UTSA will likely be a conference opponent for KSU in 2014

Why would the MWC want UTSA when K-State is knocking at their door?

How hard can it be to become a citizen?

no citizens in the immediate family, not marrying a citizen, no special skills, not rich, not born in the u.s.; it's pretty hard.  not quite impossible, but pretty damn hard.

You just have to win a lottery, so it's not really hard, just unlikely. :peek:

You should get a prenup and start saving money for the divorce accordingly, in an account she doesn't know about. It's best to be prepared for these things so that you don't end up in some trailer. ;)

Congratulations, by the way.

It's awesome that we get them their first year as a D1 team. They will likely be the worst team in the country.

You remember Fl. Atlantic their first year  :ohno:

Hard to forget a beat down like that. :gocho:

It would be awesome if people boycott the suns for protesting this bill.

I lean toward libertarianism, fwiw.

You have to realize that about 50% of Americans, regardless of political party, are completely Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!) (The average adult American can only read at a 5th grade level). So, I would bet that a lot of democrats are saying that they like it and republicans are saying that they don't because they are confusing it with "liberalism."

Dax, of course Pakistan is the most likely country for terrorists to secure nukes. Very unstable situation over there. What do you propose we do about it, though? Just march in and take them? Good luck with that.

None of this changes the fact that Iran with nukes would be just as much of a disaster as Pakistan with nukes.

37885
Think about what you're saying.

You live in a country that has over 5000 nukes, and that has been in more wars in the last 60 years around the world than any other country.

Let's review the last 21 years.  Invaded Panama, First Gulf War, Bombed Yugoslavia for 78 straight days, invaded Iraq, Invaded Afghanistan and are currently conducting military combat operations in at last 4 other countries that we know of . . .

A country that has used Nuclear Weapons once, and seriously discussed using them in Korea and Vietnam.  In addition, we had a president who contemplated introducing one of the most powerful weapons of aggression in the world in the Neutron Bomb.  OH but it was a stop gap measure to stop those hordes of Russian Tanks . . . horse$hit, it was the ultimate weapon of aggression, low yield, kill the people but don't blow up the buildings and then move in and take over.

Now, we are telling a country surrounded by Nuclear Powers, that it can't have Nuclear Weapons.

All you have pointed out is what a burden to be the worlds police force, and we've done it without using nukes since 1945, even though we have thousands. Amanutjob has already said he will use his ASAP and needs to be taken out Jack Bauer style.

You do realize that Team America World Police was a satire, right?

Pretty sure it was based on a true story though.

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / Re: Calipari
« on: May 04, 2010, 07:04:55 PM »
Too bad his recruits don't have special clauses in their letters of intent to Kentucky allowing them to follow Coach Cal to the NBA. They'll probably just decommit and go to the sleaziest coach with a hairpiece available.

37887
I'm split on this issue. On one hand Iran is surrounded by nuclear powers, and on the other their leaders are f*cking crazy. So idk  :dunno:

I agree. I don't have a problem with a country developing nukes for self defense, unless that country is unstable. An even bigger worry than Ahmadinejad getting nukes is who will end up with these nukes when he inevitably gets overthrown? We really don't want Al Qaeda to have nuclear missiles.

Excellent Point KK.

He can create the biggest athletic budget ever, even with the Big 12's 3rd lowest TV revenue payouts.

They can play for Big 12 titles and rule the league.   There are at least 4 SEC schools that will spend between $85 and $105 million dollar on athletics this year.  In the Big 12 there might be 1 other school that spends over $80 million and that's OU.   Texas A&M has major money problems and has to slash budget and staff.

But what if Nebraska left and Texas all of a sudden had to start sharing some of that money with the rest of the league? Do you still think Texas would like the arrangement?

37890
That slogan is going to look sweet on t-shirts..  Maybe with little bulleyes on a buffalo and a cyclone?

They should have Gill riding a cyclone while roping a buffalo.

I can't really see UT leaving for the SEC. Or CU leaving for Pac 10. I could be wrong, hope I'm not.

What I see as a most likely scenario-

Utah
BYU
KSU
KSU
ISU
CU

UT
OU
OSU
TTech
Baylor
A&M

If this doesn't happen, I see KSU, KU, Tech, and OSU joining the BCS MWC. Either of which I'd take. Would be amazing to get to see KSU at Air Force.

I think that the south will stay intact at least for a while if NU does not leave. If NU were to leave, then we would not be able to find anyone to vote against revenue sharing, and Texas would immediately start whoring itself out, and most of the south would leave with them. This is why it is important that we try to convince NU that leaving is in their best interest, just like we convinced KU fans that Mangino was a sh!tty coach. Our mountain road trips and BCS bowl game hopes depend on it.

37892
Raise your hand if you would rather move to the Mt. West than continue in the exact same Big 12 we have now

37893
It just seems more likely that we poach some of t he bigger MWC type teams and remain the Big 8/12/16.  Generally the big fish eat the small fish, not vice versa.  Adding a TCU, CSU, Utah, Louisville, etc would make more sense than the MWC becoming a BCS.

The New Big 12:

K-State
KU
ISU
Baylor
Tech
BYU
Utah
CSU
Louisville
Memphis
TCU
Some other crappy team? Maybe Houston or LA Tech?

This conference would just suck. I would much rather just implode the Big 12 and move on to the Mtn. West. The only other good alternative would be to form a brand new Big 8 with no affiliation to the Big 12 that includes
K-State
KU
Tech
BYU
Utah
Louisville
Memphis
TCU

This would mean less tv sets, but less teams to split them between as well. We would also have a solid shot at BCS standing as nobody is really terrible except for Memphis football.

37894
So, the storied Big 8/12 is replaced in the BCS by the freaking MWC?  I just can't imagine that happening.

As long as we're a part of the MWC when it happens, this would be much better for K-State than the status quo.

37895
Most of you guys are thinking about this all wrong. We are not going to see less BCS games, and I doubt the BCS will drop the number of conferences with automatic bids. So the best case scenario is Missouri and Nebraska to the Big 10, Texas, A&M, OU, and OSU to the SEC, CU to the PAC 10, and KSU, KU, and Tech to the Mountain West. The Mountain West would become a BCS conference to replace the automatic bid vacated by the former Big 12. This would allow us to take conference road trips to San Diego, Fort Collins, and Salt Lake City, as well as play in BCS bowl games more often than not.

...and Iowa Sate and Baylor, plus pull two others (Boise State and Fresno State????) to make the Mountain West a 16 team super conference that is (cough, cough) worthy of inclusion in the BCS.

Ya, I'd take that versus just being in a regular mid-major.

I still think that there is a small chance we stay in the Big 12, and it actually expands to 16 in a similar fashion....buy adding a couple former Big East teams and a few mid-majors.

Who do you think I have speak with to get _Fan's Doom shirts put on here?

http://mwcstore.teamfanshop.com/Default.aspx/source/MWC-032610Spring-300

Would we even need those other schools? If anything, Iowa State and Baylor might make the conference less BCS-worthy from a competitive standpoint, and the mountain west is already very close to becoming a BCS conference as is. Plus, I hate Baylor and would love to ditch those losers. Iowa State would have insane travel costs and might not want to join just because of that.

So Pike, how deep does this conspiracy run? Was it just the Bush administration, or was congress involved as well? Any military involvement? Do you have any names other than Bush and any evidence not in the form of a question?

37898
I would call it sexual assault. It would probably be more effective and humane to just hook this guy up to a car battery than to use him to mop up his own feces. :dunno: :barf:

Seriously, you should be sterilized as part of the process of picking up your ticket to this.

That would be totally pointless. You could inject this crowd with super sperm that guaranteed pregnancy every time they have sex and the average attendant would only have about .003 kids.
