64. KANSAS STATE (0–1). I'm still a little bit wary of the people who actually predicted an upset by North Dakota State over the defending Big 12 champs, but in K-State's defense I am willing to believe that the shocker of the weekend says a lot more about the Bison than it does about their latest victims. For one, there have been others: Kansas in 2010, Minnesota in 2011, Colorado State in 2012, all practice runs for the big kill. For another, North Dakota State is just pretty damn good. Just a few years removed from "provisional" status, the Bison have won back-to-back FCS titles on the back of a dominant defense, one that's held eight playoff opponents over the last two years to 8.8 points per game. (The highest-scoring FCS team in the nation in both of those seasons, Sam Houston State, managed six points in the 2011 championship game and 13 in last year's rematch.) The upset in Manhattan looked a lot like a vintage K–State ambush, especially the winning drive, an 18-play, 80-yard march that snuffed out the final nine minutes of the game. If you can imagine a more fitting name than "Brock Jensen" for the quarterback who somehow out-tortoised LHC LHC Bill Snyder, I'd like to hear it.
Anyway, this is the part where everyone writes off Kansas State as marginally talented frauds getting a long-overdue dose of reality until we look up in a couple months and realize the Wildcats have won like eight in a row.

Still hearing the ku fans in my office talk like they just won the Superbowl. They pointed out that unless the lose to 1-10 South Dakota State, they will have a better record that the 'Cats at least 2 weeks into the season. Never seen a group as happy about a loss to big bro.
So, congrats, lil bro, on having a better record than K-State for at least a week.

I get the recruiting, but the phylosophy of if 5 guys cant get to the qb, ill send 7 really doesnt work in todays times. Besides we had ron prince, james franklin, and raheem morris. All these guys could land was josh freeman from 120 miles away. The state of kansas isnt what i would call a haven for good recruits to come to.
Recruits go to a lot of terrible places to play for good recruiters. Have you ever been to Stillwater, Norman or Waco? Those are godawful towns to live in for 4/5 years.

From what I saw, this is false. You guys do have a damn good squad. Waters seems to be a pretty decent follow up QB to Klein. He hit what, 21 of 28 with 2 of them going for 40 yard + touchdowns? Yeah, he'll be a great QB for you guys. The only thing I think KSU could really improve upon is stopping the run. Absolutely nothing your defense did could stop our power run game. Okay, well, that is NDSU's bread and butter so we do have quite a bit of experience with that, and I truly think KSU will win quite a few games this year. It was a clean squad and seemed very level-minded (and very much full of sportmanship). I have nothing but respect for the KSU fanbase and this was a damn fun time BSing with you guys. Personally, I wish NDSU goes FBS so we can join "the big time" and have s*** like this happen every week. But, that simply isn't in our budget quite yet. Hope to see ya'll someday again. Drink but don't die from it. KSU is still a far better team than KU if that's any consolation.

"The State University of Kansas" sounds like a Rutgers knock-off. It would be even more of a knock off if there were a University of New Jersey and if that school were richer, larger and statistically better in just about every significant statistical category than Rutgers.

"The State University of Kansas" sounds like a Rutgers knock-off. It would be even more of a knock off if there were a University of New Jersey and if that school were richer, larger and statistically better in just about every significant statistical category than Rutgers.
