Pretty sure the only two Big 12 programs to win BCS Bowls in the last four/five years are KU and Oklahoma.  Gill's salary was in the top 30 nationally.  It's far from the worst job in the Big 12.

Well, if you want easy money for no work then I guess maybe you're right.  Is that what you mean by not the worst job?  Because in terms of dollar per victory, nothing can compare.

I do have to laugh a little at Beems take given that ku hired Don Fambrough twice: Tthey brought him back after he went 16-17 his first time around, and when you consider that 2 out of their last 3 hires were Terry "NIU" Allen and Turner "Losing Record at Buffalo" Gill.

And Mason quit (twice), stepping up the ladder to take the worst job in the Big 10.

Minnesota is not the worst job in the Big 10.

If there is one thing Ben knows, it's being the worst job in a conference

KU is not the worst job in the Big 12.

omg

It's a better job than Iowa State and K-State.  Probably on par with Baylor, Texas Tech, and TCU.

Keep these gems coming Ben!!!!!

Then in 2008, we fired our coach and no one really cared about the game and we still beat the clones.  Then THAT coach won a national championship at Auburn.  What a garbage program

I don't care about non-revenue sports unless we're winning Big 12 titles in them.  Is that clear enough for you?  I mean, JFC... there's a board on this site titled "sports we don't care about unless we are winning."  Why would I be any different?

Remember in 2002 when the clones had Seneca Wallace, their all time best football player?  And then we won like 86-4 or something.

Top three candidates right now are:

Mark Stoops
Larry Fedora
Pat Fitzgerald

 :dunno:

Tim is a more likey candidates than Pat

KU's private jet was in Chicago yesterday.  Fitzgerald might just be using KU to get a better contract at Northwestern, but there's something going on there.

That sure is one busy plane. Keys Tuesday, chicago Wednesday. Sucks that after all that flying they'll have drive back from KCI

Yeah, it's just impossible that KU is doing a coaching search right now.  Simply impossible.  I doubt we can even afford a private jet.

What does that have to do with anything I said?
OMG 18-1 is killing you! Just killing you.

Yeah, all of those losses in women's water polo are just killing me.

We don't have a water polo team  :dunno:

Maybe you are thinking of football, basketball, women's basketball, baseball, track and field, golf, tennis, rowing, cross country or volleyball?

Sorry, I stopped reading after football and basketball.

Yet you keep bringing up Big XII titles in non-revenue sports.  You're all over the place this week.  It's cool, I know things are rough and this is a big defense mechanism.

Let's see if you can figure out the difference between Big 12 titles and head-to-head victories against Team A.

Bro, you either care about non-revenue sports or you don't.  Which is it?

Jim Leavitt is your best bet at this point KU

Anyone honestly think he can get the same caliber of athlete he got at USF?  'Cause I don't.  Still, a good hire if they get him.

Pffft...Leach owned Snyder.

Meh.  Lame talking point.  A lot of people owned Snyder in 2004-2005 and 2009.  Big deal.

Would love CTR on thanksgiving. o well

A lot of Tucks would really get bent out of shape about this.  "Football is not more important than my family Thanksgiving etc."

Luke Fickell would be a pretty good pickup for the Jayhawks. :dunno:

He is staying on staff at OSU.

Wouldn't he rather be a head coach, though?

Hmm, stay on staff with Urban Meyer and win a few BCS titles or go to Lawrence and get destroyed and fired in 2 years.  Tough call there.

Whoa... this place just exploded into an all-out circle jerk.  Time to sit back and enjoy the fireworks!

you really celebrate weird things.  like 2-10 seasons and not getting Mike Leach.  Why do you   not getting Mike Leach?  So strange.

Curious to see how much you guys paid/pay for housing in college.  I am currently paying 320 a month for a 6 bedroom 3 bath house.

split 6 ways?  so like 1920 total rent?

If I were Leach, my list of jobs I'd want would be:

1. Arizona St.
2. UCLA
3. Ole Miss
4. Illinois
5. Kansas
6. Washington St.

But that's just me.  I know Leach is a crazy Pirate who does whatever the heck he wants.

there are only two coaches i can think of who would transcend Ws and Ls if they coached at kstate:  mack brown and rick neuheisel.  there is no losing with those two.

At UCLA:
4-8
7-6
4-8
6-6

Great Jedi mind trick by Mellinger

@ApexToApex Are the talent levels of KU & KSU’s football teams THAT close, as you say you were informed by NFL scouts?
Yeah, I believe so. K-State’s talent is underrated because LHC LHC Bill Snyder is a beast, but outside of Arthur Brown, Nigel Malone and maybe a few others, there’s not a lot of just natural playmaking. Collin Klein is three levels of badass, but I also think he benefits more than anyone from Snyder’s coaching.
Here’s another way to look at it…KSU will be 10-2 if it beats Iowa State. With a normal coach? Maybe they’re 7-5 or so. KU is 2-10. With Snyder, it’s easy to see them going 6-6 or so.

If Gill coached K-State, you guys would probably be 3-9/4-8.  If Snyder coached KU, we'd probably be 7-5/8-4.

maybe.  but that doesn't support the idea that the teams have equal talent.  which was the original discussion.

Broxton seems like a decent pick-up.

Now Crow can go get torched as a starter again.

Do not want.  Crow needs to be in bullpen

It's really confusing watching Ben celebrate after a 2 win season.  Personally I would suggest a little more humility, but that's just me I guess.
