I'm guessing Pringle was just auditioning for "Chief Doughnut Maker" for Dodge? Seems he would have been the perfect fit!

David G is awful on that show, total trainwreck. I'm sure he's a nice guy but he has zero business on that show. Troy Coverdale is fine enough but I've heard enough about Colorado and mountain region sports. Mitch is much better as a #2.

Totally agree. And it sucks as an out of state Cats fan because I used to listen to Kurtz and Mitch about everyday on my way home from work. David G is completely unlistenable. I thought they were supposed to be temporary stand ins after Kurtz left? Maybe no one else has auditioned. I am looking forward to Kurtz, DY and Manbeck's new podcast they're putting together. They said weekly, so I won't get my daily KSU sports fix, but I do enjoy the various podcasts out there.

Isn't the most plausible explanation that Howard has already decided that he's transferring and not playing anymore and will redshirt this year to have an extra year for wherever his path in life leads?  And that staff is cool with that as opposed to telling him to kick rocks now and making it a public thing?
Yeah, this is kind of where i’m at as well

So you're saying that a player who has already checked out, already decided to transfer after the end of the year, who dressed up in full pads, looked like he was warming up in the end of an FSN1 broadcast that showed him throwing on the sidelines, the coaching staff still keeps him in a "to go" type of situation just for show? Again, I don't pretend to know what the decision process was there but I think as a coaching staff, you put in your best option to win a gam at that time. To hell with redshirts and so sorry to mess up your opportunities at your next school, you play for K-State now dude

To me, neither of those situations are valid. You put in your best option to win the game no matter what. It's not like we were down 3TDs with no shot to win. Howard is a decent running QB, so go try to get the rough ridin' win. I don't get it.
So then you are of the mindset he’s injured and was dressed as an emergency 6th string QB?  As a fan it’s annoying AF to watch it go down like that, but we had no shot to win that game when Skylar went down, and we have no idea the discussions that have gone on about RS.

OK, I've been drinking, but I have no idea what you're asking here. I'm not talking about 6th string QBs, Howard is clearly the second string QB. Lewis is third based on playing time, Rubley is a ghost right now. You play your best backup in a close game to try and win the game. All I was saying is if we are so worried about burning a redshirt on a backup QB of the caliber of Will Howard, we must be mumped in our QB situation going forward.  With the new transfer portal thing, the worry about burning redshirts seems like a relic and teams like K-State needs to worry about the present and win games when you can. We were down 10 points with like 6 minutes left in the game.

OK, so someone who knows more about this team and their situation please tell me why we throw J Lewis over Howard out there when Skyler went out? I understand the 4 game limit and burning a redshirt, but one of the biggest rough ridin' games of the year (in the current situation) is on the line, we don't put our best option on the field? I can't imagine our coaching staff feels Lewis is the better option, so are we that screwed at QB in the future? Makes no sense to me  :dunno:

well, if you told me we'd hold BU to 20 i would have told you we squeaked out a win. As it were, we suck at football.

Rough day (so far) for Skylar.  He needed to be great to beat this defense, but his physical body is too limited.

But this is Skyler. He's still good for a crazy 60+ yard TD pass or a key 3rd, 4th down play that eventually scores. He's average 60% of the game, bad for 20% and outstanding for 20%.

I still think this freshman has an interception in him as good as he looks. Just need to hold them here and our offense to get a big play or two.
