I must be dead inside. I visited the Grand Canyon with my wife during our Fiesta Bowl trip of 2013, and I thought it was neat, but didn’t exactly have a spiritual moment. I’m in the path today and will be jacked up for my son, but not overly excited in all honesty. Should I look into prozac?
Oh man, you and I are similar. We have friends that love to road trip and go see all of this stuff. Grand Canyon, Mount Rushmore, etc. All I ever think about is being in a car for like 12 hours and pulling up to Mount Rushmore, getting out, looking at it for like 30 seconds, and then getting back in the car going "well that was pretty neat". Same with a giant hole in the ground. Not my jam.
The skies have cleared up for me. Will be heading up to the deck to enjoy mimosas and tacos soon.
Am I weird that I couldn't care less? I saw it in 2017, fine neat, no desire to worry about "seeing" it today.Having this attitude makes me think you really didn’t “see” it. Because anyone who has actually witnessed totality would 100% want to see it again, especially twice the duration.
anyone else lombardiing?
Lucas made a comment at some point recently about not wanting the East Village location because the Royals planned to build some kind of entertainment district adjacent to it. His point was that a new entertainment district would cannibalize some of the $$$ from Power and Light because they'd only be a few blocks away (separated by the interstate, but still not too far away). Given that Power and Light hasn't come close to revenue projections and the city has already spent $150+ million covering its debts, his point is understandable.
And, Sherman referencing the "creative" people at the city convincing them that the Crossroads was viable probably includes Lucas because the odds of this passing if Lucas wasn't in favor would have been even worse.
Regardless, there will probably need to be some major adjustments to the East Village plan for Lucas to get onboard.
I still always get CCQ as an app and a side CCQ with my sammich at Rockabelly. Pretty sure they use cream of mushroom or something like that for theirs.
As a Kansan now Missouri resident I couldn't care less where the chiefs are. They need space so whoever gives them the best deal in the metro.
While fairly unfeasible my dream has been to have half the stadium in KS and half in MO and the 50 yard line be the state line. Would be pretty impractical and make for some weird ass law stuff but it'd be a perfect reflection of KC weird situation.
I love this idea actually. Could build it just north of I35 and you would be walking distance from all the restaurants and stuff on Southwest Blvd. Could you imagine getting paked off of margs at Ponaks and just walk over to the game
Mayor Q just said its probably best if the teams split. Makes you wonder if this was maybe the plan all along.
clams nailed it. The royals only needed to get like a C- on the exam to pass, and they slept through the alarm clock instead
Was "yes" to keep the stadiums where they are, or was "yes" to move them to downtown?
that picture scares the ever living crap out of me.
Why Phil?
