I'm going to steal this from Super70sSports but he was the master of toothpick coolness. Also a Royals baseball academy grad.

Essentially Flyertalk / Re: Any cyclists?

I'm looking at getting a bike and am seeking advice on what to look for. I used to bike a lot but only used a beach cruiser to get around. I was travelling 2-4 miles a couple times on a good week. Now I'm near a 17 mile, flat, paved trail and I think I'll want to go more than 2 miles at a time. As a newb, what's a good cheap bike to seek out on Facebook marketplace or a used bike shop? I'm looking at spending $200-$300.
Specialized Sirrus or Kona Dew or whatever Trek’s equivalent model is called would be great for something like this.

Trek Dual Sport 2?

i've seen border collie x pyrenees crosses before.  neat looking animals, but i think the conflicting instincts/energy levels could make for a problematic dog.

i follow a guy on twitter who's posted some drone vids of using drones to check cattle that opened my eyes to ag drone use.
How far can a drone that is available to a median cow farmer fly?

Could you buy a helicopter type drone with a live feed camera for say $1000 that has a 5ish mile range?

I honestly have no idea but I assume the tech is going to continue to get cheaper and more accessible.

Can you count cows with a drone?

Setting aside abortion or whatever he has in mind, what is the rationale for thinking we need more kids?

There are media pubs who are pushing for big white families. Kirk, Tucker, etc. Could be repeating that talking point.

most people in Pete's economic demographic over save for retirement. counterpoint like 50% of the population has zero savings for retirement.

I think our guy Pete should leave his job in 6 years or less.
I just did the math and I’d have to beat inflation by 12.5% each year to hit my desired number in 6 years.

Just drop the number a bit. Time is the one thing you can never get more of.
Or split the difference and move to part time work at some point. I’m not sure if/when I’ll fully retire but I’m planning to be done with full time work in about 5-8 years.

Dude! A couple people where I work have done that lately and I just learned that they still get full benefits.  I am totally going to go after that at some point, assuming I do not get crap canned before then.

My mom did that to keep her health insurance.

Why would someone who champions the traditional patriarchal family go to the grocery store?

ISS wasn't that great but it met or exceeded my expectations. It was made up of a lot of things that I enjoy in movies (global war, space stuff and America vs Russia). I doubt most people will like it but if you have similar taste in moves as me then it might be for you! It has Danny from the Mindy Project.

It was a good B movie.

How much would you have to make in order to live in Alaska?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The better question to me is how long would you be willing to live in Alaska. I bet it'd be fun for a year, maybe two.

I enjoyed the season. I was on my couch and ready to watch every Sunday night. I thought the location and the nature of the murders made for a fun season. I also like supernatural stuff and this season had plenty of that.

I thought the finale was fine. It wrapped everything up and answered all of my questions. I thought there was plenty of stupid stuff throughout the season. Like they just fell through some ice and the killer just happened to be there. Stupid. How they handled Navarro's sister's death. Stupid. Prior's wife. Annoying. The murderers were kind of underwhelming but it fit. What was the point of the Russian bride?

I would've preferred a couple more episodes but people like Star Seed would've hated that.

The one thing I saw on Twitter that made me chuckle was, "True detective: Cover up 8 murders. Solve 0."

Now I wait for the Kate Winslet series!  :impatient:

I'm surprised by the lack of talk around True Detective this season. I've enjoyed this season but there's a lot riding on tonight's finale. I feel like there's been a lot of build up with little to show for it so far so we'll see how they handle it tonight.

Probably because it's rough ridin' terrible. Legit one of the biggest pieces of crap hbo has ever put out.

I've seen others share this sentiment on Twitter but I've enjoyed it. A lot will depend on how tonight's episode wraps things up. Rotten Tomatoes likes it.

Lira was active on YouTube under the pseudonym Coach Red Pill (CRP), an allusion to Red Pill and Black Pill symbolism in the manosphere community. The content was misogynistic[9] and anti-feminist in nature, appealing to incels.

Explains why Dax and Tucker have such a hard on for this guy.

Dude goes to to Ukraine, pushes misinformation from the invader and surprisingly goes to prison. Play stupid games win stupid prizes.

Curb has been really good, the angle this season is fantastic. The new curb rewatch podcast with Jeff and Suzie is a good reason to either restart curb or start it for the first time and follow along with the podcast. The very first episode of the series, The Pants Tent, was as funny as a 30 minutes of programming that I can remember in some time.

Started a rewatch of curb last week because my sister just started watching. On S2 now. Incest survivor support group has been my favorite episode so far during my rewatch.

It’s a great economy if you’re a baby boomer with a lot of assets, it’s horrible for anyone who wants to acquire assets at a reasonable price.  So it’s bad for like 95% of the population (really, closer to 99 but I’ll be generous).

I agree with your grievance but I think wealth inequality and the economy are separate conversations.

Paul Krugman is an absolute #blueanon shill who refuses to tear into the real numbers.

Joe Biden:  Making part time jobs great again

That Nobel laureate is a #blueanon shill!  I get my unbiased news where they tear into the "real numbers" from a news aggregate website created by a respected white nationalist fired by the Trump admin!  :shakesfist:
