My boss is a K-State Hating Townie and I would gladly sacrifice him into the inferno if it meant we didn't have deal with over-compliance and self-deprecating bull crap. The problem is if you kill one, another pops up to take his place... I blame the "small time" nature of the majority of our fans.

Funny, just had to sign this to chime-in here:

"You agree, through your use of this forum, that you will not post any material which is false, defamatory, inaccurate, abusive, vulgar, hateful, harassing, obscene, profane, sexually oriented, threatening, invasive of a person's privacy, adult material, or otherwise in violation of any International or United States Federal law."

The funny thing about this is all of the glaring inaccuracies about this issue that have been posted here.  But I don't expect any of you to know anything since none of you are actually a decision-maker or member of any of the organizations and entities you are criticizing.

The wisdom of the room here would seem to be summarized as "hey, why can't everyone just leave us poor, trampled revelers alone and let FPD be whatever happens naturally.  Boo Hoo."

Could we perhaps grow up a bit and recognize that stakeholders in this community have as much right to peaceful enjoyment of our homes, businesses, and public places as you do?  I don't think that it is too much to ask not to have our homes broken into, passed out people on our porches vomiting, 20 gallons of litter on our lawns, and vicious assaults in our driveways.  I have seen all of this on my property.  No one has the right to do that for any reason, period.

If you put-out entitled brats think we "townies" are too big a problem for you to handle and don't like the outcry, then you people can get out of town with the rest of the idiots who come here from abroad to commit mayhem and go create your own community to destroy.  In the meantime, I will advocate as much attention and force as necessary to ensure that actual stakeholders help us live up to being one of America's best midwestern communities.  It's too bad your pride doesn't extend much beyond ignorance, vulgarity, drunkenness, and disrespect of anyone else who disagrees with you.

Flame away.  I won't be reading or replying.  Make yourselves feel good telling me how it is.

What a little bitch... quit whining, you live in a college town and for that matter you live next to a bar district. GMAFB. Kids will be kids. The manhattan tucks that have this holier-than-thou attitude about anything associated with the "young, wild and free" lifestyle. Let me guess, you walked up hill, in the snow, barefoot, both ways to school and you were god damn thankful for it. :jerk:

Meanwhile on saturday while you cower in a dark corner of your house, I will be   :drink: :drink: :drink: :drink: :drink: and  :bigtoke:  :bong: :bigtoke: and then probably  :barf: ... deal with it.

I'm flattered doods

I feel like things have really took off for me... In 24 hours I have managed to go from unknown "once in a blue moon" poster to recently appointed "poster of the week" to now all but locking up Manhattan's next commissioner opening...  :kstategrad:

My whole "someone crap on the coats" posting style has really paid off in securing the :users: contingency

Feels good fellas... feels real good  :gocho:

There are two guys on the commission who refuse to vote for anything that spends money...  the previously mentioned tea-party nut jobs

Manhattan really needs some new blood to shake things up and be a bit more progressive. The old guard is having trouble realizing Manhattan isn't a sleepy small college town anymore.

Get this... RCPD gets to set their (bloated) fiscal budget through the law board without any say from the city commission, i.e. the elected officials. So say we, as a community, wanted to decrease spending on renovating jail facilities or hiring more officers to bust young whipper snappers for public services like public transit or rental inspections, etc... we'd have to do so with whatever is left over after they set their budget.

You would assume that since we got to 50k we would, but you would be wrong... The commission voted it down a couple weeks ago... citing budgetary concerns.

No idea on shuttle service... It makes sense they would/should do this in the future. Or maybe think about public transportation... that would take vision though so  :flush:

Bad news though bros... the free parking isn't going to last forever. To give perspective, at most airports parking revenue is 40-70% of the total revenue of the airport.

In other news, MHK is getting a SportsClips next to the new Long John Silvers http://www.sportclips.com/

Agreed on both statements except the denver flight does open up alot of connections to the west

Other options they are looking into include:

Las Vegas

Orlando

Phoenix  :dunno:

Salt Lake City  :dubious:

A masterplan is being assembled as we speak and a terminal/parking expansion was presented this week to the city commission... but of course one of the commissioners groaned about where the money is going to come from to pay for it (one of the newly appointed far-right tea party nut jobs).

Right now the terminal is being looked at to more than triple in size and the parking lot double.

So yeah... its in the works, as well as additional flights (most likely denver).

Austin from Kansas City, Mo., writes: Hi Adam i have a friend who has been offered scholarships to play at Nebraska, Kstate, Kansas, Mizzou, and Iowa. He wants to play on a team that will have a legitimate title shot in the next four years. He is torn between the five and really doesn't know where he wants to go. I have been telling him to look more into Iowa and Nebraska what do you think? He is a 6'2 265lbs defensive end with a 4.7 forty. Very quick. who would he have the best chance with?

Adam Rittenberg: Your buddy has a tough decision to make, Austin, especially based on the expansion situation. If you're talking national title, I'd nudge him toward Nebraska or Iowa. Both of those teams will enter the 2010 season ranked in the top 15 and compete for conference championships this fall. Missouri wasn't far from a national title shot in 2007, but it's hard to see the Tigers leapfrogging Texas, Oklahoma or Nebraska in the Big 12. Now if Missouri and Nebraska join the Big Ten, that could change the game a little bit. Iowa and Nebraska are the safe bets. Good luck to him.
