Back to the three players Reno started this thread with.  Wainrights stats his freshman year at Penn Valley.  45.5% from three on 112 shots.  36% from three this year on 150 shots.
Trinity Valley Community College Head Coach Guy Furr:
“There are not enough good things that I can say about Amaad. He is a fantastic player who can do a little bit of everything, but he is an even better person off the court. I don’t know if there is a more excited person to be playing at K-State. He is just thrilled to be able to wear the Purple and White and follow in the footsteps of his grandfather and brother and play in the Big 12. He fills up the stat sheet. Some nights he would lead us in scoring, some nights in rebounding or some nights in assists. He is very unselfish and a great teammate. Simply, Amaad is a winner on and off the court.”

Penn Valley?

PENN VALLEY??

When do you start not caring enough to stay out of this thread? I realize that by receiving feedback to your posts, I'm probably giving you the idea that you should keep posting. Don't interpret that way.

Ditto.

I'm committed to analyzing and maybe even enjoying watching the players on this team and pretty sure I'm not going to have an effect on who coaches them for the next 8 or 9 months.  I have no problem if you don't like these players.  Thats how you roll.

What if we all did what you are doing?

The administration would view it as we love the way the program is headed - they are making money while the team is just below the MEH level.  Why change course?

You see?

Ran into him on Friday at the Vegas Summer Pro League.  He was there to watch Thornwell and Dozier.

He trippin' so much, fans gonna begin to think he done fell off!

Man! Can you imagine where we'd be on the pecking scale if he was still here?

What a mismanaged clustercopulation that we are left with Gomer Pyle after running off Gunny Highway.

Sorry, What does Weber have with me being a KSU basketball fan.  I was a fan before Weber got here and will be one after he is gone.

Imagine your Mom (or wife) delivering you a daily meal after a hard day's work, gradually starts introducing unpalatable elements onto the plate. One year, it's steak and a side of lima beans. Next year, it's medium-rare liver with a side of maggots. The next year is a main course of a dense link of poop with a side order of barely fried worms.

At which point would you send the order back?

This is the state of KState basketball. We cannot allow this to continue. We cannot pretend a large link of steamy poop is something that can be swallowed by pretending it is "Hyena, Killdog, Mantool, Seasoned Meat, or Grit."

Do you understand?

Last year in January people were starting to get tingly sensations in KSU BB willieweasels as we start good in conference, and nearly beat KU in chicken house.  Then DJamer got hurt or slowed.  Hothorndog to the rescue.  Failure.  Hell February.  Why?  No backup.  Williams quit and Love was using the boot.  Now we hAve 5 guys who can play the center position and 3 power forward.  No longer does Claws have to be a post guy.  I think this will help him to play with more abandoned fervor.

Nobody cares anymore.

34
I'll go with the 247 composite so only one four star on this team.

Point established that Oscar has, in balance, reduced the KState Men's basketball program in both performance and stature.

35
These secondary players will allow core Cats to blossom.

Much like a mushroom sprouts from a moist turd.

36
although I was pretty satisfied with the team we had in Martins last two years and Webers first year..
I don't know how this team will do this year in the post season or if they even make the post season but I'll be watching.  New administration with no former allegiance will make the program decisions.

The teams Oscar has built (and been able to keep) are nowhere close in talent level to just the team Oscar inherited from Frank. There is no reason to think this team will appear in the NCAA tournament much less make an Elite-8-level run.

The apathy comes from us knowing that this program was heading nowhere under Oscar for several years prior to Currie's departure. So now we have to wait until the new AD figures out that Oscar is over-matched at the Power 5 level? How long will that take?

That's why we can no longer care.

37
And toward my original question....when can we expect to see another Elite Eight type run from this program?

38
Sorry, Didn't think you were really wanting to know.
Rivals rankings listed below.
Xavier Sneed. Small forward. 4 STARS. Hazelwood Central Florissant,
Claws. Power forward. 4 STARS. Saint John Saint John, KS

ESPN's more realistic ranking would disagree...

Three stars...

No stars...

39
Who?  Well at least you are discussing basketball.

Who are the 4 stars on this team?

40
We have a couple of four star players on the team now.

Who? Stars earned for spelling your name correctly in Kindergarten don't count.

41
What part of, "Nobody cares anymore" do you folks not comprehend?

This isn't anger at Oscar, revenge for Frank being run-off, or angst at Currie's mismanagement of people.

We can't muster the interest in the program anymore.

The administration doesn't seem to care that the team hasn't mustered a meaningful run in the post season in 7 years. There are no top flight McDonald's All American players coming to Manhattan anymore. When players leave the program, voluntarily or not, they don't go to Power 5 schools. They end up at lower tier programs or even jucos.

What kind of excitement can that mediocre effort at assembling excellence generate?

We don't care anymore. We can't.

42
I care deeply about KSU basketball and like the players on this years team.  Some places that is called being a fan.  Sorry you don't care about the players on this years team and let your hatred of Weber cause you not to be a fan.

Three interesting players with some skills, strength, experience and maturity is what this thread is about.  These three guys are going to add some dynamics to this team.

Also, if you don't care anymore, I struggle to understand why you care enough to tell everyone or even read this thread.

If you cared "deeply" about Kansas State Men's Basketball, you'd be committed to the idea of freeing these players from the prison they are incarcerated in by ridding the program of the stench of mediocrity that follows oscar Weber around like the aura around a 2 dollar whore trolling the streets of Houston on a sweltering summer night.

We once aspired for more. We can again.

That's why I drop a steamy log on putrid posts like this.

43
Nobody cares anymore.

44
Has a white person ever been arrested for driving with a suspended license?

Yes. I have been, and it was by a black officer.

45
did Frank mow his own yard?

case closed

He went out once a week and demeaned the grass personally to the point that it refused to continue growing.

46
Heard from a fairly ITK source this weekend that Mr. Ice and others are very good friends with oscar and are 100% behind him still being here. Also, if he continues to fart out anything remotely close to the NCAA bubble, basically anything around .500 overall, his job is completely safe as long as he wants to coach here.

That kind of nonsense motivates me to make my business interests SO profitable that I can wave more dollars in the face of Gen. Meyers than the Ice family so he will act in my best interests rather than theirs.

America!

47
What is your favorite way to spend the millions you make ensuring that Kansas State never sniffs a Final Four?

http://www.kansas.com/sports/college/big-12/kansas-state/article149796944.html

“You find the kids you think are good fits for Kansas State that have some talent,” Weber said. “Rodney McGruder, Westicles, D.J. Johnson, guys like that that want to come here and work their tails off and end up being really good players. A couple of them, potentially, are now going to be in the NBA. Those are the type of kids you want to get in the program, players that Kansas State fans are proud of.”

I one fell-swoop, Oscar takes credit for recruiting Rodney and putting him (potentially a couple of them) in the NBA.

“We can recruit everybody, but who can you get? That’s the biggest key,” Weber said. “We have tried on a lot of those (high-profile) kids, I promise you. We try and we will keep trying, but they have got to want us, too. You have to make your own evaluations and find out who wants to come to K-State.”

I'm trying - I promise...we want to get those high-profile kids, but it's their fault for not wanting us!

49
That WOULD matter if anyone cared about men's basketball anymore.

They've killed my interest level.

50
oscar has improved two seasons in a row.

Folks here don't want improvement, they want Frank.

Not true. When Currie ran Frank off, I admitted the truth, that we were topped-out offensively under Frank. It was time for an upgrade.

But going with a just-fired-for-losing Big 10 coach was the wrong answer.
