Two weeks to prepare against a team that's collapsing, and we're going to breath new life into their program. I'm so sick of this coaching staff and their complete ineptitude.

I'm surprised we're still in this with the penalties. Too mammy self inflicted wounds.

Get up quick they fold. We run it up on them. 'cats by 90.

Get up quickly on them and they fold or we fold?   Because it seems like we have been folding of late.  Or punting, or both.

Damn!  He trippin' so hard fans are gonna think he done fell off!

I'm thinking it'll be a repeat of TCU/WV/OSU where we find ourselves in a position to take a chance and seal the victory, only to make another dumb coaching decision and give the game to Rapelor.

My family has a small licensed distillery and half our RV was ready to either pass out or riot after this weekend's game. I was in the riot faction.

It means I want to wake up to an enjoyable "Gems of the Oklahoma State game thread" on sunday morning....

 :excited:

None of the current teams are capable of a proper meltdown now that Aggie and cornhole are gone.

They're a team from the state of Oklahoma, right? Then they have delusions of grandeur that can be exposed and crushed.

Bast-tards will do anything to get back to the way it was; so if bullshit works, then bullshit it will be.

Exactly. Baylor has consistently shown that they plan to only do the bare minimum, if that, as they deal with this scandal. They deserve the death penalty more than SMU or Penn State ever did.

I still maintain that the Feds burned the wrong complex down in '93.

I was just rough ridin' around purp'oil. they could still be holding a grudge about him doing sex on and around mary vanier and her entire family.

That may be true, and my source may have been told a lie for a variety of reasons, but I'm not going to fuel those rumors when the information that I have available to me says the opposite. At this point, I will not comment any further on the Vanier family because I don't believe any good will come from it.

Whoa! I have just now actually gone back and read what it is I wrote and I clearly owe this board an apology. I was trying to finish up several things towards the end of my lunch break, had a few thoughts in my head both on this matter and on work stuff, and an intern came into my office. I quickly finished my thought and pushed "post" without actually proofreading what I had typed.

I have only briefly met the Vaniers, and I can promise you they don't remember me from Adam. My source, however, is close to Mrs. Jack Vanier and I had my source ask her, as I was curious, if there was any truth to the BV rumors and such (without getting into much detail). The answer was a resounding "no".

Now, this is neither here nor there as all we're doing in this thread is supposed to be speculating on a future coach. However, I cannot express how sorry I am to further what I know has to be an incredibly irritating rumor for the Vanier family. I realize this is just a football message board but when you start making remarks, for or against, people/friends/family, things can become personal very quickly. If you have ever written a paper or speech, and then gone back through and wondered "What was I thinking here?" as you came across a sentence or two that made no sense at all, then maybe you can sympathize with me. If not, then please try and understand that what I typed, and the words that were going through my head as I typed and started a separate conversation in my office, did not actually align and I failed to recognize the mental error prior to posting. I tend to not take message boards too seriously, but I do hope that any friends or family of the Vanier's on here please accept my sincere apology for this egregious error on my part.

I have since edited my original post and ask that anyone who quoted me to please do the same as I neither intended, nor stand by any of the previous remarks that I made in regards to the Vanier family.

Tim "It's Patterson" Fitzgerald said today on Soren's show that he thinks Jerry Kill will be the next head coach.

Anyone who actually believes that moron deserves to be publicly ridiculed. It's already been mentioned, but he just says things to get attention.

I can see this game going either way. I'd like to believe my cats will pull out the W but I can see us making costly mistakes and poor play calling like against WVU as well.

2012 was also a pretty good year, iirc.

2012 was a great year. In fact, it was such a good year that we should be seeing the recruiting results of that year manifesting on the field. Instead...

Good luck with that

Why is that an unreasonable goal for our program? If we don't schedule top ten teams or FCS national champions for our season openers, we get 3 OOC wins. Then you beat half the teams in the conference, and win your bowl game, that gets you to 9. A better year sees 10 or even 11. Why is that not obtainable?

You first said expectation; goals and expectations aren't the same thing.

Then substitute expectations in for anytime I said goals.

These rudderless, shitty recruiting, horrible QB developing seasons are really starting to rough ridin' suck.  We aren't lucking into another Klein.  We aren't getting another Daniel Thomas. There won't be another Lockett gift wrapped until Bill is 84.  I don't care how many wins we get a season.  The horrible blowing of games like WVU and TCU suck.  We're coasting along so a 77 year old ego maniac can "have a positive impact on youngsters lives".  I have zero hope for a Big12 championship in the future.  We aren't building towards anything.  This blows.

Well said. This whole coaching staff needs to go away. I expect 9 -10 win seasons from our program and we are not trending in that direction and show no signs of turning things around.

If it was anyone else running this program instead of Snyder V2.0, their name would be on the short list to be replaced after this season. However, since Bill is still riding his own coat tails from the work he performed in the 90's, here we are.

It was so fun, though.

I mean, why can't we just buy some 'cruits and some roids and go nuts?

Someone already beat me to it, but yeah, because we're not a bunch of lying, cheating, raping dirtbags named Baylor.

I will miss having a much beloved and universally respected by all his peers, coach associated with this university. I was always damn proud at how many coaches would publicly speak out against another coach on the rare occasion that Snyder would get snubbed on the after game handshake. Jim Mora, Gary Pinkle, and that rough riding skidmark Bo Pelini have all had to give explanations for their actions because they chose to act like children towards a man of unquestionable character.

I too am a fan of P. J. Fleck and wouldn't mind seeing him come here. Knowing this, we're all but guaranteed not to get him because John Currie is the type of guy to screw up a rough riding wet dream.

Also, I know you're probably not seeking feedback on your other work, but something caught my eye.

Is this diminutive jayhawk aware that sunflowers don't release any sort of scent to attract pollinators and instead rely on their bright colors?
Or, was the intention to suggest that this little guy might be having some sort of a stroke?
That seems like some pretty mature themes for a childrens' book, Gregg.

It's posts like this that forced me to come out of my lurking status and actually start posting on here myself.

I love this place.

I don't think that there is any doubt that we're a better team than last year, but looking at our schedule, we could very easily still end up with the same record.

Why wouldn't they just use old Memorial as the soccer field.  Honest question,  I have really low soccer IQ. It seems like it would attract more casual,  eff-it-might-as-well-watch-since-it's-so-close fans.

Cause the seats are now grass roofs?

Memorial still has a posted capacity that is higher than the biggest crowd that showed up to a soccer game this year..

The issues with Memorial don't have to do with capacity.

Exactly, your sight lines, concessions, restrooms, parking, proximity to all other athletic facilities are vastly improved by building a new facility vs using Memorial, which has now already been repurposed. Besides, we're K-State. It's not like we've got a shortage of money or anything.

If they couldn't beat us last year, what would make them think they stand a chance now?

This is what makes me very confident in a victory. We barely eeked out a .500 season, with them as one of our wins, and this year we are much better while they're... just not.

I also remember having to miss this game because Garth Brooks was in Wichita!!!

was it a sell out?

5 of the 6 shows that he did that weekend were. 65,000 tickets were sold in less than an hour.

real kstate fans skip football games for Garth Brooks shows

The 36DD's that I was motorboating at the time wanted to go to Garth. Since you were unable to pick the concert time that you wanted, I ended up pounding beers at Old Chicago in Old Town while watching the game on a TV until our show time. The hot/crazy matrix definitely held true for that one.

This is my favorite thread on the internet.

I've attended 3 K-State vs KU football games in Lawrence: 1 with Gill, 1 with Chuck, and last year fighting the ice with Bowen. They can keep their mound of dirt with the zika nest up top and their WWII pillbox of a stadium. That place is a complete dump, their's no parking, the tailgating atmosphere takes place in a bunch of run down houses and backyards, and Mass street, while decent, is not what they have talked it up to be.

I miss Bob Davis though - "What in the world!?"

I'm currently watching the 2002 vs Nebraska game while doing my morning e-mails to get me going.  :ksu:
