The sport might implode, literally right in front of us. Greg Sankey is a straight piece of crap. I don't know why the other commissioners and Notre Dame would agree to this. Call their bluff, they're trying to cut everyone else out of the sport anyway. Frankly, I'd rather win a national championship in a sub division than to beg these motherfuckers for scraps and never ever have a shot because the playing field is so uneven.

I agree 100%. I'd rather be a top dog in a 'lower' division than continue to deal with this bullshit. Part of me honestly does hope it all collapses.

Wow... that one has me in tears!

their model of recruiting can now be used by everyone now that NIL is in place.

I mean... we all know this is what's really taking them down.

Take back the NIL Money. Losing to Kstate and Tang is not acceptable
It should cost Self and the assistant $100k everything they lose to the 'taters. Send it to Lance and the football team.

You know, for as often as they say that we're not their rival, they sure are taking this one personally.

5
I guess I was trying to look too deep into things, thinking you guys were referencing something specific with Bill Self and not just a balding guy wanting hair.

And no, I do not have hair plugs, at least not yet. It is unfortunately thinning though.

6
Bill Self is the cool dad.
idk, he’s insecure enough that he got hair plugs

I must be missing something here. What's the connection with hair plugs, insecurity, and Self?

7
So, does this mean they're playing in both stadiums???

Where will the money come from that they will have to pay the Chief's if they do end up working out a deal to play at Arrowhead?

I just can't imagine the franchise is going to let them use their facility on a charity type basis.

I bet they try and sell tickets for the fans to watch the games
I enjoyed this post a lot. Thank you!

Alright, so I walked into that one. But really, my question stems from that. They don't really sell out their current 45k stadium. They're already over budget for the replacement stadium to a tune of 100mil. At best, they'll come close to maintaining their season average, but in all reality, attendance will drop. Are ticket sales really going to offset the rental price of the stadium?

We've played Iowa State at Arrowhead several times but I thought we stopped because of poor attendance.

I am against letting them use the Bill.  That will just get their hopes up as to what their new stadium will be.  They will get used to a great stadium experience, great parking availability, smooth traffic in and out.  No way that is fair to them.

The same thing is going to happen to them if they actually work out a deal with Arrowhead.

Washburn is 20 minutes away and Topeka is a major hawk town

Most likely is this.  Topeka is essentially Lawrence with more important people and a better airport

Ahem, sir, but Topeka has TWO airports and they are both superior to the landing strip in Lawrence. The Philip Billard airport (original airport to the city on the NE side of town) Is a bustling general aviation airport that has a new terminal being built even as you read this as well as a popular restaurant within the current terminal building.

Forbes Field (south side of town) is a joint military and civilian airport featuring a base for the Kansas Air National Guard, Kansas Army National Guard, two separate aviation museums, a BBQ cafe, and an available Mercedes courtesy car for pilots to use to get around the city of Topeka.

Lawrence has (and this is straight from their website): Free parking, Terminal open for pilots daily, 8 a.m. – 8 p.m., Restroom, Pilot Weather and Flight Planning computer, Vending machines, Conference room available with reservation, Furnished lobby with TV and free Wifi. Plus they're just a general aviation airport; can't book commercial flights out that town.

This concludes PurpleOil's flyer talk.

There is more accuracy to this than our crimson and blue brothers are willing to admit.

Winning in Ames is reason to believe we're a tournament lock. Winning in Houston is reason to believe we're going to compete for the conference title. Winning both makes us the conference favorites.

I love it when you talk dirty to this board.

How cool would it be if both Howard and Avery were invited and sat next to each other at the ceremony!?!?!?

Wichita State

Who is gonna tell him

Do you think KU would fly or drive down to that stadium? I understand the Flint Hills aren't that mountainous as compared to the Rockies, but still...

17
Guys, almost zero KU fans have ever set foot in an opposing school’s stadium. They will have no idea what they are missing.  Whatever they build, their fans will simply assume it must be the best in the league, if not the entire country.

Being the architect or general contractor for anything at KU is the easiest job in the world.

It's a little sad how true this is. Outside of a few with the will and means to travel to an away football game, they really don't comprehend how far behind they are.

I still don't believe they're going to get it completed. These cost overruns and unrealistic estimates are going to cut this whole thing down at the knees.

Two months later and my original position has only been solidified.

Texas is so rough ridin' soft.  It's a very good thing they are so rough ridin' rich.

I'm going to enjoy watching them outspend everyone in the SEC only to finish just ahead of A&M in everything.

19
I wasn't there, and it has been 13 years, but the win over Texas was the loudest I've ever heard the place (non-KU).

JANUARY 18, 2010 — 71-62 OVER NO. 1 TEXAS

Pete and I had a vuvuzela in Sec. 17.

That was a great game, I think I was able to get in the 6th row of the student section

I court stormed, stepped on a folding chair, it folded, I went down in the storm.  Struggled to my feet and ran right into weird robert.  This is all on a hilarious iphone video

I'm calling cap. We didn't rush the floor after we beat #1 Texas. It was like, a whole thing.

Can confirm, as I was there and distinctly remember the iCat section chanting "don't storm the court" to the GA section as they were preparing to go over the railing. The GA students ended up backing down (obviously).

“Two Sabes Are Better Than One”

What happens when you pair a World Series MVP with a 7 x College Football National Champion?  Tune in to the adventure of a lifetime as Brett Saberhagen joins Nick Saban and the two Sabes travel the country searching for the best town to open up a new breakfast diner!  Real money is on the line as these two are not only business partners but also roommates.  Their living quarters?  A 2024 Kia Telluride!

This is beautiful

You guys think we'll ever have an NIT tournament for college football?  I hope so.  I'd like to see the bowls completely go away.

As long as the National Championship Game is still the Pop-Tarts bowl, I'm okay with this.

Is the one guy missing a leg?
Is the image AI too woke for your tastes?

Not woke enough. Everybody there is white, and if this takes place in Alabama, it should at least have one black person.

Also, seriously, when has there been a week when #1, #2, and #3 have lost

This is the first time in AP Poll history that four top-5 teams have lost to unranked opponents in a 2-day span.

Let's keep this out of the pit please (for those of us who don't go in there)

Having said that, not sure I'd be bragging about an Alabama education when there are 3 other SEC schools alone that are in a swinging-dead-cat-radius of Tuscaloosa where no one questions the undergrad's ability to read.
