Kansas State Football / Washington State has one thing going for it...

I've always wondered why there is a WSU flag at every gameday.  Pretty awesome article explaining it.  A+ message board innovation right here.

The idea that Gill, a former Nebraska star, could lose his job at Kansas after one season seems ludicrous.

But it will be discussed — and I mean by KU decision-makers — for two reasons.

First, the topic is on the table after consecutive losses to longtime doormat Baylor 55-7 and at home to rival Kansas State 59-7, the second more egregious because KU had 12 days to practice and K-State was coming off a 35-point loss to Nebraska.

The Jayhawks looked woefully ill-prepared and showed little effort in both games. Plus, Gill's postgame interviews were filled with long pauses and no concrete answers.

Second, Kansas is searching for a new athletic director. As abhorrent as it might seem, it is possible for those in charge to decide Gill's hiring was a mistake, end his term in November and allow the new A.D. to pick his own coach.

That is a bone-chilling scenario, but unfortunately it can't be dismissed.

Gill is getting pummeled nationally for his Victorian Era rules of no cell phones for players the 24 hours before a game and no female companionship after 10 p.m. every day.

Closer to home, Kansas State fans are taunting the Jayhawks by referring to Gill as “Ron Prince Jr.,'' a dig about the inexperienced and ineffective former K-State coach who was fired after three seasons.

Gill repeatedly used the word “faith'' during Monday's teleconference. He'll need all of that he can get to plow through what looks like a 2-10 season.

Lots of empty seats. OU up 10 to 9.

I thought it would be a better crowd today...

SD left the rest of the crowd outside in a pile outside, mostly with bloody crotchfaces

Just saw an ouhoops.com sign, referencing Fatty, hahaha

B12 not going to let KSU lose this game based on calls at this point of the season.

I don't believe we are this elite yet, but I appreciate that they do

That's cool to see Clemente out there cleaning the floor.

Make a shirt you racist fracks

Did you hear what the color man said when Pullen fouled Crocker? He said, "The officials felt Pullen got a little bit of his body." A little bit of his body??? He cut Tony's legs out from under him with a body block that would have made former OU safety Roy Williams proud. What an idiot!

It was a loose ball, and on the replay I'm not sure what the hell Crocker was trying to do other than run into Pullen

I think we were 0-for our last 10 offensive possessions between turnovers, missed shots and muggings.
:bawl:

Quote
Agreed. I like the way our offense looked in the first half. Hopefully we can repeat the performance, but score a few more points than KSU in the second half.

Wish these guys would cool off from beyond the arc.

Man Capel can recruit talent...a TF htting that shot? Capel is the TRUTH!

These refs are crazy. And I hate denny clemente.

I am sick and tired of seeing these freaking prayers go in from three. It only happens against OU and nobody else.

If he's talking Dom, it happened to Nubb  :dunno:. If he's talking Pull/Clem, it happens to everyone

Quote
Is it just me or can we not get a call from the refs for anything? WOW they should go to Vegas (K-State) casue they have all the breaks from the refs that anyone could ask for. I thought this game was in Norman but looks like K-State brought their stripes in my opinion.

They are unconscious as well from the three - that last guy hit from about 25 feet.

We did go to Vegas, they said the same thing

Quote
For my bracket, if K-state is a top 4 seed in any region they're a huge upset contender. If these guys are shooting cold away from Manhattan, they're very very beatable.

Top 4 seed  :pbj:

There's only one Big 12 team that I think is really any good right now. Kansas. The rest of the Big 12 is very average to bad. I don't care what rankings say, the quality of play in the Big 12 is really, really weak. Texas A&M might be the 2nd best team right now that tells you how weak the conference is.

Maybe the dumbest thing I have heard since Fire Bob Stoops.

^ I guess he said it so I don't have to

KSU looks pretty good to me..ask Capel when you see him

Kansas State Wildcats (18-4)
Home-court branding matters in college hoops (just ask Tom Izzo), and K-State is faced with the question of how much it wants to officially embrace the rapidly spreading nickname for rowdy Bramlage Coliseum: "The Octagon of Doom." What started as a message-board phenomenon and a series of unofficial tees is now being mentioned on ESPN, mainstream newspapers and even Mixed Martial Arts Web sites. Wildcats coach Frank Martin seems cool with it, telling the Kansas City Star, "It's a great thing. ... That's what's special about college athletics. It makes it fun and gives your team a shtick that players take and kind of bond with along with the fans."

Why not take it a step further, then, and brand the court with something similar to the tees? Everyone's done the giant half-court team logo by now, including Kansas, so why not scrap the Wildcat and set Bramlage apart with a center-court Octagon of Doom that every potential recruit will instantly recognize on TV? Take this mock-up and get working for next season ...
