Kansas State Football / Re: Ranking of desired landing spots
« on: June 08, 2010, 01:49:46 AM »
1)  Am I the only one who didn't know Get Hit was an old lady?  Weird.  2)  As long as we get to keep Frank and are able to compete at a national level in b-ball, I am all about a move to a strengthened MWC.  It'll probably pick up the BCS spot vacated by the defunct Big 12, and we could easily win 8-9 football games a year (including non-con) in that conference.  Plus, the baseball team could prob win that conference pretty handidly.  Couple that with some nice 'pak locales and we have a winner.

This is all assuming that our recruiting remains the same in MWC. I think conference has a lot to do with what players come there, just look at the style of play in Big East basketball compared to that of the SEC, much more physical. We will lose recruits, and saying we can stay the same just in a different conference might be a bit farfetched, anyone else agree??

What part of "I'm not here to answer the questions." Makes you ask another question? rough ridin' Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!)...

His front-butt is priceless, reminds me of my 3rd grade teacher Ms. Taylor. Notice she isn't a Mrs.

Would we have a rivalry with Texas if we only played them in football every 4 years? We essentially play them every other year. It makes sense to do that, but it also sucks for making rivalries, which would be necessary in a new conference.

9704
They can deny it all they want, but they aren't going anywhere without us.

Would Superman (KSU) have a rough ridin' TV show without Lex Luthor (KU)?

Here's an idea...    :users:

Thanks for posting that, I haven't laughed that hard since I was a little girl.

Wtf, merge athletically and play football in Topeka? I think I'd rather be part of the Missouri Valley...

Perkins and John Currie, the K-State athletic director, said Tuesday that both schools were committed to the Big 12 and to each other. Currie said the Big 12 “will continue to be strong and viable.”

Perkins went out of his way to say KU wanted to stay tied to K-State.

“We have such great respect for K-State, and our relationship is getting stronger and stronger,” he said. “We think we have to be in the same footprint with K-State. That’s important to us.”

He also fears traditional rivalries at the local and regional levels would lose their flair. That’s why, no matter what happens, he sees value in remaining in the same conference as Kansas.

“I think our two institutions are linked together …,” Currie said. “We have a terrific relationship at an administrative level with KU.

“I know our president and their chancellor are relatively new, and are both committed to working together proactively to serve our constituents. I know me and Lew Perkins have spent a lot of time talking together about things we can do to strengthen both of our institutions.”

We need the $$$, ron prince isn't going to pay himself!

If anything you should be pissed and Krause and Wefald :bang:

Leave Krause out of this

That bastard spilled a beer on my at Tapwerks, a beer that I probably bought most of. Regardless, we didn't REALLY move it to Thursday night on FSN to make money, did we? If so...  :bang:

Both Mason and Mangino had years where KU finished or was ranked in the top 10 at one point.  Mason went to a couple bowls, while Mangino won three bowl games and took KU to four.  I'd say that's pretty decent success given the relatively short time period each coach was in Lawrence.  Yeah, they both ultimately failed, but the bottom line is that two coaches have been successful at KU, while Snyder is the only guy that can get the job done for K-State.

Case in point.

What if Coffman and our D look like they did during the spring game and we're actually pretty good?  Like 8-4 good?

We've been over this bro, Coffman "tore up" our second team defense and our first team defense tore up an offense that had 1/2 a quarterback...

Hey fatty, wanna light up sometime soon? It's cool if you don't, but I'll drive to Taco Bell after?  :bigtoke:

9713
Will the NCAA "do" anything with the school that invented basketball and Kentucky, no. Is it a major recruiting problem, yes. Bfd if the NCAA has sanctions, it's out of our hands. It is in my hope that Frank at some point bends the rules (It's only cheating if you get caught,) and we figure our crap out. If you're not cheating I guess you're not trying... right? I mean, c'mon, we have a better team than KU does next year, who cares if it is legal or not, theirs probably isn't either!

9714
I'm good friends with the security guard Thomas. He recently got promoted, and sometimes will let me sit on top of the rail at football games... does that help  :dunno:?

9715
Bottom line, Morningstar was not on scholarship for at least one year (maybe two??) if I'm not mistaken. So... what part of his dad selling tickets and using that money to pay for his walk-on membership to the team isn't an NCAA violation? Come on, he might as well been on scholarship.

Is no one else seeing a problem here? That's an added benefit... especially if Lew is in on it. I'm not saying he is, but c'mon, it's hard for him to not see that kind of stuff missing. If there's smoke, there's probably a fire...

9716
So let me get this straight...

Powerhouses in football like Auburn and Alabama do this, win major bowl games, and we are supposed to feel bad about doing it too?

Also, Prince signed a shitload of players, which Bill will probably cut back on. Our numbers will go down, but yeah, that girl definitely doesn't have a boyfriend.

9717
.
Kansas guard Sherron Collins was scheduled to participate, but pulled out due to an injury sustained during the Chicago combine.

Omg, what a shocker...

Quite Frankly I dont care lol.. We have a guy named Bryce Brown- good solid player.

Oh, a 5-star if I remember correctly. 5 > 4

9719
Beems are you upset that we don't like your new coach? Get over it. Mangino was a good coach, but he had problems outside of game days. Sorry you guys didn't have a legendary coach to revive your skid mark of a football program... Good luck with Gill. Oh, and thanks for the easy W in Lawrence in a few months, although I'm sure you'll have jumped off the Gill bandwagon by then...

Ingram is a Junior, so they won't put him on the board since he technically doesn't have to leave... Richardson (Ingram's backup) is only a Sophomore, right?

Hey, wake up people.

Remember when Pullen went off early in the year and we were all  ?

Yeah, well, he just had a CAREER HIGH 34 points last game, and was hot against UNT too. This is the best he's played all season.

Jake/Denis are our ticket to the Elite 8, and they are both on playing out of their minds. We don't have any reason to believe that they will shoot poorly and we will struggle against Xavier.

Tapwerks = Happiest place on Earth.

Went there with about 5 buddies Saturday around noon, ended up staying until 5 or so.

Waitress was just clueless, we ordered about 8 beer towers (lionshead, of course) and she gave us a ticket for 5 of them. After paying for some beer, and drinking some off of KStateBate,  Dean Bosco saw me drinking  :pbj:, and scolded me for being underage. The band played, a stellar performance to my drunken ears, and we stumbled off to go to the games.

Tried to get back in after the game, but they were charging a cover. Seems they didn't want so many EMAW hooligans in their bar anymore?
