Kansas State Football / Re: Football Recruiting Thread

It's not facilities. It's our assistants. When we had young blood like Bob and Venzy they'd drunk dial recruits at 2 a.m. Now we have Dana Dimel who passes out at 6 p.m. after eating a double decker club at village inn. Michael Smith does ok, but our only other young blood assistants are named Joe Bob and Cox.

We're not entitled to everyone in Kansas, and I have never said kids should be loyal to K-State.

But as far as K-State goes, this is not just a one here, one there situation, this is a now a trend, a long term trend.

This staff has a horrific close rate on in-state kids desired by other schools.

What else infuriates me is all of this, "well, they've got T. Boone Pickens" Bullshit.   T. Boone Pickens Stadium fka Lewis Field was an absolute dump, that was literally crumbling to the ground.   While they were literally trying to keep the place from crumbling to the earth in a steaming pile of rusted, twisted steel.   We could have been building all the player facilities they have now, and it wouldn't have taken $200 f_cking million dollars.   But instead, we let LHC LHC Bill Snyder rule, and instead what we got was a minuscule cosmetic addition to the North Side of Vanier, the remodeling of a handful of areas, a bunch of flat screen TV's and some new carpeting and fixtures (just enough money was spent to NOW make it very hard to justify tearing the whole place down and start over, LHC LHC Bill Snyder couldn't be happier).   Its nice, that's it, its nice, its not a head turner, it isn't going to wow any kid . . . and despite all the stamping, stomping and screaming by the Powertards, when you package the winning, aggressive recruiters/young coaches with state of the art facilities, K-State is going to lose more times than not.   All this BS about "Great People" is just lip service BS from most of the kids to make us or most K-State fans feel better about themselves.  Its 2012, and kids want 40 sets of uniforms and Ipads in the lockers, and Taj Mahal dressing rooms . . . and apparently they want it rammed down their throats by relentless recruiters who don't play the "go whatever way your internal intrinsic values tell you to go" . . . 18 years have to be sold and sold HARD!

To put this in perspective, our other CB  Chapman got one pick last year, he had no idea what to do with the ball once he had it and was slow as eff once he finally took off for the endzone. The 48 year old baseball player from OSU was running with him stride for stride.

eff

goEMAW.com staff has been in touch with some folks that are very close to the Jerel Morrow recruitment. The source said the Jerel's recruitment is "still up in the air" and added that it was "a very fluid situation." The five foot eleven inch senior to be has other schools such as oklahoma state and nebraska lining up as well and is a player that we will continue to keep our eye on.

a tall and very fast 2013 in-state LB to keep an eye on.  Emilio Mitchell of Hays, 6'3 205.  Dude has superb wheels and length.  Don't think he's a great player but Tre Walker wasn't in high school, either.  He's beena  really pleasant suprise.  Mitchell can fly.

will participate in 5A state 100 meters beginning tomorrow.  Third fastest time in 5A at regionals (10.78)

some junior video from 2011 season at Hays: http://www.hudl.com/athlete/548789/#highlights/9863373

and of course he passes the look test...see the monster in the middle of the track

watched him in 3 or 4 meets this year... i don't really know anything about track, but i lol'd at the other people in his races.  the dreaded "damn, that guy is way faster than me" for those who are not whatever that dude's name is.

Reminds me of Jordy's track meets. Give the kid a scholly

Hate when writers just try to "stir the pot" like this.  Hope LHOFHCBS sticks this on a bulletin board so Arthur Brown and Laton Dowling can start training with a "chip on their shoulder."

Why Laton Dowling

WHY NOT?!?

Why not Cole Bachamp?
