Tiny house craze on the internet is insane to me. It's like, the goal is to get a huge nice house, not a tinier-than-mobile-home mobile home made out of pallets. Smh.

Agreed. Calling them Tiny Houses makes it seem a lot more epic than Fancy Trailers.

This thread actually helped me handle this situation today. I knew I should offer to step out for a few minutes to give time for composure, but my offer was declined. Felt pretty

I mean, the other person felt pretty  :bawl: , but I felt pretty

I've never tasted a good glass/plastic bottle tea. Snapple sucks

I am also unimpressed with most of them. Can we get some rankings of bottled iced teas that are commonly seen at gas stations? I'm going to focus on type and not flavors.

1. Snapple  :dunno:
2. Lipton Pure Leaf
3. Whatever is in the carafe that the gas station employees label as freshly brewed iced tea
4. Fountain drink iced tea
5. citrus green tea  :Yuck:

Here's a Mr. Coffee brand Iced Tea Maker hack for you....

Instead of adding ice, just brew a double batch... (Brew as normal, less ice then refill the reservoir and brew again using the same tea bag(s) again)...this leads to a full pitcher of strong tea. You can then just add ice/water to your cup to your liking. (This works especially well if you have a water dispenser on the fridge because almost no extra work to add water to your cup but the pitcher lasts twice as long.)

I use this method for my Hamilton Beach ice tea machine. Works great.

If you are an adventurous iced tea person, try my special iced tea recipe. It's a 4:1 ratio of black tea (usually English Breakfast) to orange spice tea.

Do you brew the teas then mix them or just throw in all the different tea bags when brewing?

I throw in all the bags at once and let God sort 'em out.

Shut up, Jevon Thomas. Go learn how to pass or shoot.

It's a sham that the opposing coaches vote for COY. These coaches are so jealous of Self for, year after year, making the look 2nd tier. I realize he can't win it every year, but this year he did more w less than he has in years past. Hell, he single handedly willed and coached Perry to 1st team status.

KU hasn't beaten Kansas State in Manhattan since 2013.  To put that in perspective, kids that will be entering kindergarten in 3 years weren't even born yet the last time KU won in bramlage.
my children have never seen KSU lose to KU at home

Mine too!

The legislation would allow grocery stores to sell full-strength beer, as well as wine and liquor. Convenience stores would also be allowed to sell full-strength beer. But the number of liquor licenses would be capped, requiring grocery stores that want to increase their alcoholic options to purchase a license — and boosting the value of the licenses held by liquor stores.

In addition, liquor stores would be allowed to sell nonalcoholic products.

Under current law, grocery and convenience stores may sell 3.2 percent alcohol malt beverages. Liquor stores are also not allowed to sell nonalcoholic products.

The problem with the bill is the liquor license cap. It makes the license valuable enough for a small-time store owner to cash out by selling to Dillon's and retiring. But you can be sure that no individual could ever offer enough money to buy an existing license from an entity like Dillon's, so no new mom & pop liquor stores could ever come into existence.

Walk-ons rising

While Beaty’s first class of scholarship players included just 24 new Jayhawks, the list of high school athletes interested in giving it a go in Lawrence was nearly twice as large as that number. Because of that, Beaty was able to encourage several of those uncommitted guys — particularly the in-state guys — to commit to Kansas as preferred walk-ons.

Back in December, when Beaty first met with the local media and talked about his plans for Kansas, developing a strong walk-on program was something he emphasized. In the weeks that followed, rather than focusing solely on the open spots in the signing class, Beaty continued to mine KU’s recruiting hubs for untapped potential and came away pretty pleased with what he found.

“It’s coming along great,” Beaty said of the walk-on program. “That’s a real advantage for guys that might be just a hair off of what they want to be to be a Division I player. Like I said before, there’s more than 25 guys in the state of Kansas and throughout the country that want to come to Kansas and play Division I football. We have an opportunity that’s a little bit unique right now that some people look at as a disadvantage. I look at it as an opportunity for some guys. I can’t speak about anyone or anything other than the guys that we signed, but I’m very pleased with the progress of that program.”

Beaty and the rest of the KU coaching staff are not allowed to talk about any unsigned players until they are enrolled on campus. Because of that, it’s hard to know exactly who the future walk-ons will be until they are on the roster and working with the team. Even then, their spot is not set in stone, as several former walk-ons have been added to or dropped from the roster throughout the spring, summer and fall.

I don't necessarily want them both to transfer, but I also don't think one of them ALWAYS needs to be on the court.

Yeah, the funny thing is that oscar already takes both of them out in close games at the end and leaves Marcus at PG. He could probably afford to do that 10 minutes a game and be okay.

I don't think Jevon is terrible, but he's definitely a work in progress and oscar definitely needs to work to recruit a better player. And I think overall that Jevon is better than Nigel. Both are probably back up PGs at the Big 12 level.

I agree, but I wish Marcus would prove he can handle the ball. His turnover at half court vs Tech was very WTF - defender stumbles behind Marcus after almost stealing the ball off his dribble, then comes back and steals the ball from behind. It was as if Marcus thought the guy took a dive over the press table instead of being 3 feet behind him.

The Hurt Shocker.

 It's a shame Hurt is such a pun goldmine because we may have few opportunities to use them. Hopefully he will keep shooting with confidence.

47
"growing up, all I did was watch Kobe," he said. "I watched Kobe in his prime, and he was still making game-winners and big shots, so it's something I always imagined myself doing at the college level."

Maybe Marcus was in a funk because he was coming to grips with his hero's decline?  :dunno:

My thread title world have been "Please oscar, don't Hurt 'em", and every alternative mentioned has been far better.

I'm excited to watch this Wednesday. The prospect of hitting rock bottom at home against TCU is too enticing to pass up. Add in the possibility of Nino or Foster going Sprewell on oscar and it's must see TV.

49
Is there anything oscar could do to get your eyes back on this team this year?

Here's what would grab my interest:

1. Bench Jevon. This isn't about fouling the 3-point shooter or throwing the inbounds pass away. This is about a point guard who makes terrible passes and can't shoot.

2. Increasing Foster's shot attempts to a Kobe-like rate.

But really, those changes would only hold my interest for a game or two. To watch the full conference slate, I'd need to see:

3. Installing that crazy Grinnell D3 offense where you cherry-pick and shoot a million 3s per game, or basically any offense where we shoot 3s non-stop. Like, Hurt and Foster run a pick and pop on every possession. I realize we aren't full of sharpshooters, but if you're going to lose almost all of your conference games anyway, we may as well start chucking 3 balls.

4. Focus on setting a K-State record during each game. Feed Foster the ball to see if he can break Askia Jones' 62-point game record, or his 14 3-pointers record. See if any of our idiots can break the 16 assist record held by Keith Frazier from 1976 - just pick one guy as the designated assist man, and instruct all players to shoot immediately after he passes. You see where I'm going with this. Ignore winning the game and go for the records. I do this in video games sometimes - it's fun!
