You have got to pay what they want or it's just going to get worse.  Get 2nd jobs.  Sell what you have to sell...etc...  There really isn't a magic poo poo pill that will un-f*ck her/you.   Sounds like if collections is calling this should have been addressed months ago.

yeah before her and I met she was somewhere between "irresponsible" and "reckless" when it came to her spending habits.  Since I've met her she has seen the error of her ways and to her credit she is trying really hard to dig herself out of this hole.  But it's a huge hole.  I'm afraid the harsh reality is she (we) can't "pay them what they want" so i'm trying to figure out what happens next.  They can call her all they want but it's not like it's a matter of convincing her to give them the money...she just straight up doesn't have the money to give. 

I'm just wondering what it is they are likely to do about it.  Should she expect things to get litigious or are they just relentlessly harassing her in the hopes she will somehow pay them what they want?  Do regular people racked with student loan debt get taken to court over this on a regular basis?

No. Don't be a coward. Face this like a man. You might have to stop buying expensive food and clothing. Stop buying your new fancy cars and touch screen phones. I don't know your whole story but I'm sure you can make it work.

No running now...she's already mrs. hub.  Needless to say, she is not a purpleladycat b/c then we'd both be  and she wouldn't be in this situation, but we didn't meet until we were both out of college.

Could really use some advice here guys...basically this story started right after high school when the future mrs. hub decided she was going to go to the finest colleges money could buy.  Skip ahead a few years and she, like many people ages 25-33, has found herself up to her eyeballs in student loan debt with a job that, on her current trajectory, will allow her to pay off her debt by the time she's 125.
Anyway, she's gone through a cycle of debt consolidation and even after that she still has like 4 different loan payments she has to make each month from a variety of private and federal lenders.
So anyway, one of these private lenders has unleashed the collection agency on her.  The current sitch is that the lender is "no longer willing to negotiate" and her 2 options are 1) pay $5000 in 3 weeks, then resume normal outrageously high interest monthly payments or 2) pay off the loan in full over the next 24 months.  And the outstanding balance is something like $45,000...no way in hell that is happening in 24 months.

So like, does she have any recourse but to meet their outrageous demands?  Even with my help she couldn't come up with 5k in the next 3 weeks, but even less likely than that is her being able to pay off 45k in the next 24 months.  Because in reality, neither of those are viable options.  Will they likely take her to court?  Or are they just trying to scare her in the hopes that she'll give them all the money they want?

Would really appreciate any input from anyone who knows anything about how this works.  I feel bad I can't offer her any advice but I was fortunate, my student loan debt (Sallie Mae) was minimal and I was able to pay it off fairly quickly, so I have no experience whatsoever with private lenders or collection agencies.

can anybody with HKSTVIQ explain why the last few games have had the option to watch or listen to the game, but when you click to watch there is no video?  If its on kansas now 22 or whatever does that mean they can't stream it on the website?  If audio is the only option I wish they wouldn't get my hopes up by presenting the streaming video option.

Also, dunno what changed, but last season it seemed like I was able to get just about every purpleboozeqhatz game on DirecTV and i'm not sure if there has even been 1 yet this season.

I'd consider myself a better person because of gE.  I almost never use cuss words anymore because I find myself interacting with the world as if it were a family blog.  Most notably "what in the world?", "good grief", "bad person" and "sheesh".

also, I get overly frustrated when texting and trying to find the perfect emoji, because i know that right over on gE there's that perfect one that just "gets it", ya know?  A smiling turd can only get you so far...

I'm glad I've been insulated from WSU fans enough to separate the team on the floor, and the game I watched from any fanstuffs. We all knew that Kentucky at it's best had a lot of JYC in them. During the game I felt both teams played with that toughness and tenacity. Really reminded me of why we all loved watching Frank's teams play so much.

JYCing while also hitting shots is pretty fun to watch. They shot 62% (59% 2s, 44% 3s) and still rebounded 35% of their misses and had a 44% FT rate (both better than WSU). WSU was slightly better shooting and on TO%, but out-JYCing the Shocks won the game.

I can't help but feel like wsu played to its ceiling today but I guess I have no way of knowing bc it was the first time this season they've had to. Even still I really doubt wsu could have played any better than they did.

So, all comparisons to other things aside.  Would there be a fair and economic way to give compensation for SA meeting specific goals in their season?  Similar to bonuses that coaches get for making a bowl game etc. ?  The idea being that this is your job and we are giving you education, meals, and housing as payment.  If you want a bonus, show us what you can do on the field.  There would have to be regulation by the NCAA about how much could actually be given to any one player, but it could be up to the individual schools to determine the criteria the athletes needed to achieve to get their "bonus".

I don't think you were making a valid comparison in the first place. Servers in a restaurant are cogs in a machine that are completely replaceable. Show me a chilis that went belly up bc a bartender decided to quit and finish up that degree in physics. SAs should be viewed as skilled labor. Talent (or lack thereof) at their positions will absolutely have a meaningful impact on the success of the program.

It might be. We weren't terrible at oboarding, but were pretty bad at dboarding. We killed Baylor on the boards in Manhattan, but then got killed by a bad oboarding ISU in KC.

could that be attributed to ISUs propensity for having 3-4 guys on the floor at any time that are a threat to shoot the 3?  Seems like if gip is having to guard niang all the way out on the perimeter it really increases the likelihood that missed 3s will be a toss up.
