 12 contract will be finalized before NCAA bb tourney.

Louisville  :driving:

Rutgers :flush:

Are all kids under 14 in nebraska forced to have a mohawk?

Or a mullet.  You have to choose.

Actually, you also have the choice of a bowl cut or military buzz cut (with or with rat tail).

Really wished I had an Allstate insurance policy right now, so I could call up and cancel the policy in the morning.

The technical term for "Hale Librayish" is Richardsonian Romanesque for those HAIQ types.

I will be watching the game in Vegas.  Who/what should I put money on?  Where should I watch us trounce Texas Tech?  Staying at Planet Hollywood but have never been to their sports book.  What's "the best"?   :D

I have been to quite a few of the sports books, can't remember ever going to the one in PH.

Close to PH
Bellagio: nothing special, but they are good with the free drinks (at least they were last time I was there)
Caesar's:  very meh
Aria:  Nice, but kind of small for such a large casino

Palazzo/Lagasse's Stadium:  Probably the nicest sports book, a bit of a hike from PH

Explain why not?

Because the State of Missouri is not within the geographic footprint of the B12 conference.  It really doesn't get any simpler than that.

Name a single Conference Championship that is played in a State outside of the Conference, and I'll promptly shut the hell up.  Otherwise, stop posting in this thread.

The West Coast Conference plays its conference tournament in Las Vegas, but that is a conference of basketball teams that play in gyms comparable to large high schools (excluding BYU).

Fat kid, moved to Lincoln from Scott's Bluff.  Has curly locks under backwards grungy Nubb hat.  Drives black 1999 Grand Prix which is perpetually caked in dust.  Has key chain necklace thing hanging out of pocket of tan cargo shorts.  White eminem adidas shoes (no socks).

 :ohno:

Wife is from Alliance.
I know the type  :barf:

Pretty much spot on description from my experience (and having actually lived in Scottsbluff back in the day).  Switch out Grand Prix with tan GMC Jimmy, and make it girlfriend from Alliance and you have one of my buddies from high school.

Also, why does everyone always eff up spelling Scottsbluff?  Scottsbluff =city  Scotts Bluff = county/landmark  Scott's Bluff = a bluff made by a guy named Scott

Scottsbluff?

Isn't it against the rules to have 5 consonants in a row?

Blame it on the stupid Gering newspaper for being lazy/running out of capital B's and making a single word back when the city incorperated (at least that's the story I was told)

Well, looks like we will have to wait until next year for the conference to blow up.

The Big 12 athletics directors met in Dallas and discussed content distributed on existing and future institutional and conference media platforms.

In previous discussions the Big 12 ADs unanimously agreed that no high school content would be distributed, consistent with NCAA rules. Today, the ADs of the Big 12 Conference unanimously agreed to establish a minimum one-year moratorium on the broadcast of any high school content (or any other content involving prospective student-athletes) via any medium branded as a Conference or member institution platform (and no use will be permitted thereafter unless and until the NCAA determines that such use is permissible). In addition, the ADs recommend the Big 12 Board of Directors strongly request the NCAA Board of Directors establish a national moratorium for a minimum of one year in order for the entire NCAA membership to determine whether such use should be permissible under NCAA regulations. The ADs recognize that this issue is complex and involves a detailed analysis of the recruiting model in many areas, including existing NCAA legislation related to the publicity of prospective student-athletes and the rapidly evolving world of technology. This process will take an extended period of analysis. The Conference will continue to monitor the broadcasting of youth athletics content.

In addition, the ADs learned and acknowledged that there may be contractual opportunities that allow more than one football game to be broadcast on institutions' branded networks. That game could be a Conference matchup. In these instances both member institutions and the Conference office must agree to the selection. Such games would result in additional financial and exposure opportunities for the rest of the membership.

All actions by Conference athletics directors are subject to Big 12 Conference Board of Directors approval.

Equal revenue shares for Big 12 Fox Deal

Quote
One of the most noteworthy decisions by the league ADs was to equally distribute nearly $1 billion in revenues to be generated over the life of a 13-year conference partnership with Fox Sports for second-tier football television rights.

That decision is in stark contrast to how most television revenue was divided in prior years.  Prior to this decision, the majority of television revenue was provided to the schools that appeared on the actual telecasts.

As a result of this decision, the Big 12 will now share its overall revenue more equally than any time in its history– clearly a sign that the 10 institutions are committed to the “new Big 12”.

http://www.cyclones.com/ViewArticle.dbml?DB_OEM_ID=10700&ATCLID=204975607

I think this is more symbolic than anything.  With pretty much all conference games guaranteed to be on Fox Sports or FX in the new contract, the revenue from that deal would have been split pretty evenly to begin with.

Was pretty shocked we didn't make the list.

Another 3-5 years of what we have, and we won't have such luxury.

They seem to have put a lot of weight on conference championships won this century.  Barring a complete collapse (or hiring Sean) we should be good for more like 5-10 years before we start making these sort of lists.

The PAC-12 has their new media deal.

The Associated Press also cited those figures, which works out to $225 million per year, surpassing the current $220 million received by the Big Ten. The deal is expected to announced Wednesday.

Looks like the AAU is cleaning house.  Syracuse is also leaving http://chronicle.com/article/Syracuse-U-Facing-a-Forced/127363/, but at least the have the good sense to leave of their own before being kicked out.  I'm guessing stories like these will keep coming out until AAU membership is down to 50 schools.

The Big Ten announced Sunday that it will no longer actively pursue expansion after a 12-month study period.

The league's Council of Presidents/Chancellors agreed at its winter meeting to end the expansion study, which was announced last December and scheduled for 12-to-18 months. The Big Ten added Nebraska as its 12th member on June 11, marking the league's first expansion in two decades.

"We have been thoroughly engaged in the process since last December," said Indiana University president Michael McRobbie, the chair of the Big Ten's Council of Presidents/Chancellors. "Following detailed discussions at today's meeting, my colleagues and I can report that we believe that this process has reached its natural conclusion. We are pleased with the addition of Nebraska and look forward to working with our colleagues there in the years ahead."

In a statement, the Big Ten said it will monitor the landscape in college sports but "will not be actively engaged in conference expansion for the foreseeable future and does not expect to be proactively seeking new members."
