Kansas State Football / Re: Where were you the last time we were #1?
« on: November 11, 2012, 01:04:58 AM »
Was watching with parents. 2nd grade. Remember the Nebraska game well... I think my dad cried. We made a special trip to Manhattan the next day. To see the goal post. If memory serves correctly... it was on top of what is now Rusty's?

Our defense was fantastic.

And if we win out we're playing for a national title you dorks.

I will fully admit that tonight wasn't pretty, but I won't let your zackering up threads ruin things for me. Go ahead and do whatever you do, I'm going to enjoy my 10-0 Cats on the road to playing for the national title.

you realize how awful TCU is on offense, right?

and we're not going to win out w/out Zimmerman and Lockett and certainly not if Bill let's this offense's collective bad person pucker.

I was happy with the win, but discouraged by the 98 Dr. Peppering of the game.  We're 10-0 and we haven't even won a conference championship yet (or a piece of it anyway), so I'll save the champagne.

Yes. We just won a piece of the Big 12 championship at least.
False. Oklahoma would have had to lose.

Do you guys remember when it was under $2 back in 08 I think??? Can it get that low again??? Please?

You guys are just like Air Force. We'll donkey kick you in the nuts just like GMFP did with the help of Fitz. :runaway:

We'll have plenty of booze at the tailgates to drown your sorrows. Plus, since your colors are purple everyone will think you're a fan and you might get laid with women without hair on her back.

Are all the TWU fans as bad at the interwebs as the posters at www.killerfrogs.com ?

Quite frankly, I'm embarrassed for most of them... Tell me, is this what we should expect from all mid-major fans?

 :gocho:
If we are mid major you are Buck Private. Good news is this conference is so over rated you will still win the league after dropping our game and make a BCS bowl.

Always been a KSU /Snyder fan but we all know who got and kept the coach both schools wanted. Thanks Fitz!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Please don't despair. You have enough worries with your NC dream's wake on Sunday. The Carter is where dreams come to die. Made that up myself!

Cute. But LHC Bill Snyder doesn't sleep. :bill:

T's & P's for all those Texans who have to put up with the hairy-backed Texas women who donkey kick them in the balls.

Luckily we've been able to save a few of them who have found refuge in Manhattan.

My brother goes to Iowa State for grad school.  Says he enjoys going to a Big XII school, he kind of feels a sense of camaraderie with other Big XII schools.  I think it's worth keeping in mind.

Game tonight was kind of ugly.

First off, props to FHSU. They're pretty good, and their tall girl really caused some problems.

However, K-State should have done much better. Shot selection was horrible. I don't have a problem with Brittany Chambers taking 6 threes in a game.  She can shoot. But she needs to pick her shots better.  A lot of shots tonight were forced by our players.

That was my main concern.  My other concern is our lack of height. We are not a tall team. This could cause some problems down the road.
especially against Griner :ohno:

protip, we are not very good this year at all.  And Chambers taking 6 threes a game will be a minimum this season, she took 4 in the 10 minute scrimmage.  Spread, drive, kick out is the entirety of the offense this year.

It doesn't look very good for this year. And yeah, that was pretty much the offense tonight.  We didn't have enough size to go down low. We got lucky sometimes and picked up some cheap baskets down there when Fort Hays wasn't looking... but we don't have much of a post game.

When a huge company is going to buy another company they give that company a codename so they can talk about them and try to keep the news quiet.  At my company the guy leading the charge on an acquisition (must be a huge Star Wars fan) used the codename "AT-AT" for a company we're looking at.  I remember when he announced the code name in a board room full of people.  Everyone looked at eachother like, mmmkay?   :dunno:

FYI, AT-AT is that walking machine the bad people had that killed the Ewoks or whatever.

Hmm... while I do believe there were AT-AT's on the moon of Endor (I believe you see one in the cut scene immediately before Luke meets Vader again on the moon of Endor), I don't believe that there were actually any in the scenes with the Ewoks, only AT-ST's.

AT-AT's were perhaps more famous for the attack on Hoth in the Empire Strikes back.

Sorry for nerding out. :nerd:

:sdeek: But I really really wanted to hear him talk more about where your feet should be when you shoot a free throw...  :frown:

Another cry:

Who the heck saved it under their basket and passed it straight to a Washburn player for an easy jam??? I thought that was Basketball 101.

So they're paying Radakovich $750,000.

For the remainder of his contract, we are paying Currie an average of $512,500.

I know he also gets bonuses, but would he get ~$250,000? Or is it possible that he actually likes it here?

word is he got an extension which I'm sure included a raise

My bad, that is from the extended contract:

So long as they don't rape it like Lucas and Spielberg did to Indiana Jones...  :bawl:

You should write for South Park...

That's the joke, genius.

42
score? who was good? who was bad? atmosphere? tunnel dance?
81-61
Nino and DJamer looked pretty good to me. McGruder looked about how people expected him to be, I think, which was pretty good. It's tough to judge how much JO might have improved against a team like this, but he looked alright.
Will Spradling looked not good... he was shooting too much imo. Trying to force it instead of letting the game come to him... not a good night, especially from the 3.
Everything seemed a little rusty. First game of the year, kind of expected. I think everybody got in, which is good.
Didn't get there in time for the tunnel dance if it did happen  :frown:

Stat of the night: 54.5% from the line. Yikes.

Angel has a bad blister?? Somebody give him the John Wooden socks and shoes lesson!

Our offense is fine in this game.  D is what I'm most worried about  :ohno:

If our secondary plays as smart as they did in the last game, we should be fine, but Tech is tricky. I don't like Tech. I don't like us playing them. I don't like them even existing.

KSU, Oregon, and Alabama all undefeated: UO and Alabama go to championship. Leaving us butthurt because nobody likes SnyderBall.   :curse:  :curse:

KSU, Oregon undefeated, Florida beats Alabama: Florida and Alabama play in championship. Because ESPN is stupid.  :chainsaw:

KSU, Alabama undefeated: We've got a shot, kiddos...  :emawkid:

Tom Hayes?

Or am I just crazy.

Probably crazy.  :flush:

heard a passing conversation between 2 players today that went like this:

"yeah, coach hayes is rough ridin' cool, i like that guy"
"coach cox is an bad person, eff him"
"yeah, but coach hayes is like hey DB's...."

couldn't hear anymore after that :(

He's definitely old enough to be our coach.

Don't think Kleins dad would submit to those delusions if his son had walked on, then gray shirted, and expected his son to be 2nd string over the freshman phenom that was averaging a touchdown every five snaps.
I would imagine Klein's dad is a rather reserved and quiet person. Wouldn't think I could tell that he has two sons on the team even if I was sitting right next to the guy.
