How can Kaluma be the best in the league if he can't shoot or dribble?

3x All Big 12 selection Kevin McCullar. His shot has gotten a lot better and he probably still won't break 30% outside of 12 feet this year.

Kaluma is a rebounder, gets shots around the basket type, and defends all positions. I thought he could get to the rim much better, but from what I've seen, has struggled. Hoping it's just not being all-in or whatever and he cleans it up, but why would a defender fall for a pump fake when you want him to take any jump shot?

I do think Kaluma can be one of the best in the league in college, I just don't see how it translates to the NBA or see (yet) what would make him go anywhere earlier than maybe mid-late 2nd flyer.

He's obviously physically built for it, and can guard about any position in college and grab a lot of rebounds, but his shot appears to be terrible and his ball handling struggles at times (very low sample size). Really not sure where he'd see the floor in the NBA as a combo forwardish type with his game.

I guess what I'm saying, I always assumed we only get one year of Kaluma, but why not 2?

Did we bully KU into spending assloads of money they don't have to keep LL and JD6 around?

That's not very big brothery of us.

Guys, almost zero KU fans have ever set foot in an opposing school’s stadium. They will have no idea what they are missing.  Whatever they build, their fans will simply assume it must be the best in the league, if not the entire country.

Being the architect or general contractor for anything at KU is the easiest job in the world.

This.  KU does a better job of persuading their students/alumni that everything they have or do is the best in the country.  My KU friends tell me that K-State has a crappy campus, and KU's is the most scenic in the US.  Just to give you some framework for the level of delusion at KU.

Very true. I mean, until 48 hours ago, they thought they were the only place in America that read newspapers while the other teams basketball lineup was announced.

Was talking to a buddy about the cost increase for the renovations, and got into the design. It will be a neat little stadium with minimal fan amenities (wish they'd drop the exoskeleton too), and will probably give them the 11th-13th best stadium in the new Big 12, if the plan is fully completed. It's crazy how far behind they currently are for this to get them there.

They could build a pretty incredible new stadium that moves them into the top half of the league with that $400 mill if done at a new site. But I understand wanting to keep that setting

I wish Perry had 2 years left, but our guard rotations the next few years are going to be awesome. And I don't know where Buddy's minutes come from as we get a set rotation later in the season, but I would like to see him on the floor (as long as he's productive, of course) developing as much as possible this season, maybe instead of Manning?

David is clearly my guy, with RJ as clearly his backup when David leaves but "I'm putting cases on all you bitches" for these terrible Kaluma takes. He's going to start and he's going to be one of the best players on this team and in the league.

I'm all over the board on how this works, but wouldn't David have a super senior season to come back next year if he wanted to as well?

My preference is

Dai Dai - 6'1
Perry - 5'11
Carter - 6'3
RJ - 6'3
Tomlin

It's a good thing we'd never miss a shot so we'd never need an offensive rebound, but the other team will get to shoot it until they make it.

We're going to have so many backdoor cut dunkshots this year.

They're also going to have to replace the rims/backboards multiple times as long as Buddy Rich is with the program.

If/when Kaluma buys in, and Tomlin returns, it will be really interesting to see our rotations.

Will McNair has been a very pleasant surprise.

Honestly KSU is the best chance the Hateful8 have for a non OUT big12 champion in their last year so I expect everything to fall into place and get us in the big12 championship game.

The only issue is I could see the suckclones doing sucklones things and beating Texas this weekend and making some convoluted 4 way tie where we get left out.

That's not an issue, that's exactly what we want.

Genuinely concerned about Bean's health and how the KU fans want to rush him back.

If we would've had both OU and OSU on the schedule, I think our team would've been more focused to try to get the fanbase Oklahoma state champ shirts and got a 2-0 sweep.

The fact we didn't have OU on the sched was part of why our team had a lackluster performance in Stillwater.

Glad the rule is thrown out due to that.

Bro jim, I love you. You are one of the best posters and ku fans there are. That said, I’m totally demoralized. We had the opportunity to be in the conversations. We win today and against osu? We are top 5. Now? Out season is done. We are going to some toilet bowel. This could have been 07. But our qbs are not reesing . He’d play on one leg. Our qbs are effing ceramic dolls. We’ve got to recruit some tougher kids that care about our program. This is so gross. What a catastrophic waste. I’m so sad for our program.

Will Will set the all time KSU passing touchdown record this Saturday at Baylor or will Will wait until the KU game?

Absolutely zero chance he even ties the record in Waco this week.

I thought we were all members in good standing of the Konza Triangle? Some of you make me sick  :Yuck:

I'm 100% all in on the current edition of Blue Wings Rising, but it's actually the KU fans that have blown it with LL by not supporting the program like I have.

He wouldn't be seriously considering other jobs if the Hawks fans showed up. It kind of sucks and feels like I'm being let down by a family member.

Not mad, just disappointed. I guess.

Help me understand the bolded part. Hawks fans have shown up more this year than they have since I and "Iron" Todd Reesing roamed campus. (Has anyone seen us in the same room?) If you're referring to the student exodus at the OU game, that's not really a fair barometer, and the actual barometer, chronometer, and thermometer understandably had a lot to do with that.

Sometimes the heart can see what the eye cannot.

Lance and I have seen and felt it.
