Did you hear when Stan said basically "West Virginia played stupid on D, the Cats are the 1st team with a brain Baylor has faced."

This team is a lot of things, but it ain't smart.

The implication is being sound in our schemes, and I think that is potentially true. Hayes has been a solid DC and only once has an opponent scored more than their season PPG average against us. Of course, that was last year's Baylor team. On average teams score nearly 12 points less than their average PPG against Hayes led defenses at K-State.

How many snaps are they getting compared to their average? Not to say Hayes hasn't done a good job, but ball control has to be affecting that as much as the defense, no?

Gronk. The guy is a fullback with 2 touchdowns over 50 yards already

I have to wonder if the running backs behind him are any good, or if Snyder is putting too much stock in Hubert's tenacity and experience. We've only seen a small amount of Rose and Robinson, and given that last year Pease was at least able to take snaps away from Hubert outside of late game blowouts, I'd think the others would see some time if they were worth a crap.

Was swimming with some kid I had just met at a house party in their above ground pool. Kid swam through the rungs of the ladder that goes into the pool, under the water, then dares me to do the same. Pudgy me gets stuck trying to go through under water, kid tries to push me through from behind but it's not happening. I thought I was close enough to the surface to lean my head up and get my breath, ended up blowing some bubbles and getting no air. Panicked, then shoved myself backwards and out. No adults were supervising, was probably about 10-11.

Another time I was close to getting hit by a car on the highway driving into Basehor taking my mom to the chiropractor. Car was coming from the other direction, and I saw it driving in the median and kind of bouncing as it was heading into oncoming traffic. I swerved gently to the shoulder and avoided being hit by the car, but the dirt and rocks it kicked up dinged the hell out of my mom's van. Luckily, the other car avoided hitting other vehicles behind us and drove off into the grass on the other side of the highway without flipping, somehow. Apparently the driver hadn't been paying attention and some other car had pulled out onto the road in front of them, and they were about to rear end it when they noticed and then swerved into oncoming traffic.

I'm going to take this opportunity to pile on "MixBerryCrunch" by pointing out (for the second time!) that the character in his avatar is Mint-Berry Crunch, not "MixBerryCrunch".  :curse:

Had to go work a full shift like 10 minutes after that game ended. 2009 wasn't very fun  :blank:

Yeah, to an extent. Hubert could have been better, but I don't buy that a non-superhuman running back put into Hubert's shoes on most of those carries manages to look good.

Because Hubert had so many holes to run through, right? He was smothered on most of those carries.

I think the eye blood thing is a fun concept to play around with. I'm not crazy about having a helmet logo on the center back part of the helment, though. Like, Oregon's wing helmets would look better without the "O" on the back, imo. Still, would take.

Voted for KU because I don't want to be murdered. In hindsight I should have just not voted to be safe, but it seems like a small risk

CFL is a pass-happy league, Klein is the opposite of what they want.

When I was little my mom used to get a cooler and pack it with a variety of cans of Shasta for when we went on a road trip. Fell in love with cream soda that way, absolutely love it.

Hate red cream soda, I'm not sure how that garbage is popular enough to continue existing.

Any list with Lansing on it is Fake Sugar Dick (WARNING, NOT THE REAL SUGAR DICK!).  Not saying it's a great place, just not awful.  Lots of nice neighborhoods on the south side of town (homes $400k+), plenty of military officers who have lived all over the world (including international officers studying at the CGSC), good school district.

Obvious cons are the prison and proximity to Leavenworth.

Agreed, though I'm biased some as I lived there from middle school through high school. Proximity to Legends is another nice part of Lansing that should help keep it off any of these lists.

Kansas State Football / Re: This Team Is Better Than The 1998 Team
« on: January 06, 2013, 09:45:55 AM »
Either way, seems pretty clear that 98 was a better team in 98 than 2012 is in 2012, which is the only fair comparison to make here.

how is it clear? '98 lost to two decent teams in aTm and Purdue and '12 lost to a decent team in Baylor and a great team in Oregon. I think there are arguments for both.

98 didn't get run off the field the way 2012 did against Baylor. Perhaps a loss is a loss, but I feel that as a whole, the 2012 team didn't look like a NC caliber team the way that 98 did. Maybe I'm not looking at it objectively enough. 98 beat itself, and 2012 got beat by other teams, imo. I feel like 98 was more capable of beating the teams it lost to than 2012 was.

Memory is vague (I was 8-9) but didn't 98 run a whole heck of a lot of QB draws and options also, like both 2012 and 98 you had a pretty good idea of what was coming in terms of general offensive gameplan? Seems like 98 was harder to stop, given Bishop's athleticism and playmaking ability. Would 2012 have run into those issues if CK was either better or maybe just didn't get sketti brained?

Either way, seems pretty clear that 98 was a better team in 98 than 2012 is in 2012, which is the only fair comparison to make here.

We certainly weren't going to gain any if we had won, so at least we didn't lose in that respect.
