bollier has a chance.

https://twitter.com/JamesArkin/status/1311822432500699138

In JoCo I get about 1 mailer a day either for bollier/marshall or against them, getting annoying at this point.

Lucky, I get about two marshall mailers a day
I'm living in a one Marshall mailer per day region. The Marshall campaign came by to offer me a yard sign for the general election since I made a #NeverKobach donation to the Marshall campaign during the primary. I asked them to keep the sign. Surprising number of Bollier signs cropping up in my neighborhood.

Literally got myself a Bollier sign. Camping last weekend there were a ton of Bollier signs on K-10, and in Ottawa it was surprising like 5 Bollier to like 1 Marshall and we dragged as lot of streets. My neighborhood is like 20 to 1 on Bollier. I see more of her signs than Biden, Davids, or any other dem. No wonder they are pouring money in to the KS race. I get it ain't western KS, but she is absolutely dominating where I am at (if you go by signs)

Also, I was running last night and found the literal lone trump sign in my neighborhood, and it made me literally lol. They have and Adkins and Marshall sign, and then not 1 but 2 signs around the trump sign screaming "PRIVATE PROPERTY!". The location of the signs that really made me lol, was on the city side of the sidewalk. It was too deliciously trumpian to declare private property, and then promptly put in on the public side of the sidewalk. It was perfect.

Plus for us, we only really have done camping, and doing trivia is our best way to a) support the westport flea market financially, and b) support the quiz master (who is our friend as well)

Hey, that was our trivia name last night, we want the rights to that (also named prior to knowing about trump)

Nicely done except pub trivia???

Flea market does a good job, masks required, every other table, the guy who runs the trivia wouldn't do trivia if he didn't think it was done well (he's pretty lib/takes this seriously)

It's actually the ideal trivia set up, no one nearby, masks make it easy to not read lips, etc.

This is only the second week it's been back after a small attempt like 3 months ago for like 3 weeks. Probably the 5th trivia we've done since March, it is our vice in this

After the Hope Hicks last night, my friends and I discussed the what ifs if he got it, we all went to bed before he announced it, the one thing we were adamant about is that if he did get it, he would never say he got it.

Welp, color me legitly surprised.

But what if he DOESN'T have it?

I think she might do well as an incumbent. Agree that she would probably lose as the candidate this year.

I would agree on both of those.

If, obv if, Biden wins, I fully expect it to be a single term presidency and then hand it over to her. I think she does pretty well in that one, assuming that is what happens.

She's not going to sway how the general populace feel about black women, just like Hillary didn't. People aren't going to stop hating women just because Joe Biden either gets sick or dies in office.

For the most part yes, but it's easier to defend when you're already there, than try and reach where you haven't been IMO. I guess what I mean to say, she'll do better in the hypothetical 2024 race being VP than she would just trying to do it w/o any of that legitimacy. She'll get plenty of vitriol, I don't doubt it, but people will also get much more comfortable with the idea of it if she's basically an heir apparent. Obviously president is the ultimate glass ceiling, but the penultimate one hasn't been broken yet being VP.

I also think Hillary being a woman wasn't as big of reason as to why she lost but that's more my opinion.

Hillary and Biden are politically nearly identical. Do you think Hillary would beat trump today? I'm saying this as someone who didn't even vote for her.

Honestly, I think it would be even closer, she pissed away her chances in Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. She only lost those by like 80k votes combined, and she owned the popular vote. That is literally the difference in that election. They also acted very arrogant towards the end, and I'm sure enough people stayed home to probably keep that election from going that way, but those the breaks.

Hillary comes with the Benghazi baggage (real or imaginary) w/ "her emails!" and being saddled with the whole Bill "pedo" thing. As well as being the insider on an election craving an outsider. Her short comings come way more from things outside her possession of a vagina. All it does IMO is aggravate it, it's a handicap, not the handicap.

This election is much more "do you want more of this circus or do you want some semblance of normalcy" for some and "I just love pissing off the libs" on the other. There is nothing really that matters about the positions of the two candidates IMO at this point, so who cares about how left or right that is.

It's hard to play the what if on this anyways, she'd lose in a rematch because what is done is done, but the history of that election shows if she played it differently she'd won. I guess what I mean to say if you flipped the two candidates, and had Biden in 2016 v Trump, and Hillary v Trump 2020, I think trump could have still won in 2016 simply because the country was willing to roll the dice on an outsider and Hillary would have a better chance at winning in this one because holy hell this didn't go well. Circumstances and her poor closing game in the last month, plus probably even Comey, did her in, more than her sex did her in.

It's amazing how many  "They both were so bad" people out there.  "I'm scared because if it's Biden we won't know who's really running things"
Yeah, Biden having a good team of people around him is his best thing. Who would really be making fiscal policy decisions? Hopefully some person super rough ridin' smart about fiscal policy! Not some old dude who watches Fox News all day and rages on twitter.

The people they both surround themselves with makes this vote even more of a no brainier.

Yup, all of this

Lots of commentary on 538 expect it to change it in favor of Biden slightly.

https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/trump-biden-debate-poll/

But it's all pretty minor stuff

The consensus seems to be coalescing around the idea that Biden slightly helped himself with his performance, and trump didn't do anything to appeal to anyone else but his base. It seems his strategy is to keep doubling down, which granted got him the office in 2016, but, like, running as the outsider in 2020 rings hollow. Basically, a minor win for Biden.

mrs. dave and I are dropping off our mail in votes today

You and nate need to stop trying to make fetch happen

That's a lot of polls to say otherwise

https://projects.fivethirtyeight.com/2020-election-forecast/nebraska-2/

Pretty sure it's basically impossible both for NE-02 to be a close race and also have a close electoral count. The district too far left relative to other states for that to happen.

I wasn't carrying about what electoral vote it was, just that he was winning NE-2

It's a mixture of fewer undecideds, low enthusiasm for Biden,  and trump fatigue.

Yup, IMO since basically June after the whole church photo op I think this country has just galvanized on who they want. The amount of undecideds is basically not worth fighting over because they hardly exist. Regardless of who is voting for who this country just wants to pull the goddamn lever and be done with that part of it.

8 stalls on an interstate is like standard, it's more to make sure someone has a spot, than it is thinking the town is filled with Teslas is actually going to use them (I never use superchargers in KC except like once just cause).

Also, would gently point out when I mean Tesla charger, I mean like the little guy in your garage, not the supercharger, which are the big white and red ones. The little ones for your garage are more akin to the public pole ones you see in most places. The higher power DC ones like the supercharger are different that those chargers.

Right, I meant the tlb charger in the home garage and then the tesla-branded superchargers out and about.

I saw no cars using any of the stalls at either supercharger setup.

https://www.tesla.com/findus/location/supercharger/seasideorupercharger

And holy eff, maybe there were multiple totaling 20 or I didn't notice how massive the setup was, but I guess there were 20 stalls here!

https://www.tesla.com/findus/location/supercharger/centraliasupercharger

That is not uncommon in westcoast areas. Watch for stories around thanksgiving about their not being enough charging places. They build them for the extremes.

I guess it's like stalls at gas stations, not all of those are occupied at all times and you build them more the future demand and the high demand times not for what is needed like 90% of the time.

FWIW, anytime I look at my tesla app for nearby it almost always looks like what I just pulled up right now:

Mission KS: 7/8 available
Olathe KS, 8/8 available
Independence MO: 5/6 available
KCMO: 7/8 available

I get what you're saying and I guess there is some truth to that to unfortunately.  The number of people who actually were saying Biden was rude by calling Drumpf names on my social feeds was mind blowing.  I just don't see how that will work with the undecided.
Can guarantee my MAGA in-laws were shocked and horrified by Biden's lack of respect.

That is pretty loller given the way trump operates. It's a weird double standard to uphold.

There’s regular EV stalls ever-y-where out here, but those two this weekend were the only Tesla-specific ones I saw. I’d always pictured that tesla’rs were expected to charge at home but that there’d be Tesla stations scattered frequently on highways across america for those on trips. Ran counterintuitive to me that they would want the people who buy these and put TESL8 vanity plates on them mingling with the riff raff at the Hanes Brands outlet store.

There are tons of normal chargers in KC now. IMO unless you are a Tesla nut, you shouldn't buy a Tesla charger unless it's for your house. You limit yourself on just getting Tesla cars if you are a business (which I understand it's the most popular electric car brand, but that will change soon IMO). if you put a J1772 in, everyone can use it, including the Tesla.

The only place I remember seeing them was in a hotel parking lot. In Sequim, WA! There were more than a couple.

I thought I remembered a lot of them there. There are eight!

https://www.tesla.com/findus/location/supercharger/sequimsupercharger

Yes, these both hit on what I found weird.  My bud who has one has the tesla charger in his garage, and then I assumed there were single tesla chargers scattered at places on or just off interstates for long trips like your KC-to-Denver, not at places that would somewhat be in town and where you'd be running errands maybe.

Both the shitty outlet malls ones I saw had 8 stations, as if the whole town population of tesla drivers would make a charge run there simultaneously.  I guess it could be that it costs barely more to put in 8 than it does 1-2 and maybe that ends up influencing people to buy teslas.

8 stalls on an interstate is like standard, it's more to make sure someone has a spot, than it is thinking the town is filled with Teslas is actually going to use them (I never use superchargers in KC except like once just cause).

Not that it matters, but if you ever want the most up to date superchargers, this site is basically a daily refresh

https://supercharge.info/changes

Tesla changes their site maybe bimonthly.

Tesla bros are, very very committed. I almost hate to say it but if you ever want to see the super goody side of BBSing, go to teslamotorsclub.com Their investment thread makes the one hear look tame. Also, I'm pretty sure dax/any right winger on this blog would probably convulse at their climate change threads too

I lurk their occasionally, they are top notch on like any problems that could arise with the car, but it threads like 50 threads of people with the same problem again and again makes you really question how people with so much money could be so stupid. It's an insane place, but fun to look at
