Yost takes the lead in games managed for the royals tonight, crazy that they've never had anyone manage longer

wut

i'm thinking wide receiver screens out of trips, ala broncos if they play off. if they play up, pick plays. jet sweeps to switch it up and get a few quick yards when we need it. underneath slants out of trips. overloading one side and hitting a quick slant coming across to the clear side. out and ups w/pump fake on the out and a beautiful bomb on the ups!

omg you are such a closet broncos fan. i mean, wow. at least try to hide it, bud.

Finnigan's little celebration after that clutch strikeout was winneresque.

slimz go ahead and put duffy to the top of the winners list.

Confirmed. Duffy's unfortunate absence clearly was cause of loseritis outbreak.

regarding the sacrifices - aoki has been hitting great lately.  but i believe the data indicate that sac bunting to get two runners over is pretty much a coin flip vs letting all three batters hit.  so the second bunt was not an indefensible decision.  the first bunt was purportedly aoki's decision.  i don't know what to say about that.  it's weird.  the royals are kind of a weird team and aoki seems like kind of a weird dude.

Depends on the batter and specific team and opponent, but what I've seen on bunting with runners on 2nd and 3rd in tie game is that it's awash for win probability in 7th inning, and to your advantage thereafter. Never seen a defense of it in the third or fourth innings, which is when it occurred here. Especially when you're playing a team with the offensive output of the Tigers (i.e., probably going to need more than one run to win), and especially ESPECIALLY when Guthrie is on the mound. Shields is a less-worse decision, but from the analysis I've seen it was still a move that decreased the Royals' odds of winning. However, I would think it would be more to the Royals' advantage than other teams to do it anytime bottom of the sixth or thereafter, given the bullpen studs.

Predictos for remaining games? Tough matchups vs. Cleveland. Think we drop 2 of 3 to the Indians, then take 2 of 4 versus the Sox. Finish the season 3-4, and  :ohno: as we scoreboard watch.

The royals organization emphasizes anything that was in fashion in 1967. Everyday is throwback thursday.

The [KC Sports Board] Word.

Really enjoying CF3's Royals meltdown. Very cathartic. Also looking forward to booing Ned in person tomorrow. And for an opportune time to offer a disgusted "hey, these guys are losers!" heckle after the Royals are well on their way to losing (as we all know they will be).

Got big plans for my $400 worth of playoff tix and the return credit on my credit card bill once we're officially eliminated from making the playoffs.

Two centuries ago, con artists like Ned Yost would be tarred, feathered, and run out of town on a rail. What a lucky SOB.

Until further notice, all Royals players are moved to the "losers" list. Unfortunately, Ned and Aaron's loser virus appears to have gone airborne and infected everyone in the clubhouse.

Stupid Tigers...none of those runs from last night carry over to today. Way to waste your energy, dorks.

Detroit is so far in the heads of this team that it's kind of sad. Mostly embarrassing, but also sad.

:dunno:

Auburn is a pretty good team that will lose some games simply because their schedule is brutal. I don't buy into SEC hype completely, but they have a combination of size and speed that we simply won't see from many Big 12 teams. It looked like a September game with both teams making mistakes. Ours were more costly overall, but Auburn had some bad ones too. It happens sometimes early in the year, even when good teams play each other. JMHO.

So typical. Take off the purple glasses, _FAN. Last night showed that every week's going to be a dogfight from here on out. A trip to Memphis for the Liberty Bowl is looking like a pretty lofty goal right now.

at least we get ku at home. every other game from here on out is an uphill battle.

Even that ku game is looking like a toss-up now. Cozart made more plays with his feet last week against Duke (stronger defense than ours) than Marshall did against us last night, and they look about evenly inconsistent when it comes to throwing the ball. ku's main issue defensively was giving up breakaway runs, but we saw last night that our running backs aren't going to be breaking away from anybody.   :frown:

That KU game's probably gonna be for bowl eligibility, too.  :ohno:

Haven't we known this since Baylor 2012 OU 2000?

Detroit has to be pretty pissed watching the ChiSox just roll over and throw guys like this scrub Sale out there against us.

Miles Davis makes a good soundtrack for a Royals rally. Also helps keep my blood pressure down.

I think I should have included Nori in the "winners" column already.

Just hypothetical, but if possible, what would Detroit give us for one of our big 3 relievers right now? Nathan is a mess.

billion dollarz (with a z)

Have to auction off some art, first.

Winners win. Especially down the stretch. Royals have to decide whether they're winners or Royals losers.

This weekend we will see

Yup. I hope for my sake they at least decide to be winners Sunday afternoon.

Yep.

They've lost enough to probably lose the division. Fortunately they are in position to win enough to win a wildcard, maybe even the home game. Can they do it?

It's there for them. Alex, Danny, James, Yordano, Wade, Kelvim, Alcides, and Greg seem to be winners. Time for Salvy, Mike, Eric, Nori, and Jarrod to decide whether they want to also be winners. It's gonna take all their efforts to drag dead weight losers like Ned, Aaron, and Scott across the finish line.

Gotta say, these points and margins that Auburn put up last year *are* pretty impressive (except for that 16-9 blip more typical of the usual SEC):

 66–0
 73–7
 48–7
 62–7
 16–9
 52–20
 52–7
 54–6
 49–6
 40–30
 31–25
