If anyone is wanting tickets for Sunday since we will be winning on Friday with me and my family there. I can get my second session tickets to anyone that wants a pair or all four for $15 a piece.  They have Chairbacks. We bought tickets for both sessions but cannot make sunday in manhattan.

Check your DMs (if it's not too late)

At home, Colorado's lost 6 of their last 8, they play a slow pace, Lee will have a 3 inch height advantage against their center, they're not really great in any particular area (though they do shoot it fairly well from 3 pt) - this is as good of a draw to get to the Sweet 16 as we could have asked for.

After that - arguably the toughest of all 4 brackets.
Am I missing something? Wouldn't you say that the bracket containing S. Carolina is the toughest?

I think he means depth of teams at the regional. South Carolina is one of the best teams of all time, they will win the national championship. Unfortunately, I will have us losing to LSU in the regional final. Having to play the second best team in the country to get to the final four after beating the best player is unfortunate.

Correct on all accounts...

Oddsmakers have SC as the overwhelming favorite (-120!), but No. 2 is Iowa (+550) and No. 3 is LSU (+900).

I don't know when the last time K-State played in the NIT was, but I remember a home game against TCU in 1999 when Billy Tubbs brought Lee Nailon (formerly of Butler CC) to Bramlage and Nailon absolutely killed K-State in what was a relatively close game that we lost. That dude was a baller.

55
After we came within one at 39-40 at the 16:05 mark, we then committed TOs on 7 of our next 10 possessions. That largely fueled a 26-6 run over the next 10 minutes of game time.

Just an unreal level of carelessness/stupidity with the b-ball.

56
There are nine "bubble" teams (defined here as any team No. 35 or lower in the NET rankings) with 5 or more Q1 wins: No. 35 Clemson (5-5), No. 37 Colorado St. (5-7), No. 41 TCU (5-10), No. 43 Washington St (6-3), No. 47 Texas A&M (5-6), No. 51 Northwestern (5-6), No. 62 Providence (5-8), No. 64 Seton Hall (5-7) and No. 68 K-State (5-7).

Of that group, only Clemson and Providence do NOT have a Q3 or Q4 loss.

I think it's 99.9% likely that we need to win tonight in order to get in and I'm not sure that makes us an automatic given that the computers hate us for some reason.

Terry wasted that team this year, my god that is so much talent.

Absolutely. He was mostly a dud as a head coach who would have been fired at Fresno St and UTEP if he hadn't bailed for other jobs. And, now he's the head guy at Texas thanks to Beard - at least for a couple more years until they fire him.

Life is strange...

Updated NET rankings have K-State at No. 14, Indiana at No. 15 and Colorado at No. 16.

After updating today, ESPN bracketology guy still has IU and CU 4 seeds and K-State going to No. 4 Gonzaga (No. 12 in NET).

Also seems odd that the Big 12 would only have one top four seed (Texas) in favor of giving another one to the Big Ten (3) and Pac-12 (4).

Serious question: what did Saban do? He seems like a hardass but I can’t think of anything that’s really made me question his integrity, or that he at all played a part in the BS the SEC has been engaged in.

I personally know three people who worked with him directly at different jobs and they all described him in varying terms as essentially being "the most miserable a$$hole on the planet."

Beyond being insufferable to work for (it wasn't just people using him as a stepping stone to better jobs - you could only work for that guy for a finite amount of time), he was an incredible hypocrite in loads of respects - whether it be about money, the level playing field, etc. He presented himself as an advocate for the game, but he was always incredibly self-serving and disingenuous.

One of my favorite hypocrite moments was Saban bitching constantly for 2-3 years about up tempo/no-huddle offenses ruining the game of football ("Is this really what we want football to be?") and then getting pasted a few times and hiring Lane Kiffin to install an up tempo/no-huddle offense.

Obviously a great coach - at least when he had the advantages of being in top tier programs - there's mythology that he was great at Michigan State - he wasn't. He had one good year and then bolted for LSU.

Anyways, he's just a turd of a person - like many coaches, unfortunately.

Gonzaga losing to a +100 NET team in Portland in the WCC tourney final is potentially good for us as they were projected as a No. 4 above us

Could be scare tactics, but I actually think this could happen

I'm going to do unspeakable horns down things in T-Mobile on Wednesday

Would love one last We Own Texas chant

I guess we did hang 116 on them last year in Austin, but aside from that I can’t remember the last time we beat them in anything.  :frown: Still should do the chant tho bc eff those jerks

Ahem, the volleyball team would like a word

63
I don't believe any of that either, but do take a great deal of delight in this line:

"Another possibility raised was Texas A&M leaving the SEC and joining the Big Ten since Texas is now the Lone Star State's marquee brand in the conference."

64
Having a hard time trying to decide the degree to which this is more legitimate than any Helms titles... 10 times more legit? 100 times?

Beat Texas and we host.

Lose and... who knows.

As it relates to the last few of the top 16 in the committee rankings... No. 13 Colorado lost to No. 12 Oregon State in OT after winning their first tourney game, No. 14 Indiana was upset by Michigan in its first game, No. 15 Gonzaga plays on Monday and Oklahoma won today and plays ISU tomorrow.

Is Colorado losing 6 of its last 8 games and Indiana getting upset enough to push us into the top 16 if we lose to UT given that we picked up another top 25ish win?

Well what a cut (for me). Listening on the varsity, and at one moment they are up 9, it skips and it's tied at 51  :frown:

They are up 3 for me now with Lee going out

We're fortunate - couple of no-calls on Lee that easily could have been called

WVU was 3-for-10 from the field in the second quarter with 4 TOs and 8 total points.

They started the game 8-for-10 from the field (and 4-for-5 from 3) in the first 5:30 of the game... then they went 3-for-18 the rest of the half (0-for-6 from 3).

Blacksten will be back in the 2nd after picking up 2 fouls in the first quarter - hope we play her differently because when she stretches the floor, it was a big issue for us.

Not so bad now

Their bigs fouling Lee nonstop is helping, but, just like the last game, they went from being on fire to ice cold - I wouldn't necessarily say it was entirely attributable to us. Either way, the light's come on for us.

Man, Tech with a natty. Would love to sneak one like that

Both KSU teams score zero points... would have to go back a long time to see that happen in an NCAA meet.

Rovelto's been on the decline and we might be reaching the point where it's time to retire.

The Mittie handicap in full effect in the first quarter. WVU comes out and does the exact same thing as in the last game (their 3 pt shooting center pops out after screens and drills 3s) and it's as though we've never seen it because Lee is sagging instead of guarding the screener . We keep going under screens and they hit 5 of their first 6 3s.

Will have to dig ourselves out of a hole (again).

72
I don't know why, but I find this ISU team distasteful compared to the Huggy WVU teams that grabbed, held, bumped, hand-checked all the time

73
curtis jones fouls on every possession

Jones rule is that he's got to bump his guy six times before a foul can be called (was only 5 on that possession)

74
So, coach ill-fitting shirt "never" hounds refs about bad calls, but has spent half of this game "talking" to refs

Obviously, Rudy is reading this board for motivation because the Cats threw a combined no-hitter tonight - 9th in school history and first in seven years.
