What part of, "Nobody cares anymore" do you folks not comprehend?

This isn't anger at Oscar, revenge for Frank being run-off, or angst at Currie's mismanagement of people.

We can't muster the interest in the program anymore.

The administration doesn't seem to care that the team hasn't mustered a meaningful run in the post season in 7 years. There are no top flight McDonald's All American players coming to Manhattan anymore. When players leave the program, voluntarily or not, they don't go to Power 5 schools. They end up at lower tier programs or even jucos.

What kind of excitement can that mediocre effort at assembling excellence generate?

We don't care anymore. We can't.
Seriously, what part of I don't care if you don't care do you not comprehend.

Also, If you follow KSU basketball, you would realize Wally Judge is the only McDonalds All American I remember since Huggins brought in Beasley.  How did Wally work out.  However, I am very happy Frank brought in a four star McGruder came with him and I loved watching him play. We have a couple of four star players on the team now.

Reno, thats about where I am at.  The Weber deal will sort itself out and won't be changed before this season plays out and is not worth me giving it any thought.  This group of players has a lot of interesting components to watch.

The people that complained to get Frank run out of town and the ones that support this sack of crap loser coach should be banned for life from attending any K-State sporting events once said sack of crap is finally done destroying this program.
The results on the court this year will determine my position on Weber.  Right now I support this group of 13 scholarship players plus walk ons and I actually hope we win games this year.  I'm not cool enough to be a KSU basketball fan and root for them to lose.  If that means you think I should banned for life, I'll still do my best to buy season tickets next year.

Back to the thread.  Reno is right about depth in the front court.  Mawien at 6 ft 9 averaged 41% from three last year and 2 blocks a game.  Has put on 25 or so lbs since high school.  Should be able to back up Wade plus play significant minutes at the 5.

I care deeply about KSU basketball and like the players on this years team.  Some places that is called being a fan.  Sorry you don't care about the players on this years team and let your hatred of Weber cause you not to be a fan.

Three interesting players with some skills, strength, experience and maturity is what this thread is about.  These three guys are going to add some dynamics to this team.

Also, if you don't care anymore, I struggle to understand why you care enough to tell everyone or even read this thread.

If you cared "deeply" about Kansas State Men's Basketball, you'd be committed to the idea of freeing these players from the prison they are incarcerated in by ridding the program of the stench of mediocrity that follows oscar Weber around like the aura around a 2 dollar whore trolling the streets of Houston on a sweltering summer night.

We once aspired for more. We can again.

That's why I drop a steamy log on putrid posts like this.

I'm committed to analyzing and maybe even enjoying watching the players on this team and pretty sure I'm not going to have an effect on who coaches them for the next 8 or 9 months.  I have no problem if you don't like these players.  Thats how you roll.

cat97 comes onto the University of South Carolina Basketball Board expecting in-depth talk about the Brucecats
Agree it was a mistake on my part.  Reno's op appears to be the definitive analysis.

Back to the subject of this thread.  Wainright scored 14.2, 4.5 rebounds, 3.5 assists with a 2.1 assist to turnover on a juco team that ended up ranked 14 in the country.  Fourth year of basketball after high school.  Expected to back up the two and three as we have Brown and Sneed at those two spots.  If he pushes either of those guys for starter minutes, that is a good thing.
Does anybody beside Reno have any thoughts on the three players he started this thread with?  I understand some do not care about Weber but these guys are players and have not done anything except agree to play for K State.  If you don't care, fine.  Maybe a few of you have thoughts about what these guys might bring to the team next year.

I have not said one thing about supporting or not supporting the coach.  If supporting the players, discussing what the new players might bring to the team and actually rooting for this team to win makes me a bad fan, so be it.  I'll keep doing what I want to.

Also, you are welcome to keep doing what you want to do.

233
it's what you do while he's here that matters.  like with germans and hitler.
Guess I'll do what I want to do.

Sorry, What does Weber have with me being a KSU basketball fan.  I was a fan before Weber got here and will be one after he is gone.

This player does not seem cool enough for some posters on this forum.
“He’s a guy you’ve got to kick out of the gym; a real hunger to improve himself,” Christian said in a phone interview. “Really a high-potential person. Big belief in himself, and a big belief in the team dynamic. He’s really going to make Kansas State basketball better.

Info on the new guy.

The Kansas State basketball team didn’t spend much time depleted underneath in the wake of forward Bullnuts’s dismissal.

Mawdo Sallah, a graduate transfer, didn’t hesitate to fill the spot, either.

A 6-foot-9 junior forward who spent the last three seasons at Mt. Saint Mary’s, Sallah announced his transfer to Kansas State Monday afternoon on Twitter just four days after Maurice’s dismissal from the team.

Sallah will have two years of college eligibility, beginning immediately.

“I am excited to play at Kansas State University for the next two years,” he wrote.

Sallah, originally from Latri Kunda, Gambia, averaged 6.1 points, 5.3 rebounds and 1.1 blocks per game last season for Mt. Saint Mary’s.

His coach there, Jamion Christian, said Sallah is only improving.

“He’s a guy you’ve got to kick out of the gym; a real hunger to improve himself,” Christian said in a phone interview. “Really a high-potential person. Big belief in himself, and a big belief in the team dynamic. He’s really going to make Kansas State basketball better.”

Sallah’s is an unusual path to Kansas State. After announcing his intent to leave Mt. Saint Mary’s in the spring, he then committed to UNC-Wilmington. Complications there freed Sallah, who decided on K-State soon after Maurice’s dismissal opened the door.

Sallah redshirted the 2015-16 season with an injury, which gives him his two years of eligibility.

Tyler Dreiling of KMAN was the first to report. ESPN’s Jeff Goodman reported it as well.

K-State’s newest addition is relatively inexperienced at the sport. Christian said Sallah has only been playing basketball for roughly six years. His desire to improve, though — and his 7-foot-3 wingspan — has driven his success.

“When I say he works hard, I’m talking two to three times in the gym a day — on his own, or with a coach, or with a graduate assistant,” Christian said. “He’s a guy that’s going to get the most out of his ability because of how hard he works.”

As for what sparked Sallah’s interest in K-State, Christian pointed to last year’s NCAA Tournament First Four, when Sallah was able to watch the Wildcats warm up in Dayton, Ohio.

From there, after talking with K-State coach Weber and his staff, and upon Maurice’s dismissal, Sallah pulled the trigger.

“Because of recent developments at Kansas State an opportunity presented itself,” Sallah wrote in his Twitter post. “This time I had to jump on it immediately.”

Sallah will join an inexperienced group of forwards at K-State, among them freshmen Nigel Shadd and Levi Stockard.

Christian said he expects his former player to contribute right away.

“I think as his experience increases, his rebounding will continue to increase,” Christian said. “(K-State is) getting a guy who started every game for us, played 25 minutes a game. They’re really getting a seasoned guy.”

Had no time for questions, oscar made himself unavailable.  Showed up late, talked to a few donors, gave his spiel and left.  Outside of DJamer the whole evening a waste. :dubious:
Evening was a waste must mean SEK catbackers don't believe in beer.

241
You could not care less so does it make you feel better to take the time to tell everybody that.

I'm very interested to see what 240 lbs vs 225 lbs does to his game.

242
Like to have you ask him if the rumors that Diarra is the best guard on the team are true?

243
Should a guy like Bragg that got beat up by a woman be given a second chance.  Not at KU.

244
There are at least a dozen dumbfuck posters on this bbs that swear they don't watch games and simultaneously comment on how bad we look.
I went to every damn home game and to one of them as a cow and we rough ridin suck.

This thread was about the 7 freshman for next year. I went to all the games too and missed seeing them play.  I'll have to be more observant.

245
The last guy, mawien might do some DJamer things but also shot over 40% from three.

246
Really, I'm new posting here and I thought those guys must surely know a lot about KSUs recruits but just don't want to give out their double secret source of knowledge.

247
imagine how bad we'll be when deathbite, claws, and the flush graduate

Imagine how lol soft the non-con is going to be that following year.
Wonder how you know that Mawein, Diarra, Shadd and others in the current class won't be better than Brown, Stokes and Wade?  You must have watched video on them and determined they were not very good.
Because they aren't good... except for Shadd. Think he will start or be first off bench next year.
Same question for you.  Wonder how you know that Mawein, Diarra, Shadd and others in the current class won't be better than Brown, Stokes and Wade?  You must have watched video on them and determined they were not very good. Or do you have inside knowledge you want to share?

You might check out some video on him.  Guy is a skilled 6ft 9 player.  Will be a sophomore next year.  Top 150 player at 190 lbs and is now220.  Redshirted at Utah.  A player like this is not compromising the future although we will be lucky to sign him as he is looking for playing time.
