I was putting siracha on whole grain pita chips.  It was a disaster all around.  Pure impulse, no forethought.

it seemed like a good idea, now not so much.

The goEMAW debate style is just to drop arguments as soon as there is any resistance, laugh at the opponent and then let everyone else figure out what happened.  I have to say, it is getting a little old.  It won't be long before I'll just be hocking loogies from the balcony with chum and clams.

I am the Jane goodall of goEMAW.

My favorite part of fake sugar dick's posts are when he wanders in to a conversation, lets everyone know he doesn't know what he's talking about and then doubles down with name calling when someone alerts him that the adults are talking.  No apologies, no listening, just restating the same thing with various levels of name calling.

I'd say Frank threw his players under the bus a lot. He won though so nobody really cared except for some tucks. The new coaches can back that bus up as many times as they want as long as they win more often than not.

The difference is Frank didn't get fired for performance. I will excuse any and all questionable behavior if the end result is wins. Conversely, I will nitpick like the Dickens if we lose. I think it's my right.

I will write up Kafka-esque haikus about Weber if we suck.

seriously though, when was the last time that a fairly successful major bball school fired a head coach for performance related issues only and a different fairly successful major bball school immediately hired that recently fired coach? i'm not asking if it's every worked out well before. i'm asking if it's ever happend. ever.

I think the closest was Stan Heath. And South Florida was complete dogshit.

well if that's the closest, then it's not even close to a comparable situation. is there anything more compareable than this?

kansas state had been to the tournament four out of the last five years, had been to an elite eight within the last three, was averaging 12k a game.

south florida had been to the tournamet twice in school history with the most recent trip being 15 years before heath was hired.

we just saw something that has never, ever, ever been done before in the history of major d1 college basketball. kstateo.

The most mindboggling way to look at it.

Team A Has been to the NCAA 4 of 5 years.  Has consistently been a top 25 program.  Earned a 2 seed just two years ago. This team just exceeded expectations in a rebuilding year that saw them win three games over top ten opponents.

Team B Has seen their program fall in a fairly even trajectory from lofty heights, culminating in a horrid season this year that saw them fire their coach after his team (talented team) collapsed after a great start, losing 12 of 14 games to end the season.

Team C Is a historically bad program with few NCAA appearances, and rare success.  They just fired their coach after a losing season where the team won just two conference games in a relatively weak major conference.

Team A then pushed out their coach, who left to take a job at Team C and replaced him 5 days later with the coach who just got fired from Team B.

It is almost unfathomable.

This is exactly the problem.  It is infuriating.

captain, i'm trying to read between the lines.  one simple question - is k-state in danger of sanctions because of the actions of Frank Martin and/or his staff?

Don't know yet.

WTF man, really?  Were there violations?  Has there been a report by the university?  Is there an investigation on going by the university?  NCAA?

You do realize this comes off as fear mongering cc?

Truly sorry. I would give you more if I could, but I think if I went into any detail on it I'd get some blowback.

About all I can say is that there are ongoing conversations, with outcomes undetermined right now.

My guess:  Curtis Malone did not suddenly get the urge to send a one-time only payment to Jamar Samuels.

I'd wish for apple cobbler, but that's just me.

that's the dumbest rough ridin' thing i've ever heard ever

Oh JFC.  If you can wish for cherry pie, I can sure as crap wish for delicious, warm apple cobbler with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.  I mean, cherry pie? What are you- a rough ridin' 8 year old?  This is why we can never have civil discussions on this board.  Cherry pie.  JFC.

Apple crisp is better than apple cobbler.

The pilots always get a hotel room, but he said Weber told them they were more than welcome to stay at his house, that he had extra room.

What a weird goofball.

Swinger?

Probably not although I like to picture oscar telling the pilot he has "room" at his house and the pilot shows up and they have to share a bed like Planes, Trains, and Automobiles.

I think you are thinking of an old episode of steve dave stories starring sdbro, an empty queen size bed in an adjoining suite and one king filled with sd and kk.

My bro and his wife are KU grads and big fans of those jayhawks. We had a funeral for grandma last month so we were all feeling "life is short" stuff, so Mrs. Rex and I went to St Louis with them and got us all tickets/rooms for the weekend. There was lots of drinking involved each night, and at some point liquor and beer were mixed. Mrs Rexbro didn't take that well. At first, it was cute, super outgoing stuff, including crashing a private room at the Hilton rooftop bar rented by a bunch of Arab dudes from Canada. The first dude trotted out the "toto" line, and Mrs. Rexbro immediately swatted that weak tot action with a scathing Niagara falls stereotype response. She then announced she was leaving, took a bow, and puked on his shoes.

Similar events transpired on Sunday, and thus a tradition of preparing for a KU game by putting a Canadian in their place and puking was born, because KU won both times that weekend. Like a champ, she carried it out from SEK on Saturday, although she had to substitute a Dakotan (Arab Canadians being harder to come across in that area). However, she got lazy and counted her daughter puking, and it all fell apart.

In short, when I was upset about this last week's developments and was ignoring everyone's calls, she sent me a text that said "Sorry to hear about Currie hiring Weber and Martin leaving and Spradling staying. They are all douches. TSC."

I know I should've married fatty's sister.  God.  Damn.  It.

I guess it is possible that CSA was actually hired 26th.  I also find it plausible the contract was post-dated considering Frank's family has said to anyone that will listen that he was never tendered an offer despite what Currie says.  I mean I get that makes Frank looks good, but the alternative is believing John "what was that dollar figure I quoted again Brad?" Currie.  Tough call.  But I'm sure Kellis has every angle covered.  If there is anything that man is, it is thorough.

We paid Todd Turner $8,000 a day plus expenses for oscar Weber.

kind of doubt that.

You'd be wrong, then. Behold: http://www.kansas.com/2012/04/03/2282939/weber-must-start-from-scratch.html

Highlight: K-State paid $40,000 to consulting firm — For his help during the hiring process of oscar Weber, Kansas State agreed to pay Todd Turner and his consulting firm Collegiate Sports Associates $40,000 plus pre-approved expenses.

Oh you have the duration of the contract?  Great work scoops!  You scooped us all!
