Alright guys, I'm lazy and don't want to search through the entire thread, but I finally got my first MTB, and need any/all tips, sites, etc for necessities/upgrades/yadda yadda yadda...

Anyone here ride trails/cc type stuff?

Nothing crazy yet, 2022 Trek Marlin 7.

So, I've been out of the BBS'in for a hot minute, and also going through some physical issues that haven't gotten fixed quite as quickly as I'd hoped.

With those issues comes a LOT of time off work, and little physical ability to do much other than relax. As of last night I finally finished The Hobbit trilogy!

Thoughts on them? 1st one had me excited, 2nd felt like a tease, and the 3rd was just kind of "meh" with the way they ended it. I admit to having not read any but the original Hobbit book decades ago, BTW.

Guys!!!!!

Missed you. Also, spicy Thai duck burgers with peanut sauce and jalapeño Sriracha slaw.

Had a couple pounds of duck in the freezer that needed to go.

that looks tender and delicious.  do you have a meat slicer?
We do! Sliced it up into about 1/8" strips, the gf whipped up a creamy horseradish sauce, tossed on some microgreens and called it a day.

how did you decide to purchase a meat slicer?
We love being in the kitchen together, trying new recipes, all that. Gf initially decided on it so we could slice homemade sourdough bread. Plus it does this to meat...

Had an 03 Forester for the last 5 years or so. 200k+ and then it threw a rod. Now I have a car payment for the first time in my 37 years...
I bet being a lesbian is awesome
The buzzcut gives me an extra 7hp.

Smoked London broil today. Marinade could be better, but man, that smoke.

Sliced up nice and thin for some sandwiches this week.

Remember when we all went bonkers for Stromboli for a bit? That was great.

Damn, I missed a lot in here quickly. Thanks for posting the rub recipe (yes, that's what I used on the belly). I have to make more now and lost the damn notepad I wrote it down on!

AST to the rescue!!

Wanna share, Tom?? You can have a pork chop.

40
Did you trim a layer of fat before you smoked it?
Nope! Got it from a local butcher who does everything you need prep-wise. Saves me a lot of time, I'm happy to pay extra for that lol.

41
No messin' around. Rested it, sliced, into the broiler for 15. *chefs kiss*

AST dry rub coming through yet again. Thanks so much, bud!

I think she's ready.

I bought a frozen Detroit style pizza after reading Clams and Lib shared one.

i don't want anyone in the cooking thread to know about this, but the costco detroit pizzas are rough ridin' addictive and have completely cured any desire i might have to produce a scratch baked detroiter.
:horrorsurprise:

Guess I'm lucky??? that the nearest Costco is probably 120 miles from me.

(purely conjecture, I have never seen a Costco in person)

Oven only goes to 500, and the cheese/sauce combination left it too moist to get that lovely crust. We will know for next time.
ya man.  fresh mozzarella has way too much moisture,
also hunt down natural cased pepperonis, they are the ones that curl up and get crispy
nice pan, i’m jealous
Thanks for the tips! We will definitely improve on this effort!

The connect-fourness of that arrangement has reduced my anxiety to zero. Thank you, brother.
That's all the gf, but I've passed along the thanks haha.
