Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / Thanks alot Peterson
« on: March 10, 2011, 04:15:04 PM »
He was pathetic in the 2nd half.   His defense on Higgins (when Jake shut down AB) was awful.   Then he committed just a stupid foul after we cut the lead to 1 with about 90 seconds left.

If he is playing good, i am fine if he plays.... but Irving should have gotten a chance since Peterson played awful today

Vandy - 9-7 in conf.  Only went 1-5 vs UF UK Tenn. 6 wins vs top 50

Even though aTm beat us in their own back yard and have less total losses.  I think our resume is just as good..... and probably just slightly better right now.  I think both of us are 6 seeds right now, but think we viewed as the 3rd best team with 1 game left to play B12 tourney action

Non conf=
1. aTm played 3 teams in the top 100 and went 2-1.  2 pretty good wins (over 29 Temple and 41 Wash).   Lost to BC (rpi 38 8-7 in ACC)
2. Ksu played 7 teams in the top 100 and went 4-3.   3 pretty decent wins (at 70 Wazzu, 63 VT, 68 Gonz).  Lost to Duke 5, Fla 11 and Unlv 26.   The committe should factor in that we had 2 guys suspended for that unlv loss

Conf play=
1. Both teams are 9-6
2.  Ksu has 6 wins over top 100, aTm has only 5
3. Ksu has 3 top 50 wins (including wins over 2 best teams).  Ags have 2 wins over top 50.
4. Neither team has a bad conf loss

Overall =
Ksu Rpi 21 SOS 6
aTm Rpi 30 Sos 44

Pullen, Marcus Thug, and Hamilton are locks.

Who would your other 2 guys be?
Burks
Dunn
Denmon

I'd say Burks for sure and the last spot is between the other 2.   I'd give the edge to Denmon

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / Last 8 games.....
« on: February 28, 2011, 11:51:39 PM »
1) Only turnoving the ball over 12.1 times per game.   That is just HUGE!!

**It has helped us score the ball more.  73.5 PPG in those 8 gms.

** We have been very solid at counter punching when teams cut our leads in the 2nd half.   Our lead will go from like 10 to 5 or something like that and we answer right back instead of letting the run get to like 12-0 (like earlier this season)

 :katpak:

For comparison =

In the 3 previous seasons we ave 67.9 pts in our 32 losses.   Basicly ave 70 in 07-08 & 09-10 seasons, and just under 65 in Jake's soph year

The most we scored in a loss this year was 68.    In the previous 3 seasons, we won only 4 games total if we scored 68 pts or under.

Hey...... its no secret it is hard to win a game when you can't score 70.   This just magnifies how bad we have been on offense this year.  We are not even ave 60.

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / Same old cac.....
« on: February 12, 2011, 11:36:02 PM »
1 lousy pathetic fg in 9:27 stretch.

Cats ups 22-14.   Get outscored 18-3 by the buffs.   We f*ck around in our stupid offense and score only a f*ckin field goal for over 9 minutes.

56 pts at Boulder (13-0 and 12-0 runs. 2 LONG dry spells of 7 min and 5:15 with no pts)
56 pts at College Station (aTm 13-0 in 2nd half.  Cats score 11 pts in 15:15 spurt in 2nd)
59 pts at Columbia (Mu goes on 12-0 in 2nd.  Cats score 4 pts in final 8:13 of the game)
62 pts at Stillwater ( Pokes go on 16-2 run as we score only 7 pts in a 7 minute span down the stretch)
66 pts at Lawrence (25-9 run to start game. 9 pts in 12.5 minutes)

For the first time all year.... i hope this is an NIT team because our 2 seniors don't deserve anything more.  F them and Frank and his pathetic offense

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / FT shooting in conf. play
« on: February 04, 2011, 01:41:19 AM »
Amazing this has turned around .....  73.5% (136-185)

JamSam has made 22 of his last 26
Sprads made his last 18 in a row
JO has made 14 of last 17 (8-9 in league play)

Irving/Myles/95  combined for 13-16 in league play

Pullen 76% and Gruds 63% need to up theirs in league play

Kelly has been the only one really struggling .... 9-19 since returning

***** Still kinda sad though that we are hitting our FTs and we still have only scored 70 or more once in 8 conf games

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / A nasty trend.....
« on: January 22, 2011, 11:14:08 PM »
1)  Ahead 49-41 with 9 minutes to go in Stillwater =
Get outscored 22-5 in the next 5 minutes.  Blow an 8 pt second half lead

2) Up 33-24 vs CU =
Let Cu go on 13-0 run and then another 12-0 run quickly there after.   Two runs, 25-0,  no pts for us in a 12:15 span

3)  Cut lead to 58-55 at Mizzou =
Get outscored 12-0 as we fail to score a point in the next 5 minutes.  Game over

4) Take 37-31 lead at aTm =
Get outscored 13-0 in the next 5 minutes and momentum is totally shifted.

Get the lead down to 1 at 46-45 =
Aggies are in the midst of scoring only 1 FG in 8 min stretch .... but we suck just as bad as we score only 3 pts in an 8:15 stretch and the game slips through our fingers.  All in all 2 long droughts in the 2nd half that total 3 pts in a span of 13 min 15 sec

 :bang:  :runaway:  :goodbyecruelworld:

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / I am sick of Frank
« on: January 22, 2011, 03:38:57 PM »
He is clueless right now on how to get this team to play well.  I am sick and tired of him making excuses that our guys are young.   Plays 12 freaking guys in the 1st half.  Irving being the 12th and final guy to see the court, which is a joke, since we need his minutes and what he gives to this team.

Then in the 2nd half he changes his stategy and Iriving is the 1st person off the bench.    WTF?   Seems like he just freaking wings it out there when making decisisons.

I don't give a crap how good Peterson and Myles are practicing...... its freaking ridiculous that Irving was not in our top 8 rotation going into this game

We don't rebound with a crap.  Wally had 34 boards in that 3 game stretch and Frank has him in some doghouse again.  JHR played good vs Mizzou but he did not do anything today.   Did not grab one defensive board.   Had 3 fouls and probably could have been called for more

56 points in a big 12 game.   4 losses and 60.8 pts a game in those losses.

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / 13-0 and 12-0 runs
« on: January 12, 2011, 11:13:02 PM »
Half court offense remains  a big issue for this team.
1.  5:15 without scoring and 7:00 without scoring in those 2 CU runs

Our bigs are pathic.  JHR should not play a meaningful minute the rest of the year.  Don't think he has made one positive play in the last 5 gms.  Freddy is not much better.  Would be fine if we rotated Kelly samuels and wally and let them get 85 percent of the minutes at the 4/5 spots

I will say this jokingly because i am the one who is trying to defend Sprads.  I am pretty sure he was not on the court for one second of those two huge droughts where Cu outscored us 25-0.    Now i thought Irivng played great tonight.    Best move Frank did all night was bring in Sprads and go 4 guard lineup.  We acutally scored 24 pts in the next 6:20

Too bad we had trouble rebounding and could not get a stop defensivly

137
I don't care what anyone thinks on here..... Irving is not point gaurd material and he and Russel look so uncomfortable with the ball in their hands it is not funny.  Pullen can not have the ball in his hands all the time.

Sprads might be a below ave defender, but he has true point guard instincts.   Irving and Russel don't want the ball at the top of the key.   It is easy to see, as soon as they get the ball in that position, they immediately want to get rid of the ball.

6 assts and 21 turnovers today.

Now our bigs were an absolute joke today.     They are a big reason why we lost, but looking down the road, if Sprads is not getting minutes, our half court offense is gonna continue to struggle.    We made FTs today and still only put up 62 pts.

138
Offensive execution was about as bad as i have seen all year to end the 1st half

Kelly was invisible in the 1st half.  If he just dunks that one ball he does not get undercut.
He also missed a bunny layup when he and jake had a 2 on 1.

Love the energy Jamar gave us early.   Russel needs to just go sit by Wally at the end of the bench and just stay there.  He is pressing and it shows big time

If our defensive effort is the same in the 2nd half, then we will win, but it was hard to watch our offense late in that half

139
81 pts (27.0 ave)
15- 30 from deep
18-19  from FT line
8 steals (2.67 game)

and he hit 2 of the biggest 3s in his life in final 65 seconds of 2nd OT

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / 23 fouls in 32 minutes
« on: March 18, 2010, 04:04:12 PM »
Good grief.  Let's hope they don't call the game this tight when we play BYU.

141
Said on 810 today that he has us beating the squawks in the Final 4.   Had UK and Nova as other Final 4 teams.  He never said who he had winning it all.    Keitz was lashing out at him.... asking him what he had seen in the 3 previous meetings that would make him think Ksu can beat Ku.

Not sure if Jack Harry is the kiss of death or not..... of course i really don't buy into things like that any way.   Of course Jack does hate him some KU though

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / Ohio St is weak
« on: March 13, 2010, 03:09:18 PM »
No way they deserve a 1 seed.   For the 2nd straight day, they should have lost to a crappy team.

Evan Turner gets more calls than anyone in the country.   He is a stud.... but everytime ILL breathed on him in OT, they blew the whistle.

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / Stupid Head Coaches
« on: March 12, 2010, 01:12:09 PM »
Michigan coach Beilein ....lol   How dumb can you be.

Lets his team just sit back and let Evan Turner just stroll up and take the shot.   I know he hit a 40 footer.... but still, they could have made it so much tougher.

Extend your defense .... let Evan Turner catch the ball at the opp. free thrown line, but make him zig zag a little bit on the dribble, so he is taking a 50 footer perhaps a little off balance...... not a shot where is got a full run and nice looking form

F U Beilein   :chainsaw:

Well, it's back.

This team has played most of this year with that chip on our shoulder.  Maybe it is a little different now, i don't know.

This loss sucks in so many ways .... but i have not lost all faith.

Scrap, claw and fight.   I love those junkyard dogs we have in our locker room.

I won't lie.  I am slightly concerned.   But I still believe this team is not going home this year without a all out street fight.   I still believe that this team will make it to the 2nd week of the NCAA and put there best effort out there

Guess we'll see.
