For recruiting we have to start in this state?

eff.  eff eff eff eff eff.

We're done guys.  We're rough ridin' done.

28
Currie is pissed that we rebelled against him and has now decided to burn this rough rider to the ground.

29
We're paying Weber more than Frank.  LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL

30
Chasing away good assistants (Leavitt)
Keeping good recruits away with nazi oversight and stalking to enforce compliance
Micromanaging LHC Bill Snyder
Driving LHC Bill Snyder into a second retirement
Replacing LHC Bill Snyder with a terrible coach
Pissing off donors who begin holding back funding
Making K-State athletics completely uncompetitive
Potentially land us outside of a BCS conference with his complete ineptitude next time the realignment wheel spins

Please add your own

Frame him for a crime that will turn the tucks against him.  If we can somehow tie this crime to oscar Weber, that's even better.

32
I mean, seriously, have you ever seen one man destroy a basketball program in such a small amount of time?

33
Boo obnoxiously any time Currie tries to speak.

34
I feel so helpless.  There's got to be a way to undo what has been done.  Currie's actions signal that he's purposely trying to kill our basketball program and it's too painful to just sit back and watch it happen.

35
Who would be on it?  He said on air that he would be bringing this guy in, who was an ace recruiter at UNC and Michigan State.  Also alluded to potentially keeping some of the current staff, probably Underwood.  Who else?

36
He really has done his homework.  His assistant of choice:

37
he really wants this job.  a LOT.

we should hire him, but we should make the contract so that he doesn't start for a while so he can pump us up on ESPN for a while first and recruit without restrictions.

38
I can't believe he even just said Jank's name

39
The one thing I don't like about this interview is it sounds like the search firm that Currie is using hasn't reached out to Gottlieb yet.  I'm curious who the guys at KSU he's been talking are.

40
im sold

please forgive me for my tad boyle support goEMAW

i knew not what i was doing

41
if he can recruit himself into this job then he can recruit good basketball players to manhattan

42
likes pinwheel motion from brad, although not sure if that's the same offense he would run if he was given the chance

43
Quote from: gottlieb
i would bring in amazing assistants with experience and recruiting connections
i love basketball
i love k-state

45
you too sys?  god damnit, now i'm basically required.

fan and sys basically call the shots when it comes to ksuhoops fandom.  i can't disagree with them without feeling Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!).  rusty is probably in there somewhere too.

47
Don't let them PI you into leaving ira.  Stay strong.

48
I guess I could be receptive to the idea if he hired a very experienced assistant (Underwood?) and he got another assistant with strong AAU ties.

And Steve Dave, I don't know where you're going with this gottlieb > pearl stuff.  Pearl is like Huggins 2.0 for us.  Heck, maybe better because his infamy comes from cheating instead of being a drunk.  Proven winner.  Gottlieb is a wildcard.  I think you just have a big crush on him.

But Pearl isn't really an option I guess so it's a pointless argument.

49
I'm actually still pissed Pearl isn't an option.  Can you imagine Pearl as HC with Gottlieb as assistant?  Wouldn't matter if he had show cause or not.

Sure Doug hasn't been X/Oing, but he's been going around the country watching all kinds of basketball for seveal years. Plus its clear he does his homework, watches tons of film, talks to tons of coaches. He knows the game, he could get good people to work with him, and he could get into tons of living rooms.

People are making this a left field hire, but its much less out of left field than most realize. Gottlieb would be great, innovative, and fun for K-State basketball.
damnit fan, don't do this to me.  you are probably the only person on this site that could convince me to change my mind.
