I suggest any additional scaling down efforts start with the women's locker rooms.

:dunno:

If you mean reducing the project by eliminating the women's locker room work, I am fully on board with that.

http://cjonline.com/sports/basketball/2010-02-19/ksu_adds_hoops_facility_to_plan

"The request represents a scaled-down version of the $70 million improvement plan approved by the regents in 2008. The project originally included a new ticket office, a Wildcat hall of fame and improvements to the west side of Snyder Family Stadium."

Glad to see they are not only being reasonable in scaling it down, but also have their priorities in the right place by making Frank's facility the one being pushed forward.

The Ticket office, HOF, and BSFS improvements are all wants.  The BB facility is a need.

Although, Blair's article does have a quote from Burkes saying that CU started following him his Soph year.

what does 'follow' mean?  got a letter?  was no else 'following' him that year?

Read Blair's article in the link rather than examining my wording:

"That was after Burks’ sophomore season at Grandview, and it’s also when Colorado started paying attention.

Buffaloes coach Jeff Bzdelik was scouting other players when he found himself at a summer camp in Leavenworth that Burks attended.
Crazy because nobody else, at least from a major conference, had taken notice. But the Buffaloes’ efforts started immediately.
“They saw me then, and I guess they felt like I could do something,” Burks said

Hmmm, CNSCasey vindicated, or sloppy journalism?

Quote
Burks committed to Colorado as a junior, and then his high school and future college teams got a bonus. He grew to 6-6 as a Grandview senior, and everything changed.

http://www.kansascity.com/sports/story/1758659.html

unbelievable.  sam mellinger, hold this 'tard colleague of yours accountable.

This article has some diff info from the radio interview, in that Blair's article says that Bzey said he was scouting other players and noticed Burks.  The radio interview I mention above, stated that an assistant found Burks and turned Bz on to him and Bz first saw him at a camp in Wyoming.

It all sounds like shades of bullshit.

Although, Blair's article does have a quote from Burkes saying that CU started following him his Soph year.

Picked up my "Public Speaking" TA at 12th street, had some pretty awful drunken sex with her, still got an A.

Ballsy chick to grade you on your sexual performance.

Who is our high BBIQ poster who can now tie this development to the negotiation of Frank Martin's contract.  Am I mistaken, or was the practice facility a high priority for Frank?

I thought I heard in the past that Frank was intent on making facility expansion a required component in his contract-to-be.  It would make sense that the facility project progress is part of that.  Showing Frank that the Uni is serious.

Who knows?  Just a guess.

Let's be honest Ben.   Lew stepped all over his crank with his proclamations about the gridiron club.

I have been following facilities projects in college athletics very closely for a long time . . . and no school that I've seen at ku's level has ever pulled off a privately funded $35 million dollar project in less than a year.    I am not knocking ku here, but Lew bit off more than he could chew on that one.

On a project of that budget there is almost no way to go from conceptual design to permit level drawings in that time frame. So there is for sure no way you get to the construction/shop drawing level. now lew is prolly blowing cash for people reissue design documentation and to re-permit.

I was assuming that the design was already complete?   :dunno:

Regardless of design status, you are still correct on timing.  No way in one year.

Anyone else think that Billy is out there doing what Huggs did in his time off?  Getting buddy buddy with a couple hot shot HS kids, since he has no NCAA regs governing his contact with them?

Could he be poised to make the next turnaround similar to Huggs/Martin?

Billy could be dangerous given a few one-and-dones.

KSU is asking the Board of Regents to amend the FY 2010 Capital Projects List to include a $20 million dollar basketball practice/operations facility AND . . . $2.1 million dollars in new restrooms for the upper level of OBFS.  2 Practice courts, all new offices for both men and women, dressing rooms, sports medicine/hydrotherapy, lounges etc. etc.   If they spend the entirety of the $20 million on this facility it will be one of the nicest facilities of its kind in the country.

Please note that this doesn't ALWAYS mean it will happen in the FY that they amend, but in most cases it does happen.

I know the question:

"How do we help resign Frank"?

sadler has two more years, min.  wouldn't surprise me at all if he makes the tourney before his time is up.

also, keep in mind, he already has two nit appearances in four years.  if he gets one or two more (3-4 in 6 years) he might/probably will get another year.  really, he's way out in front of mcdermott, bzey and knight in terms of keeping his job.

Knight has his kids ranked.

You guys planning on dating her or something?

No.......because of the two-face thing

I bet she knows about the two-face thing too.  You know what that means?  Insecurity.

A guy may play his cards right and catch the hot face on an insecure day.  Could make for a very good day for said guy.

May be worth the time and energy.

Billy doesn't have enough "do it the right way" for Cornhole fans.

How long until the Corn get sick of results of doing it the right way?

This guy says it could be the Big East.
http://www.lex18.com/news/is-a-big-east-school-interested-in-gillisipie-

I was kinda hoping it would be NU since he has been in the stands a few times this year.  Last time he was shown, I thought I remember the commentator mentioning that he has ties to the Ath Dept or some assist coach.

Doc at 1-10 in conf so far could make it easy for Osborn to make a change if someone good was available.

Thoughts?

If not NU, where?

we'll see a "0" in the rafters one day. just don't embarrass Jake by doing it before he leaves like they did with lenning

fwiw i hope they put a beard on the bottom of the 0 when they make jake's banner

No doubt.  Let the kid's career run it's course before putting the banner up.  How bad does Lenning feel now?

Thinking about jumping ship from the NCAA, think of all the structure a new affiliation would have to create.  Most rules about amateur athletes, payments, recruiting methods, eligibility, transfers, etc are set by the NCAA, I assume.

All that is up for redefinition if the super conferences form and leave the NCAA.  Could create major changes in how things are done.

Think of: no rules!   :excited:  :doom:

A new establishment may allow what is now deemed slimy.  Could create spectacular sports.  Could also guarantee that those left out would immediately get worse.  Lots of programs would be crippled.

I like the way this guy thinks

Haverhill is not going to like this.

Might be good for the little fella.  ISU could rule the NCAA once these other teams moved to a different organization.

Haver, just picture this.  ISU, NCAA champs.

Corn got jobbed a little. It happens.

Later, after the T, SLTH extrodinaire pointed to a ref and told him "do your job". A little bit latter, after we called time when not getting the ball inbounded, he pointed to a ref and held up five fingers at him until his team walked to the bench.

I love that guy.

I do think that he is about to lose it. Gotta be tough. Used to be able to rely on getting a fair shake somewhere in this conf. Now, Frank has taken that away. The poor bastard is on an island.
