where would you live mich?

brooklyn, duh :Rusty:

but probably like Park Slope/Cobble Hill/Carroll Gardens or south. I'm visiting next week to see what I can get!

Park Slope would probably be the easiest transition from Bay Area, based on my narrow understanding of what life in the bay area is like.

We even got an honest to God "the setting" post in there too:

Quote
One thing we should know by now is football stadium location is meaningless. We probably have a top 10 location and we’ve sucked forever. KSU and ISU have horrendous locations and they’ve kicked the crap out of us recently. If you’re good your location will suddenly become good. I’d hate to see memorial torn down but it makes a lot of sense to build new in some field.

I mean...it probably just sneaks in as a top 10 location if you're just talking about the Big 12 I guess, but that's about it.

Serious question... who's worse? Because I've been thinking about all the conference stadiums I've been to, and there isn't one jumping out at me as a bad location. I could also be missing "the setting" qualifier because their stadium is such a complete dump.

I’m going to sound like small town Midwest dad complaining that there’s no parking lot around the T-Mobile Center on this one, but it’s OU. It’s a huge pain in the ass to get to & on game day it’s a rough ridin' nightmare to get in/out of. Lindsey St is the closest exit off I-35 to the stadium and it reduces to a 2-lane road between I-35 & the stadium. It would be like if Seth Child was the interstate everyone came into town on, but Kimball reduced to 2-lanes a 1/4 mile east of Seth Child and your only parking option was to drive through all the residential side roads in between to find street parking.

that would also be bad if there was like a fire or an explosion of some kind

to improve morale one of the players (they won't say who) showed up calling himself Donnie Stevenson. (Dom Smith might be the obvious choice b/c same initials, but my theory is that it was Pete Alonso b/c Pete is a silly goose). Anyway, not much is known about Donnie other than his favorite song is Takin Care of Business and his hitting philosophy is "rippin' heaters".

Ever since Donnie showed up they have started to actually score some runs so that's cool. Lindor is the only one who is still white hot dog crap at the plate, Pete has shown the most dramatic improvement but really everyone not named Francisco Lindor is hitting a lot better.

Probs part of the reason Chili got fired...when one of the players decides to take over being the hitting coach and immediately they get dramatic results...doesn't surprise me that Chili was in the hot seat.

Who could have predicted  1-0 loss with deGrom on there mound?

Chili Davis is rough ridin' up.

Chili fired!

Donnie Stevenson is laser focused on 1 thing and that 1 thing is rippin' heaters. its time to claw out of 29th place and start takin care of business.

Anyone else watched Them on Amazon prime? Has a very lovecraft country feel to it (good old timey 1950s racism paired with a bunch of paranormal activity) but doesn’t have that HBO budget. I’m 3 epis in... will continue to watch, interested to see where they are going with it

just finished watching Them. It was...interesting. My first thoughts was that it was going to be similar to lovecraft country but then it started to feel more like a stephen king novel. It definitely had its terrifying moments. Some of the story lines it built up had abrupt/unsatisfying resolutions. One of the most unsatisfying side plots was Betty. For those of you who have watched it - let me cut you off real quick before you point out that i am complaining about the story line of a white woman in a story about a black family that gets terrorized when they move into an all white neighborhood - but the thing is Betty was like the leading antagonist and they slowly start to add all this depth to her story and its like oh okay well there are a number of ways they could go with this, and then the way Betty's story line is resolved is just like...what?  All in all, would recommend, i suppose.

I can usually make it more than 1 month into the season before needing a break, but this team is really testing me right now. 1 for mfing 14 with runners in scoring position. It is a FACT that if you would have trotted out a little league team instead of the Mets the last 3 games...the little league team would have only scored 2 fewer runs than the Mets in those 3 games. The Phillies pitcher scored more runs swinging and missing at strike 3 for the 3rd out of the inning, than the entire Mets team did in 9 innings. I just

I got a fountain pen because of some kind of hipster hormone surge, but it is really a pain in the ass

I got a box of pilot varsity fountain pens. I don’t like them for everyday writing but I do like to use them to put my signature on something like if I’m signing and sealing a set of drawings. And since they’re disposable I don’t feel like so much of a pompous d-bag

i think chum1 is right here...like you have that friend that goes through a tough break up and is an absolute disaster and the first thing they want to do is try to find the next one? and everyone is like the hot mess express is leaving the station WOO WOO

unfortunately its hard to have that conversation you just kind of have to let them figure it out for themselves and just hope they don't ruin too many lives in the process

10
If they were just like... the 2nd worst offensive team in baseball instead of the worst, I think we’re at least 4 games above .500 at this point. Just pathetic

11
Gonna get that ass beat starting Tuesday.

MIR I’m actually a little bit jealous of you bc I’m guessing you probably haven’t watched a lot of Mets baseball and so on Wednesday you’ll get to see Jake do his stuff and it’s just an absolute treat. Like even if your team is on the ass end of the ass kicking its still just like WOW

12
If you have a guy on 3rd and nobody out and you can’t get that guy home... you deserve to lose. And if both teams do it then the team that does it in extra innings deserves to lose more

13
ok but what is happening on the sides of that beauty? normally the tip of the nose of the powercat is the end of it but from what i can tell the end of the nose is just the beginning of the story...

14
how bad did you end up crushing everyone's taints/balls? seems like it was atleast 6 or 7

Well dang that’s a bummer.  :Ugh:

19
What is the wrong way?  Serious question.

Well Pete I don’t know what the wrong way is... but if you tried to put together a compilation of all the pressers where Bill Self discussed doing things the right way, it would be a v short compilation, is what I’m trying to say

21
impossible to say, b/c he digs a hole and buries the bodies just as fast. but he also buries a bunch of other stuff too. Who is going to check every one? sometimes its a dead body, other times...tv remote. good luck w/ all that.

That top of the 7th might end up being the most 1/Mets things that will happen this season

It would be a brilliant marketing tactic by the local Jeep dealer if not for the fact that the maga dipcrap that now wants to buy a jeep to own the libs has neither the money for a new Jeep nor the necessary amount of PTO to take it on a proper excursion.

It’s that what basketball courts used to look like? I’m starting to think that maybe what happened was one day the good Doctor Naismith was doodling some fresh dongs and someone saw and was like “are...are those dicks?” And he was like “what?! No, it’s...uh, it’s a new game I invented, its called...basketball. Now build a museum and put this drawing in it. Wait, no, not this exact drawing. Make a copy of it, and put the copy in the museum. To reiterate: I definitely wasn’t drawing cranks.”
