I'm not saying the lege wouldn't pass some other law to attack elections, but the way to prevent this particular bill (not yet a law, but will probably become one) from biting is to make sure you have a ton of paper ballots at each polling location in Harris County.

Harris County had issues keeping up with the amount of paper at polling places on election day, after the governor and state government restricted mail in balloting, which required more people to have to go to polling sites the day of the election.

They are becoming more bold on attempts to steal elections, we don't need to whitewash it.

Please, I'm not whitewashing anything. I know better than anyone that Texas has a well-worn history of pushing the boundaries and inviting lawsuits to test the boundaries of what they can get away with in the higher courts. This is just the latest episode. I was merely pointing out that Harris County has an avenue to prevent application of this would-be law in the future. I don't see how the state can apply this retroactively, though.

Again though, why wouldn’t they just lie about it and say any issue they want? That’s the point of this through and through… had they made it apply to every county in Texas… maybe I could buy an argument but strictly targeting a Democrat stronghold in Texas makes it pretty clearly the intent.

Yea, except as we clearly saw in 2020...the GOP just flat out lied about everything they could. So here is the real question, why wouldn't they say...oh we  heard "rumors" that these ballots were not there? Therefore, we will declare this election null and void...and say set up a new one on December 20th (after Safe Harbor date). It's a legal election folks , but we sent the electors for Team GOP just to be safe since you Harris County voters just can't be trusted.

Here is a quality question, Does anyone believe that the Texas GOP (whose calling Biden an Illegitimate POTUS), wouldn't just declare Harris County corrupt, if the Democrats won the state?

Here is an example the GOP would likely follow, The Brooks Brothers Riot in Miami Florida, ON November 19th 2000 which was a Republican Run operation.

Did you read the article? The headline makes the bill sound more sweeping than it is. That said, it's still BS.

Roe was settled Law and Double Precedent is something that was also said to people who they claimed that "you're overreacting"....Does anyone really believe that say Texas voted out Ted Cruz or Voted Democrat at the Presidential level...that the SoS wouldn't throw out the Harris county vote. Which strangely why single out that county...uh oh that's right it is a Democratic basket of votes. Furthermore, This Supreme Court would go along with it too and they'd laugh all the way to the new Gore vs Bush ruling.

This shouldn't even be a conversation or debate, this is hostage taking and nothing more. Notice that the Democrats don't touch this when they're not in the White House and it passes without fail. The GOP is using this point blank to extract as much pain as possible to cause either a complete depression by defaulting or a severe recession by spending cuts.

Here is something the GOP won't tell you is they don't care about Debt and Deficits while they're in office....also that they passed the Debt Ceiling 3 times under Trump. This is only something that happens under a Democratic Administration much like they did about a decade ago under Obama.

This conversation only adds fuel to the fire that the world should move on from the dollar...which oddly enough the GOP is putting ads out for.

The real issue here is quite honestly the Media is making this a horse race instead of what it really is a nuclear bomb with an idiot pounding on the button to detonate it. The media really needs to stop both siding this crap, this is a GOP caused crisis and should be treated as such this Debt Ceiling talk. The GOP is counting on the media to Both Sides the blame so they can do whatever they want with this round of painful spending cuts...such as aimed at Veterans which sorry the GOP doesn't have a leg to stand on, saying it's not true though it absolutely is, after the initially blocked the PACT Act, and celebrated that they did with fist pounding and cheers on the Senate floor.
Hell they're threatening the VA with Budget cuts now due to them saying it could result in 22% cut.

Need West Virginia to lose some games before I start getting excited about a big 12 regular season championship chase. I kinda wonder how we’ll do in the Big 12 Tournament. We’ll likely have win or finish runner up to get in the tourney. Since I’m about to have my 2nd child and I’m taking  time off work to watch him, I’ll maybe sneak in some time to watch the tournament.

I'm glad that Tucker got fired, he's a piece of crap, but it's very possible, about probable that he'll get replaced by someone more dangerous to the discourse. Tucker didn't care about anything other than making money and his primary appeal was to boomers who already hate anything and everything. He's going to be replaced by a younger, slicker taking millennial or woman who will put some polish on hating on LGBTQ, snatching food out of the mouths of poor people, and all these other culture war fights.

No one would really know what to do, even the militia groups out there begging for it. They still get their gas from stores, internet, hell Pizza Hut delivered. It's all LARPing to a lot of these people who are bored. Once the lights go out, gas/services stop.....you'll see the LARPers peel off, leaving the true believers remaining of which there are actually few. However, to answer the question...I'm off to Europe with my EU Wife, and kids who are dual citizens. I think there are a LOT of people who watch it who are not stupid at all. Many who watch are quite smart. However, I think that many are highly intolerant and bigoted. A fair amount are likely narcissists, sociopaths, or both. I mean, if you were a narcissistic sociopath which news station would you watch?

I don’t know, I think the fact they openly lied to their viewers and how their viewers practically don’t care says they’re fine being stupid, fed lies, and want to live in a safe space where inconvenient facts hurt their precious fragile feelings. I refer to it like this, We have a patient with stage 4 cancer (the GOP who is actively trying to dismantle everything it can), and a broken ankle (the Democrats). Both can be problematic but only the Democrats aren't trying to kill the US by throwing an Insurrection, saying COVID was an election day Virus, or trying to cause a debt default.  So which do you want to deal with, the ones who are Stage 4 and actively trying to detonate everything they touch, or a broken ankle which can hobble stuff but isn't going to kill you.

Plus Biden has done everything and more I could have dreamed of, PACT Act, Gun Reform, Infrastructure, CHIPs bill, 2 Reconciliation....even Galaxy brains like Newt Gingrich stated that Biden is eating the GOP's lunch on policy.
