Madison's flighty-but-lovable roommate Kynley (up and coming Rebel Wilson type) has gone back to Iowa to finish the semester online, so Madison is begrudgingly taking care of the roommate's misbehaving beagle, Zayn. Despite being from rural NY, Madison is NOT an animal person.

Madison decides to take Zayn on a walk (or the other way around, lol), and she witnesses some guy gently chide a lady for walking her tiny dog without a leash. The lady immediately loses her crap and tells the guy she wishes he had Coronavirus. Jared also witnesses the scene, and he and Madison make small talk about the incident.

Madison says to Jared that the lady is obviously way out of bounds and needs to be mindful of leash laws, Jared agrees that she shouldn't have said that about Covid-19, but also that they guy should just mind his own business. Things escalate into a mild argument, and Madison and Zayn walk off in a huff, frustrated with the strong-willed (but cute) Jared.

Later that night, Madison recounts the incident in a Zoom conversation with Kynley.

high school, 2 chipotle burritos in one sitting. spent the next class after lunch laying a massive chipotle missile in the toilet. full little caesars pizza by myself another time,  macho meal at DQ was also where it was at as well as the big ass slice with a drink at gumbys

@WonderMeal

I ate three Chipotle burritos in 37 minutes when I was 23. Ingredients were chosen by co-workers to ensure that they were legit burritos and not slimmed-down 'tos to accomplish the challenge.

After it was over I went back to my hotel room, took off my shirt, and laid on the bathroom floor for about 90 minutes.

If you are interested Kansas has a record of all brands registered with the state and you can look up old timey brands from your ancestors. I randomly found a link to the "brand book" from the 80's a couple of months ago but don't have it on hand.

Also I just noticed today that the chimney of our farmhouse has the first letter of our last name up at the top of it.
I ordered ours from the state a few years ago.  They sent the original.   On  the back was each renewal date.

Somewhere along the way the iron got lost.  I wish I still had that.

Well this was a neat little thing to find. Used the 1941 brand book to find both of my great granddads' brands. Ol' Great Granddad WonderMeal had the coolest brand in Meade Co.

Tom and other beef magnates--is there any benefit to branding a cow in one part of the body vs. another? I'm guessing you always put the brand in the same place so that the N-quarter-circle in Spearville isn't confused with the N-quarter-circle in Medicine Lodge, but like...is it better or easier to brand a cow on the shoulder vs. the ribs?

1) Please compare Middle Eastern countries to Big XII teams past, present, and future. Which team is analagous to Jordan? Who is the Nebraska of the Middle East?
2) What's the school situation like for your Lil Cats (assuming some sort of American School for Diplomats Kids or something) and how does the Jordan school compare to the Egypt school?
3) Did you buy any Michael B. Jordan books to put in the book case or just Michael Jordan?
4) Best and weirdest foods specific to Jordan?
5) Where did you meet Bedouins? Were you wandering somewhere?

I still don't think the take was wrong. Sure, Mahomes won Super Bowl MVP, but can you imagine how many rings the Chiefs would have if they had drafted Zebbie Lethridge?

These are trying times for Wildcatland, but if Weird Robert has taught me one thing is that you can either be a Wildcat or a Jayhawk, you cannot be both. One must pick a side.

I choose the side of Cats. For this one game, at least.

(Honestly, would prefer to go back to Porky Morgan's Cats for basketball as well.)

What doctor is doing a C-section on Christmas day?  My son was due Christmas day and the doc. scheduled to induce 3 days before so he didn't have the possibility of coming in on Christmas.

*whispers*
Not all doctors or nurses or patients celebrate Christmas...

Dear Family,

The best thing about fall and the colder weather--Mrs. Freshly's Boston Creme Honey Buns are back in the vending machine.  Woo-hoo!!!!! (They don't have them during warmer weather, because the chocolate melts in the un-airconditioned vending truck.)

It's a great day to be in [REDACTED].

Love,
Dad

Schwab checking accounts reimburse for all ATM fees at home or abroad. Not sure if that's common now, but it's a nice feature.

Now that the Cat Players Who Are Food To thread (and accompanying song from Skinny Benny's canadian friend) has died down, this is mayhaps the TOP thread on gE right now, folks.

It happened.  I always knew this day would come, but you can never really be ready for a loss like this.  The truth is that I have to admit she's gone.  The burner unit on my smoker died.  It's over for her.  After years of service she's been sent to the pits of hell where she'll smoke and smolder for an eternity.

Though from the ashes a new love shall rise.  In short, it's shopping time folks.  I'm looking at a whole new world and am unsure which road to take.  My previous smoker was a vertical propane smoker.  She was solid.  I loved the convince of this smoker.  It usually took me about 45 to get it to temp and then it just ran. About every 3 1/2 hours I would walk out and throw a hunk of wood in the smoker, but other than that, she just ran.  I loved that I could take her camping or to a tailgate.   I might just go that route again.

I'm also considering a pellet smoker. The really like the idea of flipping a dial and having that thing just roll the perfect temp and smoke overnight. I do a LOT of over night cooks and I must admit I'm a bit tired of setting an alarm.  I've done some reading though that a pellet smoker never truly imparts that pure smoke flavor, though I kinda wonder if that's just elitist being snobs.  I must admit I've never actually eaten food from a pellet smoker.

I'm looking at a charcoal smokers as well.  WW has provided me with some amazing ribs & brisket from his WSM.  I've read enough about them to know they're just a solid solid smoker.  Also, I like the idea of not having any components that could fail.  I could buy a WSM and use it for the next 15 year.  My major complaint about these smokers are 1) I think they're expensive for how simple they are. 2) I'm not sure I want something that I have to add charcoal to on a 16ish hour cook.

So what say you gE?  Come on this journey with me.  Though I must warn you I don't move quickly.  It'll likely be a few months before I decide.

Samesies to everything K_T_P said, but add "Is a Big Green Egg a viable smoker option?" to the list. Plz respond if you are @AST or AST-adjacent.

100 losses in 10 years doesn't seem like something that is even possible.
KU would join UTEP as the two programs to have ever achieved it.

Would KU surpass UTEP if they end up with 101 losses?
Shockingly, no.  UTEP lost a staggering 103 at one point.

They can't even win the "most losses in 10 years" contest. :(

Guys, I think I'm in trouble with Amex.

Every time I try to apply for a card--one that I've never had before--I get a message before submitting the application that says something like, "Our records show you have 500 credits cards, so you can't open an account with us. If you cancel now, we won't pull your credit score."

How do I get back on Amex's good side?

Need to buy a new-to-her sedan for @MrsWondermeal. She wants a hybrid (~40+ mpg), only drives in the city to and from work. Will probably go with a Fusion Hybrid from a rental car sales place because we can buy it online and be done with it. Have done this before and had no issues.

We both feel very Pete-ish about cars, and will take any other recommendos.
