I'll say it; this is worse than Wooly.

We're entering Asbury territory here.

it's funny that all these iowans see losing the white guy as the last straw.

It all falls apart when the effort guys want to get the hell out of Dodge.

or the cole alrdrich/morris twins "pelvic thrust" on hedging on screens.

Jesus, this drives me insane.  Every time I watch KU, I start yelling at the TV because of this.  It's so blatant, and it's so obvious that you may as well put a flashing neon sign on their back saying, "Call a foul on me."

I literally   at any KU fan who says they just play 'good defense'.  If they were called for fouls like other teams were called for fouls, and they had to adjust their game accordingly, you'd see them become a much more 'average' defensive team.

Clemente's signature move is to dribble into the defender's chest, leading with his shoulder, and push off with the right hand to create a couple feet of space.  It's rarely ever called.  K-State also gets away with lots of slapping and shoving on the defensive end of the court.  Seriously, the last people who should be complaining about the refs are K-State fans.  Your team has shot more free throws than any other team in the country.

You know what I love watching?  [Insert Stupid Morris Twin Here] setting illegal screen after illegal screen (which never gets called), and watching Tyshawn Taylor and Brady Morningstar dry hump and hand check guards all over the place.  You want to talk about slapping and shoving, the worst team in all of college basketball resides in Lawrence, Kansas.

And don't get me started on Sloth...

I hate saying much about officiating, but this particular KU team gets away with murder game after game.

Looks terrible.  No one would actually say "what color is michael jackson" to find out whether they went back in time.  They would say something like "what year is it?"

But that wouldn't be funny!  :flush:

It could be if some other funny stuff happened.

what if he said it with a cowboy hat on?

Maybe use an accent or a monkey.  Both are funny.

I'm going to make a movie about a monkey with an accent who always wears a cowboy hat.  Title?  "Funniest Movie Ever."

That movie is going to be great.  Betcha it will have a whole bunch of mistaken identities and hilarious mix-ups.

pretty sure the "cool" dad from "my two dads" already more/less beat you guys to this...

It's a re-imagining.

Have stopped by Crown Center for some lunch on my way to P&L. Place is still crawling with ISU fans, spending their ethanol money.

Women play tomorrow.

So the only ISU fans that came to KC were family of the WBB players?

We're probably going to win the national championship.   :users:

If Samuels is even 50% as effective as he has been this game so far, and we get consistent play from Clemente and Pullen, we're going to the Final Four.

I'm gonna need to up the t-shirt budget for all of the schwag that I'll need to buy.

 :excited:

LOVE it when KSU fans (or ISU fans for that matter) think there is some sort of significant difference between Iowa State and Kansas State.  Outside of Iowa and Kansas, I'm not sure anyone realizes that the two exist as separate entities.

Untrue.  Everyone knows that Iowa is a place where dreams go to die.

Unless you're willing to build a baseball diamond in your backyard so you can have a catch with your dead father.

11209
I totally get that.  I never said it was rational.  Completely random.

it stems from them being iowans.  you wouldn't hate them if they weren't.

It may be.  I've never looked at it from that angle.

I ate at a Wendy's outside of Des Moines once.  Wasn't impressed.  Never went back to Iowa.  Maybe it's because of that?

Awesome that widdmore(whos side is he on) is back also will Eloise make an appearance or Desmond?  :crossfingers:
So hows this going to go down?.
Do they end up fighting out at the other island, @ home where they are at now, the black rock, the temple :dunno: And you can't kill bad locke can you?
the only way to get him away seems to be that chowder they put around themselves and dynamite was shown to get him to go away as well.
Really was a great episode.

I read an interview a while back where they said that at some point this season, they're going to stop doing these alternate reality flashes, and we're gonna get down to business.

Somehow, this is going to end with Jack and Locke going head to head, faith vs. reason, good vs. evil, and Jack will be the new Jacob.

Of course, they could throw us all a major curveball, and Sun could end up being the major character.

All I know is that there has been a severe lack of Kate this season, and as much as I enjoy what's been going on, I'm a man, and I have needs.  And I needs me some Kate.

C'mon man, ISU does not agree to be your rival

I totally get that.  I never said it was rational.  Completely random.

How can you hate them? They're just so....earnest.

No clue.  Why do I hate mayonnaise?  Why do I hate tan suits?  No good reason.  I just don't like them.

One day, I was just watching a game, saw Iowa State, and I thought, "God, these guys suck.  I hope they lose every game they play."

I have no idea why.  They haven't upset me in any way.  It's not like KSU really loses to them all that often in anything.  I just feel like they're completely inferior and worthless.

It's kind of like how I feel about Canada.

Anyway, is this strange or unhealthy?  It kind of makes me feel like a bad person, but since they're subhuman, I don't really care all that much.

 :dunno:

_FAN is looking like he won't go 0-4 on Wednesday picks

The north SLTHs are destroying me.

Pick against McNeck Saturday.  Pick Bz this morning.  Pick against Doc.

And I'm glad Page is getting all his shots in tonight.

11215
Not a quick start for the Sooners...I guess we already figured this though  :dunno:

Watching this is the basketball equivalent of a watching someone pray for death.

Oklahoma just wants this season to be over, and it shows.

I bet he gets lazy and throws Bible verses out there every two or three days.

Mellinger should've gotten a quote from Frank on Bill Walker leaving early for the NBA.

That would be fantastic.  I saw Frank in-person-intimidate an old powerespect at the NE Catbacker meeting who thought Bill should stay another year.

Huggins had the end-all-be-all stance on the subject.

(paraphrasing) "Kids don't go to college to get educated.  Kids go to college to get a job.  My guys get jobs."

I think there's a lot of truth to that.

The ability to discuss recruiting on that board died years ago.  None of what's posted anymore in that regard really makes much sense.

There are a couple of guys who can find some random stuff on Google who I track, but overall, some of those guys are really out there.

there is definitely good information that comes out on that board.  it's just the discussion/board consensus that is funny.  not just overly optimistic, funnier than that.

like the alvarez-butler comparo.  i don't see how a rational human could deny that there are parallels between the two, and that kstatefan love/hate of either is a completely partisian exercise.  not acknowledging that isn't drinking kool-aid, it's something else.  something more Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!).

There is no difference at all.  Alvarez is funneling kids to Kansas State under the appearance of objectivity.

It makes him look good because he can say, "Look at all these kids I'm helping get to D1".  It helps Martin by promoting the notion that he's connected to South Florida and Kansas State is the preeminent destination for Latin American talent.

It's a symbiotic relationship.  They may be friends, but they're both getting something out of this.  There's nothing really altruistic about what Alvarez is doing.

couldn't get a quote from self?   :surprised:

http://www.kansascity.com/2010/03/09/1801470/nba-dilemma-can-be-maddening-for.html

I love Mellinger's recent story angles:

Frank Martin just signed an extension, but he could still leave even though he says he won't
Craig Brackins stayed in college and doesn't regret it, but I don't believe him

You can mine that gold for years.  It's a great way to find stuff to write about.
