These dudes are taking the loss pretty hard.  There's lots of "we were the better team, I don't know why we lost!" type quotes.  Feel free to post your favorites.  Here's a pretty nice meltdown post

f**k silver linings. I am so sick of silver linings because they are nothing but bulls**t. We sucked, we lost, and now we are possibly looking at a 5-7 season.

Silver linings can go screw themselves. Winners don't focus on silver linings. Winners find a way to succeed despite the odds.

Essentially Flyertalk / MHK Hiking?
« on: September 14, 2011, 10:43:41 PM »
It's a good time of year to go hiking so I wanted to see if anybody knew of some good places around Manhattan?  Here's what I know...

- I've been on most of the maintained trails around Tuttle Creek.  They are nice for a scenic walk, but I haven't found any that came close to challenging.
- Fancy Creek by Randolph is great, but I'm looking for something within 5 miles as an alternative.
- Konza is a nice walk, but too maintained and they don't allow dogs.
- The Marlatt Park and trails around "Top of the world" are pretty nice.  There's some decent hills to climb and good views, but it's a little too busy for my tastes.

I'm thinking there has to be some better options that I don't know about.

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / Any other section 18'ers?
« on: September 09, 2011, 04:35:03 PM »
I had been sitting in section 4, but I never really liked sitting with the tucks and with the huge price increase I decided to request a switch.

They called me yesterday and said I could pick a new location.  I only live a few minutes away so I always go up there and sit in all of the open seats.  I ended up picking a couple in the first row of section 18.  I know section 17 has a strong goEMAW presence, and if I remember right I'll be close to "hard hat guy" so hopefully I'll be able to let the obscenities fly like the old days.

I'd like to hang a cuban flag or something similar over the railing but I think there will be people sitting in front of it so that might not work.  Can anyone confirm?

One of the few bright spots for me tonight even though that was to be expected.

He hits unbelievably hard even when it doesn't look like he has the space or angle to do it..  Also seemed to adjust well and did a nice job with his reads.

I realize this is a  :powerespect: thread, but I didn't see him being talked about much and I'm pumped to see him injure student athletes that don't play for Kansas State University.  Too bad he's a life preserver trying to hold up a sinking ship.

 :flush:

The tucks are absolutely loving it though.  Just a reminder of how the old administration was able to get away with so much.

Anybody want em? I live close to the stadium.

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / Bill Walker - NY JYC

-- Toughness has not been a Knicks trait in years. Yesterday, the Knicks, after breaking their six-game losing streak in Sacramento, were feeling feisty at practice as a skirmish broke out between Bill Walker and Shawne Williams.

Williams was driving to the basket when Walker took him down hard. Williams, who has yet to play this season after making the team as 15th man, shot up from the floor and lunged at Walker, shouting at him about the dirty play. Teammates separated the two players, but Williams kept carrying on, trying to break free to get at Walker. Even Eddy Curry had to restrain the ranting Williams.

It was a bizarre scene the way Williams carried on. Williams, the former Pacers first-round bust who beat out Patrick Ewing Jr. for the final roster spot and has marijuana arrests on his resume, appears itching to play.

With the Knicks shooting poorly from 3-point range (32.5 percent), the coaching staff believes Williams may be their most proficient deep shooter in practice. (Sorry, Danilo Gallinari.)

Walker stands in Williams' way. Walker has been a reserve, but coach Mike D'Antoni has dabbled with yanking him from the rotation. If the Knicks falter from the 3-point stripe, Williams could get his chance. The coaches seemed unfazed by the near fisticuffs.

Have the increases to the Ahearn Fund donations required for premium seating been discussed?  I just got my 2011 renewal info in the mail today and realized the b-ball donation levels had increased quite a bit.

They don't have the updated info on ahearnfund.com so if people want me to post a picture let me know.

Essentially Flyertalk / Purple Manhattan Sign

Has anybody seen the Manhattan Hill sign lately?  Went to the white trashy wal-mart earlier and noticed it was half purple.  The purple half might as well be camouflage, who's kstateo idea was this?

Not sure how long it's been like that, but I got row 4 both nights.

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / Ticket Renewals
« on: July 21, 2010, 12:42:50 PM »
So how much did tickets actually go up?   :dunno:

My chairbacks were $495 a piece to renew but I can't remember how much they were last year.

Parking pass was $85 and I think it was $75 last year.

Essentially Flyertalk / Best Barber In Manhattan
« on: July 07, 2010, 12:31:30 AM »
I'm looking for a new barber here in town and wanted some suggestions.  I've heard Campus Hairstyling and Wildcat Barber Shop are good but I'm not sure who to ask for there.

My haircut is about as simple as it gets but it's really surprising how badly people can screw it up.

My yard looks like crap. Anybody know a good company in Manhattan that could help me make my yard not look like crap?  :dunno:

Needs aerated, fertilized, overseeded, and maybe more.

Getting a german shepherd was a good choice, but my grass would disagree.
