He's off the sauce.

I hope that's all it is.  It's bizarre... everyone else is pretty conversational and discussing different points relating to the game/program and when they throw it to DScott it sounds like a robot reading at a 5th grade level from a script. He doesn't sound well at all.

27
I've listened to a couple of the GoPowercat podcats with Fitz and Co recently.  I ask this in all seriousness with no malice... Did something happen to DScott over the last couple years that I'm unaware of? Like did he have a stroke or something like that?  There is a VERY noticeable difference in his speech and mannerisms compared to the other people on the podcast.

Leach and Malzahn would be two top targets for me.  Auburn would have to let Malzahn go, but they are delusional enough to do it.

Have lots of friends who still coach H.S. football in TexAZZ, Okie-Homer and Ark.

Many coaches in Ark. hold Missy Gussie Mala-Zone personally responsible for getting Houston Nutt fired. Nutt was highly respected in Ark, Mo, Tenn, Ok, TexAzz if for no other reason than what he, his father and brothers did at Ark School for the Deaf.

Remember that Nutt is the only Razorback Coach to take Ark to SEC Championship game - twice.  And then Gussie pissed a great many H.S. coaches off while he was Ark. St. with a seriously shitty attitude.Gussie and his wife both proclaim that GAWD picked him to lead AWE-Burn. (easy to look up)

Leech had a pretty crappy reputation among west TexAzz and SW Okie-Homer coaches even before the Co-Murderer of SMU football,
Craig James, stuck his criminal nose into TT football because his lazy son cried to DADDIE with DADDIE's ESPN Power

Funny how both Leech and Mala-Zone have as much trouble hanging onto Asst. Coaches as Pawn Rince, formerly of KSU and Howard.

What does Malzahn's tenure at Arkansas State have to do with Houston Nutt?  Houston Nutt was retired at the time.

If he answers I hope he types in the same gibberish.

Brian Hanni is a bigger dork on the internet than he is on the radio LOL

Brian "The Booth" Hanni.  It seems most of their fanbase would rather listen to animals being tortured than him.

Les is doing Hawk Talk Live right now on ESPN+. They're at Johnny's Tavern and he's just sitting their eating a full meal on camera while the host tries to talk to him. Every time he gets asked a question he looks angry he has to stop eating
"Time of possession was 38 minutes to...i wanna say...17 minutes and some change..."

 :dunno:

I think he just made his kids do it so he could leave.

They've got Smacker Miles in this!?!?!? I may have to subscribe...

No Smacker.  When I tuned in it was his sons sitting there answering questions bout some sort of weird crap Les does at home or something. I turned it off long before I figured out what they were talking about. I think maybe a sandwich was involved.

Could even make a 12 team work with top 4 getting a bye.  Run it like the NFL playoffs.  11 meaningful games.  Would be GLORIOUS.

Duggan is hurt. He might be ok to play but apparently TCU has like 9 rough ridin' quarterbacks.

Serious question, what would it take to reach a breaking point to actually drop football? Say the NCAA comes down hard on KU athletics. Say multi year postseason ban, loss of scholarships, recruiting restrictions... the works. Les Miles experiment fails spectacularly, revenue drops in basketball because of the sanctions and football continues being a black hole of suck for another 5 years.

Does the conversation realistically take place?
I bet it's like fielding a losing baseball team in the MLB.  There is so much TV money that you can't lose (but you are also a laughing stock).  I'm sure Dax has some spreadsheets on the breaking point financially.  I mean the only other teams to really talk about it are like, UConn right?  I mean woof, but their conference wasn't doing them any favors like the Big 12 is for KU football.

Probably spot on with the revenue deal but is there still a minimum attendance figure needed to stay in "D1". -- FBS teams also have to meet minimum game attendance requirements (average 15,000 people in actual or paid attendance per home game)

Are there any potential scenarios... and I mean ANY where we would get to play Nebraska? I don't care where it would be played.

BUMP -  Rumors swirling that Alex has left the TCU program. Patterson down to drawing straws for starting QB this weekend.

What happened to the freshman?  Did he get injured?
It's a crap show down there.  https://www.dallasnews.com/sports/tcu-horned-frogs/2019/11/01/quarterback-justin-rogers-reportedly-transferring-from-tcu/

Academically used barely squeezed into the conference. I actually think they made a few exceptions. We obviously didn’t want you for your football team so I’d start concentrating on academics or you may not have a choice and be booted. I highly doubt Texas and the big 12 will let you back in but maybe the Mac or mountain west would be an option? Plus those two conferences you’d have a great opportunity to win consistently which is what matters to most fans on this board.

I would assume one thread would be enough to consolidate all the KSUcks bashing over at the Phog but apparently it takes like 6 different threads. they do NOT like us taters.

A good friend of mine is related to his ex wife and actually attended a tailgate that BTK attended. Didn't remember talking to him though.  It's just a small dang world ain't it?

What ever happened to that Wacky Cat guy that used to visit the Phog and get in arguments with everyone? Wasn't he some kind of enrollment counselor at Brown Mackie or something? As I recall, those threads provided some quality entertainment up until old Wacky would get too worked up, fly off the handle and then see himself out.

Alex Delton, former KSU qb, is garbage. TCU routinely overlooks us. Coming from a G5 conference, I imagine they put all their efforts into beating the bigger names to try and prove themselves and they sleep walk with us. Idk if they'll do that after losing last year and SMU kicking their asses, but i like our chances. 11am kickoff @ a team with less than stellar support is a great chance at a win.

I know we hate moral victories but last week + BC at least gives the guys confidence that we CAN win. We havent had that in awhile.

We are too good for the Camping World Bowl. Try again, ESPN.

Camping World is the 2nd bowl slot for the Big12.   Plus it would be vs ACC trash. Trip to Florida in Dec + a guaranteed victory.  WOULD TAKE

I don't understand why some of you are putting stock into ksu as if they are some great team or something just because they're off to a 3-0 start

If MSU starting QB is not hurt in that game I believe ksu would have lost,, with thier starting QB playing hurt they still almost pulled off a win against ksu and they are probably the worst team in the SEC this year

I think WV, KSU, Tech, and Iowa State (looks like they took a slide back from a year ago) and perhaps TCU are our best shot at conference wins. On a side note I watched the Okie State/Tulsa game and was not overly impressed with OSU, we may have a shot at the Cowboys as well although I would expect that to be a loss.. OU/UT/Baylor are the three games I think we have no shot at winning, we have a chance against everybody else

I had to add this... from Miles being asked about the matchup tonight.

Quote
Miles was also asked about the biggest challenge going against that kind of an offense.

"Well, it's to get numbers to the ball and making sure that we match their intensity and play physical football ourselves," Miles said. "We have some advantages. We'd like to play on the advantage side of things."

Can anyone think of any possible advantage KU has anywhere on the field... like at all?  Punter?

I believe that the reason he took the job was for money.  As in, he was broke.  I bet he has succumb to numerous phone and email scams and has exhausted his financial reserves.

After watching the ESPN series I got the feeling Miles really wanted to coach again but nobody would touch him.  He took the KU job basically because it was the only one available and he also assumed it would be as simple as him showing up to start turning it around and go out as a coach who orchestrated an amazing turnaround in his swan song.

I also think Jeff Long only wanted him from the word go assuming pretty much the same thing.  They worked together in Michigan. He knew the KU fans would be super excited about the hire and he could get more money out of donors with the big name.  It didn't sound like he wanted to talk to ANYONE else seriously.

Part of me thinks Miles is walking around knocked out on his feet and completely stunned and has no clue what the eff he's going to do to fix anything.
