PLAY THE DRUM HARDER YOU SON OF A BITCH!!!

He once threatened to kick me out of band (which would give me an F, and lose my scholarship) for missing a practice to visit my mother after a surgery. A TA told me it was fine to miss and would clear it with Tracz, I had to have about an hour long meeting with him about how I let everyone down and how I would likely not amount to anything in life due to my disrespect for my peers. Pretty insane crap to tell an 18 yr old whose mother was battling cancer IMO

Current drum major just quit very publicly on FB, and people are coming out alleging toxic abuse from Dr. Tracz. We'll see how it plays out.
link? I know some young people who are current members of the band and love band / Dr Tracz but not everyone has the same experience, of course.

Would love to see a screen grab of this.

I was in the band for 2 seasons at KSU. Can confirm Tracz can be pretty abusive towards some kids.

Scotcharoos might be my absolute number 1 favorite trashcan food. Will eat an entire pan in a day without hesitation.

some buds and I started a KCBS bbq team last year and just took 2nd overall at a comp last weekend. Pretty satisfying!

admittedly it's a weird hobby and I kind of hate the judging aspect of it, but hanging with buds a few Saturdays a year is pretty fun.

Unless you are throwing away something ungodly on a regular basis the 12 cleans a year seems like massive overkill.  The cost is basically nothing though so I guess YOLO.

Yeah I think if I did it I’d just do a single clean for like $25. My bins are probably 10+ yrs old and we’re pretty rank when we inherited them from the previous owners.

How much do you get charged for a trash bin cleaning?

The company my neighbor uses is $150/yr for 12 cleans.

Have not looked into how much it costs to just get new bins.

I don't have sidewalks in my neighborhood

Probably belongs in the white people thread, but has anyone gotten their trash cans cleaned? I’m considering it. Ours smell terrible in the summer.

Tell me about this citi bike Karen. Did she really pay for the bike? Did someone take it from her? Should she be #Canceled?

(My entire knowledge of the incident is skimming through a news article this morning and I couldn't tell what exactly happened)

I don't think there's anything definitive that exonerates her based on the video or even if her lawyer provides receipts but the way she went from being very belligerent to fake crying back to being belligerent isn't a great look for her.

FWIW I ride citibike multiple times a week and am around stations all the time and I have never seen a confrontation over a bike

I'm pretty torn on this one tbh. The video looks *not great* for her. however now she's come out with "proof" that the bike was in fact hers. How important that is, I'm not sure. She should have just gotten off the bike and gotten a different one for sure. But, I don't think there's anything inherently racist about this, and I definitely don't think she should lose her job over it.

Whatever you do, don't get a front loading washer. absolutely hate ours.

wut

I've never spent more time cleaning an appliance than I do cleaning that thing. No matter what it gets moldy and smelly. We always leave the door open, doesn't seem to matter.

LMAO why would a vintage clothing store think they'd see any sort of revenue increase from the draft?

I'm guessing because they were told that 300,000 people would bring in $125 million of revenue?

Still find it ridiculous that stores that are typically not a destination where out-of-towners would spend money, are pissed at the government/mayor for this. Very small town thinking. People came here to do one thing, go to the draft, where they have food and booze available literally all day long. I'm sure $100 mil was spent, but it was spent at the draft and on hotels/lodging.

Did these biz owners expect the mayor to line out how the money was going to be spent? Knowing/anticipating your demo is a massive part of owning a business, having a down weekend sucks, but it's part of owning a business.

If you had a restaurant/bar near streetcar or hotels you probably saw an increase, that's about it.

Del Forge played in 14 games and a freshman played over him at RG.  No way CU has a worse OL than KU did last year and they averaged 35 a game.  Having a crap ton of offensive weapons can overcome mediocre line play.  They will use their playmakers in space and utilize Sanders running ability to help out the OL.

KU's OL is better than you're giving it credit for, tbh.

Yeah agreed, KU put together a pretty nice line last year.

In a separate interview, the Athletic's reporter said CU has lost about 70 scholarship players since Primetime took over. At this point, they've filled about 50 of those slots through transfers, incoming freshmen, etc. (again, according to the reporter). So, between now and the start of the season, they'd need to find about 20 scholarship players to get back to the max.

Being down 20ish scholarship players is a pretty big number, but is also probably similar to what frontbutt charlie and other KU coaches faced during their series of rebuilds.

ok, so not as bad as I had thought. Still, in one offseason replacing 70 players is insane. Having 20 open slots going into May is a pretty daunting task.

IMO there has been way too much talk about this.  Literally all of these players leaving are shitty.  He can fill the holes with equally shitty or slightly better players in the portal no problem.

They have almost 50 players to replace. That's an incredibly tough task, especially as a staff that largely has never done it at this level before.

They have 87 players listed on the roster on the website. This includes incoming 2023 HS signees.  Are you saying that only 35 of the players listed on the roster are scholarship players?

or maybe they haven't updated their website since all the transfers the last 2 days?

I don't know honestly, I don't follow CU football, I'm just restating things I've seen written in articles/online.

Prime is so petty he won’t release film for players transferring out of the program, seems like he’s not going to let their profile linger on the website.  Could be a backlog of 40 guys to scrub from the website though I guess.

again, these aren't my numbers. They're coming from The Athletic, who I assume has a better idea of what's going on at CU than a bunch of goEMAW bros

Sorry, 70(!!!) players. I don't follow the portal at all, but I find it hard to believe they're going to be able to find 70 players that are better than the ones they lost. They'll be able to upgrade at a few positions, but they have to essentially teach an entirely new team how to play together.
