They have to clarify now because schools & journalists are asking.

This is the biggest part I don't get about the whole story. The tiebreaker rule isn't vague at all. It clearly says if the tied teams haven't all played each other then you go to the next step. What would have prompted the questions in the first place?

OSU beating both teams they are tied with in head to head matchups.

What a great game! I was 10 but I remember it vividly. 

We're the same age 

I don't remember the game though, I was not a qhatz fan yet (didn't go to a game or know much until I went to a game in 2000)

Looks like we're the same age as well! I went with my father to a friend's house for a watch party. I distinctly remember how tense everything was for that final drive. I also remember the voices of the men who were all like "crap, that's a facemask. Wait... Did they not call it!?!? THEY DIDN'T THROW A FLAG!!! THAT'S BALLGAME!!!"

head-to-head does mean something, but it's just one game and a team's full resume is a lot more telling. yea we played as bad as possible vs osu and they barely squeaked by, but we also didn't lose 3-45 to ucf.

This is where I'm at as well. All our losses were very close losses to teams that we now know are pretty good. OSU has two really bad losses on its resume that never should have happened.

I also agree with MIR in that I don't understand why the Big XII would announce a rule change now with so many games left to play. We have no idea how this is going to shake out and making a rule change for a scenario that has a strong possibility of not even happening makes no sense. I don't understand where all this smoke is coming from. If they were going to "clarify" wouldn't it make more sense to have that announcement ready to go, but keep it under wraps until the regular season is over? Then announce it on Sunday after everyone is finished?

I appreciate your rational perspective on the season, but I have decided to ride an emotional and financial (thanks to Draft Kings) roller coaster based upon the actions of teenagers. At this point though, I'm either going to bang Olivia Dunne or plow my car into and I-70 overpass.

He's absolutely in scrimmage/lets practice this for later in the season mode.

Seriously, this. Howard is too slow to get it done. They're just going to bring pressure for the rest of the game.

Also, the talent disparity is huge. Our lack of recruiting is showing again.

Howard needs to sit a spell.  He's playing like he did against OSU, lost.

True, but it's not going to matter with our secondary allowing them to throw all over the field at will.

They're selling out to stop the run and we don't have the ability to throw. Additionally, our D isn't good enough to slow them down to the point that we stay in the game.

The game got mess fired so I guess in some way it was good.

The game was upsetting, but the outcome was a real blessing.

100%. Getting Mess fired was the only good thing to come from it, and look what happened!

Guys... I just realized that since KU is now 6-2, they have qualified for back to back bowl games for only the 2nd time in school history. This sets up the possibility that next year they could have the first stretch of 3 bowl appearances in school history!

DJamer seems really good at YAC, but that is just an eye test thing and I don’t want to actually look it up.

I am pro DJamer getting the ball a bunch more.

I don't know the exact numbers, but he has better YAC than any of our other RBs.

The phog is high on being a playoff contender next year thanks to a "soft" schedule.

Lots of 10-2 and 11-1 talk. Amazing to think that they had a dimension ridden coach less than just a simple car loan term ago.
