We are such amateurs.  We should have a fleet of new cars given to our athletic dept as bennies.  Didn't think of this, but financial misconduct is a honed art at ku, so am not really surprised.

Kansas State Football / Scandals have really cost ku in fundraising

"A hot discussion topic among some KU boosters has been how the ticket-skimming scandal and the premature departure of former athletic director Lew Perkins combined to affect giving to the Williams Educational Fund, the prime vehicle for donations to the athletic department.

Marchiony contends that it hasn’t. He reported this week that giving in fiscal year 2010, which ended June 30, 2010, totaled about $14 million and that fundraising is on pace to match that this year.

Other financial records, available on the department’s website, present a different picture.

Audited financial statements show that current pledges to the nonprofit corporation that supports the athletic department fell from $12.4 million in fiscal year 2009 to $6.3 million in fiscal 2010. That fiscal year closed about four months after the suspension of Rodney Jones, the now-imprisoned former Williams Fund director, and public concern began to grow."

Nice try by ku PR guy to paint a picture of normality.

BONUS:  Nice pic of Lew

Did not realize how completely ku has become our bitch, even though the 59-7 "beatdown" was an indicator.

Will we ever make progress against Mizzou?

I found this hilarious:

They were a little harsh on Baylor given recent success there, and not giving enough credit for positive movment by Baylor and the Havs.

Cite Taylor and the Moron twins as reasons to hate.

When you haul $5.5 million in one year from the rubes at ku, this is chump change.

How did UCF finish ahead of us?

ku and Buffalo > 90

Seriously?  A top 25 BCS team playing a 5-1 team from the Big 12 South?

Got tix to the game, and a buddy and I are planning on showing up early.  Where's the best tailgating going to be?

Won't get to root for Sproles to return a kickoff or punt for a touchdown, being a loyal Chiefs fan and all.  Doesn't sound like he'll get a lot of carries at RB, but you never know.  He could certainly hurt the Chiefs that way too.

A link to the video of player interviews and impersonations of Frank Martin that aired during the NCAA tournament?

Collin's conviction for a sex offense would have offered a bonanza of info on him had he been convicted.  Look at the sex offenders registry, and it has info on address, vehicles, aliases, tattoos (Collins would have taken up the entire field set aside for those descriptors).  You know Self would have kept him on the team even with the convictions.

http://www.accesskansas.org/kbi/offender_registry/

Bottom line:  We, and justice, were ROBBED.  Getting a ku bball player convicted in Douglas County is next to hopeless, unless a law enforcement agency not based there is involved (ala DUI arrest of Brady Drunkenstar by the Kansas Highway Patrol).

CK  21
Jamar  14
Dom  4

Jamar and Dom were hamstrung with fouls, so would have done more damage--the game would not have even been that close.  Encouraging to see some pressure being taken off Clemente and Pullen.

Did CK get hit in the nuts, or was it really his hand?

Releford, Little and the rest of KU’s red team think that they may be talented enough to make the NCAA Tournament by themselves. Point guards C.J. Henry and Elijah Johnson, walk-on wing Conner Teahan and big men Thomas Robinson and Jeff Withey make up the rest of the group, whose goal is to bring down the No. 1 team in the country each day in practice.

49
That Frank pulls a Scott Drew and has his team ignore the ku intro video/self-glorification (pun intended)
