I was in Panama City during spring break in college and there were some KU guys staying at the hotel. They were KU basketball jerseys every day (probably the same one, they just rotated them between each guy). They were playing beer pong against us and we won by 7 cups. They got mad, flipped the table, ripped off their ball jerseys and wanted to fight us. They said bro about every other word and kept chest bumping one another. Everyone else there laughed at them and told them to stop being such sore loser and move out of the way so the next team could play us.

I'm sorry to hear that.

I went to spring break in Meade County, opposite corner of the state, but anyways , we walked into a bar wearing K-State shirts and a bunch of KU Kevin's proceeded to say they didn't think it was cool that we would wear that in public and said to take it off. Man, did they get triggered when I refused to comply. They wanted to beat our ass but were overheard and quickly removed from the bar.

Hey Benja, welcome back!

My question about lifting heavy.  I did that for years, and now I have a multiple bulging discs in my lower back.  I walk like Quasimodo the first 30 minutes of every day.  How should I lift heavy again so that I get the obvious benefits that you are saying here????

Hey thanks DC Cat!

So that's why I said "while you still can". I just got into my 30's and I've already had a couple major issues, including a bulging disc that culminated while trying to impress a girl in a crossfit gym several years back.

I have no issues now, but I do certain things like never go above a certain weight on lifts like squat and deadlift. Instead, I'll go for higher reps or the most I can do in a minute, whatever.

I don't lift a lot of weight, relatively. I'm built like a basketball player which is what I played most of my life, but for my weight I do pretty well. But I've noticed anytime I just do nothing but jogging or stuff like that for too long, I just feel weird. But you need to know your limits and don't exceed that.

Also, if you have a bulging disc, try hanging off a bar in the morning. Or any decompression. Feels amazing.

Thanks for the reply.  I'm built like a TE and have always lifted heavy, but did a lot of reps, if that makes sense.  Because of my bad knees I never did a lot of cardio outside of sports.  I find it really boring and after a few times in a row I quit.  What should my mindfocus be on for cardio?  During the summers I am outside all the time and active, but during the absolutely terrible months of winter, what could I do?

I have a thing I bought for my bike that turns it into a stationary bike. I've been using that all winter while watching netflix or whatever. I'll take a picture of it sometime.

Anyone work out at the Healthridge Genesis in Olathe? Random question.

Also, any update on Orange Theory? What's the average male/female ratio there? Just curious

OT update - Last week was the first week open.  Went 3 times, been twice so far this week with two more scheduled.  It's seems to be a great workout but I've never been much of an organized workout guy.  Days are always a bit different at least the weight floor portion. Usually 20-30 minutes on the treads, 30-40 between rowers and floor which is dumbells/TRX straps/etc.

Most seshes have been 5:1 female/male.  Doesn't bug me too much being the rando dude (usually older than average age too)

Sounds very cool. I will check it out. The whole sesh sounds a bit long to me but I'll have to give it a try.

One of the things these type of workouts miss is most men should still try to lift heavy while they still can. It up-regulates good hormones, and repetitive motions like marathons and high rep low weight workouts can actually raise cortisol... (I've ran marathons, this is not me being doucey) I'm sure it's great and will definitely check it out.

100% chance

It sounds like he's gone through a lot in the last few years.

Anyone have a home gym?

I'm not sure how that's a joke.

KK apparently said today that he would have been fired had he done the same thing.

Obvs encouraged more car keyings, letters, pocketbook hurtings, and general giving of the business.

36
Looking forward to that spacedog

Lots of good pocketbook talk ITT

Tate has a long and storied career of getting completely owned by KSU fans apparently

Quite the yarn he spun with that story, too. Riveting hat action.

39
Besides the sort of creepy blonde hair ex-surfer guy trying to get me to sign a 30 year contract, the place seemed great.

40
I hope his children have to switch schools. And then the next school isn't working out that well either.

I recently moved back to KC and didn't realize how nice that place had got. Like, geez luise. I used to use it just for the indoor basketball thingy, but now it has all kinds of stuff.

42
Hope you like the feeling of a hurt pocketbook, 810.

43
I was driving to work this morning and 810 was already on when the car started. NOPE, I said. Turned it to 610 IMMEDIATELY.

Probably won't go back, either.

Not wearing your fan gear to an opposing teams venue and then taunting a player on TV is weak sauce for anyone that is a known commodity.

especially one that likes to come off as if he doesn't really care all that much.

i admittedly have not followed this all that closely, but wasn't it all in good fun? a few frames before bukaty is holding up the box score, i saw sneed holding what appeared to be a stat printout in his hands while a woman in the front row was laughing. there was also some k-state fans directly behind them, who also seemed to be having a good time.

just seemed like good ol ribbing to me?  :dunno:

If it's a piece of paper this year, what's it going to be next year? Waving clipboards around? Don't you see where this goes?

45
I already switched over to 610 and told everyone I know to do the same thing.

This. Switch stations during your morning commute.  THEY WILL UNDERSTAND WHEN THEIR RATINGS APPRECIABLY DECLINE BY A MARKED PERCENTAGE.

Holy crap. Pix of those graphics?

They just made the digital boards look like the old school scoreboards like we had in high school with the light bulbs and the graphics package was like really old school Bramlage, they also used it on twitter.
