Basically, fighter jets might not ever even see each other before someone is dead. Jet wash? Flat spin? Goose smashing into the canopy? All not feasible.

Many of the Commie troops came in through planes disguised as commercial airliners IIRC. Our satellites should have seen all the increased troop movement though so yeah, huge hole confirmed.

Field of Dreams was on HBO the other night and I hate to be the guy to blow a hole in a great movie like this, but here goes.
Let's say for a baseball field with a little bit of foul ground you would need a square about 400 x 400 feet. That's 160000 square feet. There are 43560 sq ft/acre so thats approx 3.7 acres cut out of his corn field.
Here's where I need some of you farm humps to help me out since I don't know jack about farming. Interwebz research says there's approx 150 bushels of corn yielded per acre....saw a range of estimates but 150 was the number that came up the most. Current corn price in Iowa is $4.74 per bushel taking the average of the 6 regions listed on iowaagriculture.gov website. This looks to be higher than what Kansas is paying for corn
3.7 acres x 150 bushels/per acre = 555 bushels. 555 bushels x $4.74 = $2630.70
So, the annual loss of $2630.70 of corn revenue was going to cause him to lose his entire farm? Was the cost of constructing the field that high?
Added to that is the fact that Corn prices are high right now, and might have actually been poop at the time this movie was supposed to have taken place.

the more you think about previous years under snyder, the more you start realizing how many wasted plays and sometimes games (and sometimes years) he spent starting the inferior qb. it's really pretty disturbing.It feels more like @ MU in 2010 (MU 38 KSU 28). Klein comes in and runs over MU then bill gives the ball back to carson to fumble at the goal line.

As I enter the gates of Darren K Royal on Saturday, I will mark history (for myself). While being in attendance, this will mark the last school of the original Big 12 (plus TCU) that I have attended as a roadie. At the age of 29, will take! I'm super excited for this personal endeavor you guys. You might not be a fan of the fan man, but if you're a fan of sports, that's pretty cool.
Unsportsmanlike conduct in Seattle
Was anyone else appalled by the unsportsmanlike conduct of the Seattle Seahawks and their fans, juiced on noise, which surely creates as big an advantage over an opponent as any performance enhancing drug and which, to their shame, NFL officials turn the same blind eye they have to concussions and drugs ("Seattle states case loudly, clearly in rout," Sports, Sept. 16)?
It would be simple to fix. Seahawks players and managers would ask their fans to cease and desist, and the NFL would implement a new rule: The visiting team may stop the game when fan noise is greater than a specified decibel level, and should this rule be violated in more than three games, no home games will be played at the offending field for the rest of the season, including playoff games. Things would quiet down.
At a time when the world seems sour, sports give us a place of joy, community and hope, and to have it spoiled is a bigger loss than it seems on the surface.

The neon markers are more expensive or I would have ordered them for everyone b/c they are super cool and fun. I will not order more for now so you guys will just have to miss out on the fun neon boards because someone stole your cool markers to hoard them for themselves (selfish). We are all adults. Silently return the markers and there will be no serious punishment.
