Texas Tech logos and some derogatory comments were written on the buses in washable paint. One of the buses could not be locked. Inside of that bus, some type of animal excrement has been spread throughout.

Garrett Gilbert to transfer from Texas

By David Ubben

Texas quarterback Garrett Gilbert plans to transfer, the school announced on Wednesday.
Gilbert has been given an unconditional release from his scholarship to find another school.

Gilbert, a former high school national player of the year, came off the bench as a freshman to replace injured Colt McCoy in the 2010 BCS championship game that ended with a loss to Alabama.

He started every game in the 2010 season when Texas fell to 5-7 and missed a bowl game for the first time since 1997.

Gilbert was benched earlier this season after throwing two interceptions against BYU, a game Texas came back to win.

"This was a very difficult decision because I love The University of Texas and have had a great time playing there," Gilbert said. "I've talked to Coach [Mack] Brown, [offensive coordinator Bryan] Harsin and the staff and have decided it is in my best interest to transfer. I can't thank all of my teammates and everyone at Texas enough for all of their support, but I just think I'm at a point in my life where I need a fresh start."

Gilbert injured his shoulder in the season opener and underwent season-ending surgery after being benched.

"Garrett is a terrific young man and we are very appreciative of everything he has done for our program," Brown said. "I know this has been a tough decision, and I can't thank him enough for hanging in there, helping the younger guys and being a great team guy even after he hurt his shoulder. We talked about his decision and we all fully support him. Whatever school he decides to go to will get a guy who will work as hard as anyone and compete both on the field and in the classroom."

Texas plays Oklahoma on Saturday in Dallas at the Cotton Bowl at noon ET.

We were on the sidelines laughing like we were up by 14 — we knew the defense was going to get a stop and they were going to make a play," said the junior receiver. "We knew we were going to get back in the game, and we were going to win the game.

Whichever it is.  I love it!

One night, a few weeks before basketball practice started, Oliva invited Mark to come over. They watched a game in the living room, drank some beers, and talked about sports. But as the evening wore on, Oliva “started asking me about my girlfriend, what I did with her, stuff like that,” Mark says. Mark dutifully answered, and eventually Oliva stopped him. “He said, ‘Talking about this makes me horny. I think I got a porno around here somewhere,’?” Mark recalls. “And everything just kind of slowed down. He was sitting there, and he started jerking off. Then he said, ‘You can do it, too.’?” And then Mark, having consumed half a dozen beers and nervous about disappointing a man he revered, also began to masturbate.

The Dukes are certainly not lacking in that area. They have a swagger this preseason. They love to talk about how good they can be if all goes right.

They answered the all-important question without wavering.

Can you beat Kansas State?

"Of course," said Bowles, who traveled to K-State once during his A&M days.

"Yeah," Moore responded in a no-duh tone. "You always got to have confidence in yourself. That's the main objective for anything, you want to win, so you've got to have confidence."

"I can tell you, our players expect to win the game," Brady said. "That being said, that's no disrespect to Kansas State, but we think we have a good team, they're playing much harder than they did last year, if we can get balanced scoring, terrific defense and really good rebounding, we'll be in the game."

not last baby!

http://www.foxsportssouthwest.com/04/12/10/Ranking-the-Big-12-North-Quarterbacks/landing.html?blockID=214573&feedID=3742

1) Blaine Gabbert, Missouri:  Earned second-team All-Big 12 honors last year in his first year as starter, when he was only a sophomore.

2) Austen Arnaud, Iowa State:  Hometown product Arnaud had solid first year as Cyclones’ starter. His 561 rushing yards were also pretty impressive.

3) Zac Lee, Nebraska:   Double-threat Lee returns for senior year after helping lead NU back to national prominence in 2009.

4) Tyler Hansen or Cody Hawkins,Colorado:   This race likely won’t be determined until late in fall practice. awkins started first five in 2009 before Hansen replaced him.

5) Carson Coffman or Sammuel Lamur, Kansas State:  Coffman has edge in experience to replace Grant Gregory but former JUCO star Lamur is an interesting possibility.

6) Cale Pick or Quinn Mecham,Kansas: Todd Reesing’s departure leaves big shoes to fill. Pick has some
experience but JUCO transfer Mecham could make strong push.

It also had this to say about KSU

KANSAS STATE

LHC Bill Snyder’s team, which finished 6-6 last fall, headed to spring drills seeking a new starter under center. Grant Gregory is gone but there are a few candidates to replace him. Senior-to-be Carson Coffman has the edge experience wise. He played in six games last year, threw for 860 yards with 2 TDs and 4 INTs. He also knows the system and could likely make the leap from backup to starter without much fanfare.

Another option could be junior-to-be Collin Klein. As a sophomore, Klein played in 12 games but did so at either special teams or wide receiver. In fact, the 6-5 Klein made a pair of starts at wideout, but given how thin KSU is under center, he figures to again get a look this spring.

Sammuel Lamur is a redshirt junior who put up nice numbers in junior college as a freshman and sophomore. His brother Emmuanuel is also a Wildcat but lines up on the other side of the ball as a defensive back. K-State also added two freshmen QBs in Billy Cosh (6-2, 196) from Maryland who enrolled early and is going through spring practice along with fellow freshman Ty Zimmerman (6-2, 200) from nearby Junction City.

Running back Daniel Thomas, the 2009 Big 12 Offensive Newcomer of the Year, is the top returning receiver (257 yards). K-State will miss top two pass catchers Brandon Banks and Attrail Snipes. Senior-to-be Lamark Brown (215 yards, 2 TDs) is one who could step up along with sophomore-to-be Klein (38 yards, 1 TD).

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / The Nets want Coach K
« on: April 05, 2010, 09:56:29 AM »

Duke coach Mike Krzyzewski is at the top of the list and the Nets may offer Coach K the coaching and general manager jobs to secure his services at a price tag believed to exceed that of Lakers' coach Phil Jackson and put Coach K in the $12 to $15 million per year range, almost three times the NBA average.

Kansas State (2)

Best Case: Lincoln beards for everyone! Jacob Pullen becomes the furry face of March Madness, shooting brilliantly until Kansas State has reached its first Final Four since Tex Winter was the coach in 1964. Fellow guard Denis Clemente takes it from there, channeling Rolando Blackman 1981 by floating a baseline jump shot over Cole Aldrich at the buzzer to beat rival Kansas in the national semifinal. There's no topping that, though, and an emotionally spent K-State is beaten by Kentucky in the title game -- which is OK, winning the state title and avenging three losses to KU this season is prize enough. Pullen then announces that he's returning for his senior season, and eternally irate Miamian Frank Martin sweetly declares himself so in love with Manhattan that he signs a lifetime contract.

Worst Case:: Burdened by the school's highest seeding ever, cold-shooting K-State struggles past North Texas in the first round and is whacked by BYU in Round 2. Frank Martin spontaneously combusts like a Spinal Tap drummer the first time one of his big men misses a defensive assignment against the Cougars, which rather unnerves his players and leaves burn marks in front of the K-State bench. In a clueless search to replace the cooked Martin, the school panics and rehires Jim Wooldridge, operating on the premise that recycling an old coach worked in football. Kansas, of course, goes on to win another national title and lords it over Wildcats fans.
