Kansas State Football / Can you picture it?
« on: November 15, 2012, 12:38:01 AM »
I was brushing my teeth tonight, meditating on the thought of being world champions, and I tried to picture the post-game celebration. I tried to picture Snyder hoisting the crystal, doing the awkward John Saunders interview, still wet from the Gatoradeā„¢ bath, all smiles. And the candid locker room speech to the team afterward, raw emotion from a grueling season, a long career, finally pouring out, being noticably present in his voice. A roar of a reaction from the team that says "We did it all for you, coach. You were born to win it all, and now you've done it."

I couldn't picture it. It's just not clear in my mind what any of it would look or feel or sound like. It's been so present the last month, so tangible, but now that it's within reach it seems so distant.

Sorry to go all steve dave on the board, maybe this doesn't deserve its own topic (=MODS?!=). Can anyone else see this all happening, or was it not meant to be? Am I losing my mind? TIA

...with Stan was a bright spot on the night. Frank gets pissed and walks off, camera slowly pans left to Willie and his fixed smug grin.

So I have the luxury of living within close proximity of former and current KSU human dunk shot highlight machines Wallace Judge and Jordan Enrique Roberts. I lived with two (2) others, but one (1) has recently taken residence in another town, and that roommate's bedroom had a perfect view of former and current KSU human dunk shot highlight machines Wallace Judge and Jordan Enrique Roberts's apartment, so at my disposal currently is one (1) window within eyeshot of the aforementioned human dunk shot highlight machines, and as a graphic design major I also have plenty of spare white foam core, illustration, and mat boards begging to be written on and hung for wandering eyes to see.

Below is a scale replica of said window. Any and all potential sign ideas will be taken into consideration.

...walking into his apartment in the early a.m. with two young co-eds. Yelled out "Wally!" from across the street. He responded "It's not Wally, it's Jordan" and he stood on the tips of his toes and started walking like he had a stick in his ass, much to the amusement of the two young co-eds.

Essentially Flyertalk / Building a PC
« on: December 24, 2010, 02:17:52 AM »
Taking my next big step in the world of video, graphics, and 3d editing.  Building a PC from scratch and am looking for opinions on the crown jewel of custom computers: the motherboard. I built my own several years ago as an amateur and wasn't aware at the time that I was severely limiting my future upgrade capabilities with the board I chose.  This time around there are a few key features I am looking for: room for lots of RAM, USB 3.0 compatibility, and CPU upgrade potential.  Am leaning toward the following board:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813131631

It's built for AMD processors, and I know Intel's i7 line is where it's at right now (I own a Vaio laptop with an i7-720QM and have had no complaints with speed), but I've been told by many others in the graphic design field that AMD's Phenom II line is just as solid and easier on the wallet.  If I go with that board I'm also leaning toward the following processor:

Thoughts and advice from others who've gone this road in the past?

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / Frank on BTL
« on: December 09, 2010, 04:28:14 PM »
Frank on BTLw/KK.  Completely unsarcastic. Highlights:

-Jake deserves to play a game near hometown. Loyola was one of the only schools that was willinh to do a home and home for his senior year.
-Not happy with any wings but HotRod. Russel on his period, but would ultimately be his guy to alternate with Jake at other wing.
-Sprads humbled by Duke's greatness. Good listener and ultra-competitive. Will be fine.
-Wally also on period, needs to realize how awesome he is.
-Big 12 venues are "ridiculous". Interpret that as you'd like.
-"Duke knocked us around like a step-child." :surprised:
