The game in lubbock could keep us out of tournament. What a shame.

Our loss at home to TCU was worse.

Eric Musselman

I'm still really high on this guy. He is two wins away from winning the MWC after taking over a 9 win team in 2015.

Theory: Currie recognizes his miss on bringing back an EMAW last year, fires oscar, brings in Jank.

Jank would be right at the top of Currie's list.

This year will be his first NCAA tournament appearance ever as a head coach, and it will be with Larry Brown's players.

Just beat #4 South Carolina.

There is zero reason to believe he will be fired.
Agreed.  I keep hearing everyone referring to making it to the NCAA tournament as a litmus for Weber keeping his job.  Was this part of Weber's contract?  Clearly Weber has not progressed the program.  In fact some would argue the program has regressed.

I don't think Currie fears firing Weber if necessary.  But right now this looks worse for Currie if he does fire Weber after 5 years, after how Martin left.  Even as much as I want to see K-State progress, I can also see the need to consider the fiscal side.  Right now even if fans boycott next season buy not buying tickets, it would probably be still cheaper to allow that than pay out the remainder of the contract.  This reminds me exactly what happened with Travis Ford in Stillwater last year.

We have an AD who our fans praise as being a great fundraiser. Scrounging up $2 million shouldn't be hard. Also, Travis Ford's buyout was twice as much as Weber's.

I could care less about beating KU. I want rankings, being in the running for confys, and runs in the tourney. KU wins will help, but it doesn't move the needle for me more than any other win.

Agreed. Frank's tenure set the bar at where our program should be.

It might be fun to see KSU lose every game they have left and just see how long Currie can do this.
That, to me, would be more entertaining than wins and a first round NCAA loss or first round NIT loss.

This. Do we really want 2-3 more years of oscar after a first round exit this year?

39
There's still plenty of time for oscar to blow this.

Who would we hire if we fire oscar? Last year, Brad was the obvious choice. There really isn't anyone out there screaming "hire me" right now, though.

I don't care ANYONE....  Hell hire Doug Gottlieb, if there is 5% chance he only an mediocre coach that's 5% more than Oscar..

Yeah, at this point I would take just about anyone besides oscar.

What are everyone's thoughts on this guy: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eric_Musselman

He inherited a 9 win team two years ago and has gone 41-18 in his first two seasons. He signed two four star kids last year as well.

I cannot imagine this team winning another road game.
Texas and OU are worse than OSU, so it's definitely possible.

So is Tennessee.
Yeah, the same team that just beat Kentucky that same week. Great point, PowercatPat!

Yep, the same team that is lower than OSU in KenPom and RPI.

We are a top 25 team and some of you are talking about firing the coach smdh.

What makes you think we are a top 25 team? We haven't beaten a team with a pulse.

Top 25 teams also find ways to win close games.

best win is still Omaha (#116)

http://realtimerpi.com/rpi_146_Men.html

...they seem to think we're going to win the rest of our home games (and @OU) and finish 20-11 (9-9). the very definition of bubble.

We would definitely be in with wins over BU, WVU, and KU at home.

48
oscar is now 4-25 in conference road games since 2013-14.

That's astounding

2 of those wins are against last place TCU teams as well.

Why do we crap our pants at the end of close games? Wes choked both this and the Maryland game away.
