It was a really strange call, especially for Snyder.  ISU didn't exactly defend it great, but the ISU player coming off the edge to block forced Doerr inside and made it tough to get off the pitch.  We did have numbers to get the first down if Doerr had been able to pitch to Cherry.

And no, there was likely no "set up a play later" reason for the call.  We just thought it would work and it didn't.

Thanks for the thoughtful responses, you could accuse Bill of a lot of things but a LFIQ isn't one of those things, I was just wondering if there was a plausible explanation for such a play call.

Yes it was a seemingly stupid call but - is it just possible there was a devious reason for calling the exact play again so soon.  Does anyone else think Bill has a wrinkle on the formation that will allow a pass to someone like Andre the Giant next time instead of a pitch to Cantelle the Soccer King?

 Maybe it was mysterious to Mandel but many folks looked at the schedule and predicted very much of what happened.

Nobody has to pay tuition at Harvard any longer.  If you are accepted, the tuition is paid.  Same at some other schools that have fat endowments, Stanford for example.  Stanford does have some family income restrictions though.

Could be 1000 things, but the bottomline is . . .  Snyder can't land QB's, and hasn't landed anyone of significance at that position since Roberson/Dunn.

All the more reason why he can't be here in 3 years if we're 10-14 over the next 2 seasons.

I can envision that it might be a thousand things, was just wondering if a few specific things changed since 2003.

Insidery EMAW elite posters correctly opined that OB would whiff once again.   Is it just the sucky recruiting talent assistants or is it something more complicated, ie his handling of QB's in the past, emphasis on playbook over athleticism.  Not naming names but some elite posters on here seem to work in the AD of KSU or at least seem to know where the bodies are buried if not employed by the AD, please share your opinions.

Wouldn't being "proactive" also be in violation of NCAA rules?
