@Dave_Matter: RT @cdtsports: Ernie Nestor to leave #Mizzou basketball staff, expected to be named assistant coach at #Navy

Judging by the team's twitter last season, Nestor was a big deal.  Kim especially seemed to love Nestor.  He had a running Nestor Quotes twitter thing for a while last offseason.

Haith in troubs?

Also, LOL at a them losing someone to Navy for the same position.

I remember having this discussion last year, but I couldn't find it in my 30 seconds of searching, don't remember the advice given, and am actually ready to pull the trigger this year.

Which should I get and why?  if it helps, live in NE KS, follow the Wild Wild Cats, listen to sports radio a lot but hate the crap out of baseball's face, listen to talk radio(non sports) quite a bit too, and also want a good selection of pretty much all kinds of music as well.

thoughts from those who know about such stuff?

TIA.

Really is amazing what he has been able to do with this group.

Say that we win out.  He gets another 20 win season, another really good seed in the NCAA's, and a couple wins over top 10 teams.....all the while having a lot of youth as first 7 contributors and a bunch of role players.

His best coaching job yet?  I think yes.

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / Jamar in the record books?

When he got his 3rd foul, Mitch said that Jamar has more career fouls than any other Wildcat ever.

Anyone confirm?

Fantastic stat to hold if true.  There should be a compilation vid of his top 10 on senior night.

Essentially Flyertalk / Bluetooth headphones question
« on: January 18, 2012, 02:49:33 PM »
Here's the set up:

I have a Pioneer tuner for my home theater set up.  Doesn't have bluetooth.

I have really nice earbuds I use for working out.  Also, are not bluetooth.

I want to start watching DVD's and Netflix while running on the treadmill.

Anyone know of a product/combo of products that I can use to create a bluetooth/remote pairing here?  I have found two-way bluetooth gateways for sale, but they seem to work as broadcasting to headphones that are already bluetooth compatible, or to streaming music from a bluetooth enabled MP3 player/device.  I haven't found anything that would address the headphone end of the connection.  I don't want to go buy actual home theater bluetooth headphones because I don't want to wear bulky headphones on the treadmill and don't want to ruin them by sweating my ass off into them.

Anyone know of a solution on the headphone side?  Some sort of gateway device for that end?

Loves us.  Has been fantastic this tourny.

Loved where he used a fake voice to make fun of refs for the Jamar "Elbow".

"Look guys, we blew the call. Just nod your heads and we're gonna shoot some free throws"

(CNN) -- Iran plans to send ships near the Atlantic coast of the United States, state-run Islamic Republic News Agency reported Tuesday, quoting a commander.

"The Navy of the Iranian Army will have a powerful presence near the United States borders," read the headline of the story, in Farsi.

"Commander of the Navy of the Army of the Islamic Republic of Iran broke the news about the plans for the presence of this force in the Atlantic Ocean and said that the same way that the world arrogant power is present near our marine borders, we, with the help of our sailors who follow the concept of the supreme jurisprudence, shall also establish a powerful presence near the marine borders of the United States," the story said. The reference to the "world arrogant power" was presumably intended to refer to the United States.

The International Clean Energy Analysis (ICEA) gateway estimates that the U.S. possesses 2.2 million km2 of high wind potential (Class 3-7 winds) — about 850,000 square miles of land that could yield high levels of wind energy. This makes the U.S. something of a Saudi Arabia for wind energy, ranked third in the world for total wind energy potential.

Let's say we developed just 20 percent of those wind resources — 170,000 square miles (440,000 km2) or an area roughly 1/4 the size of Alaska — we could produce a whopping 8.7 billion megawatt hours of electricity each year (based on a theoretical conversion of six 1.5 MW turbines per km2 and an average output of 25 percent. (1.5 MW x 365 days x 24 hrs x 25% = 3,285 MWh's).

The United States uses about 26.6 billion MWh's, so at the above rate we could satisfy a full one-third of our total annual energy needs. (Of course, this assumes the concurrent deployment of a nationwide Smart Grid that could store and disburse the variable sources of wind power as needed using a variety of technologies — gas or coal peaking, utility scale storage via batteries or fly-wheels, etc).

Now what if a breakthrough came along that potentially tripled the energy output of those turbines? You see where I'm going. We could in theory supply the TOTAL annual energy needs of the U.S. simply by exploiting 20 percent of our available wind resources.
