OU's will be recognized as good at the end of the year!

Unfortunately there's no real recognition for being bad. Other than coaching changes which we desperately need.

I don't see a bowl game this year. Maybe one more win but that's about it.

Listen Coach Snyder, you didn't say anything about my boy being tackled when we signed up for this education.

No and you missed my point like Helen Keller. What he was not told was that his son would get abused and that's what it was. Plain and simple. You want to talk about team and family, then you don't send one of your own into a game knowing that he's hurt the point of being detrimental to the team and that your offense puts him in the position of aggravating an already existing medical condition.

and if the players are being allowed to say when they go back in when they're injured, then the inmates are truly running the asylum and this entire staff needs to be gone. If for no other reason than the protection of the school.

I don't really care about which of the two QBs except that the staff, including the HC, don't do to him or them like they've done to both Ertz and CK - let him/them stay in a game long after they should have been benched because they're too beat to s*it.

If I were Ertz's father, I'd seriously consider having a sit down with LCHCBS and the OC and asking "WTF were you thinking? My son is supposed to have a future that doesn't involve a knee or shoulder replacement by the time he's 30 or a walker by the time he's 50" and don't give me that "he signed up for it" BS. He signed up for an education not abuse.

Starting Ertz and in particular allowing him back in the game was both stupid (not dumb but stupid) and puts us on par with those schools (NU anyone) that just chew up their athletes and spit them out when their done with them.

Doesn't matter what time k.o. is, Hooters or Wing House wings (bone-in of course), reasonably decent cigars and Sam Adams by the chilled pint glass. A good looking woman sitting across from or next to you wearing a size too small, low cut, purple as h*ll KSU game-day t-shirt just about makes it perfect.

If you put anything but ice in bourbon, switch to H2O or soda as you're wasting someone else's hard work. Next thing you know you'll be putting steak sauce on steak and ketchup on your eggs. That's why this country's going to H in a HB, damn it!

Agree, and would make this a total analog to the 2013 season.  Beating another big name program that hasn't done anything good lately.

If this game were to happen and we actually lose, wouldn't it be akin to the proverbial tree falling in the woods?

Get some for me. I'll be watching, ceegar on one hand, Sami's Ocktoberfest in the other and yelling from here in beautiful FLA.

Guys, this is a thread to be depressed about the game this weekend, not to be depressed about our future coach.

I'm not depressed about either. I fully expect that Cats to win and win decisively this weekend but will be supremely pissed if I witness another player and coaching performance like I've seen over the last two games.

If that happens, I'll be once again calling for this to be HCBS Snyder's last season and that his son doesn't need to come anywhere near the next team.

When we win, I'll be very happy but I still think a 77-year old man needs to retire, particularly one with health concerns like his. His wife has put up with enough from him (that is not a criticism of him or his work ethic. Just saying) over the years, stood by him throughout and I think he should step back and in some respects, think of her and his family as opposed to KSU and football. We can live without him. His family probably doesn't want to think about that same prospect.

If I have to suffer through another 6 loss season, getting to go to a bowl game that's about an hour away from home and watching the Cats isn't a bad consolation. Besides, beat the h*ll out of Shreveport, another trip to San Diego or San Antonio and definitely better than playing in downtown NYC!

I'd much prefer more wins and a better bowl though.

I've changed my mind. I'm liking Leavitt more and more each day.

I have not changed my mind that Sean Snyder has no business succeeding his father as HC of KSU. He's done nothing to add to his resume that would qualify him for a HC position. If he (and his Dad) wanted it that bad, he/they should have sent him somewhere to get that requisite experience. Not being named OC or DC at KSU at some point, to me, speaks volumes about Sean's HC potential and it ain't good.

sorry scott i was bored
Camping World Bowl

Camping World Stadium, Orlando, Florida
Dec. 28, 5:15 p.m. (ESPN)

Bonagura: Notre Dame vs. Texas
Hale: NC State vs. Kansas State
Texas Bowl

NRG Stadium, Houston
Dec. 27, 9 p.m. (ESPN)

Bonagura: Kansas State vs. Texas A&M   :Yuck: :Yuck: :Yuck:

cbs-Camping World Bowl   Dec. 28   Orlando, Fla.   ACC vs. Big 12   Virginia Tech vs. Kansas State

After watching these last two games, I'm thinking we'd get beaten badly going up against either Va Tech or FSU and I shudder at how few people would actually watch an NC State vs KSU game. We'd probably beat them but my God it would be boring.

Conversely, if we're capable of beating either of the two aforementioned teams by the end of the season, we'll probably end up in a much better bowl game and face much tougher opponents. I'll take that scenario all day long.

I'm not saying Vandy sucks but they are a mid-level Big 12 team on their best day.

Then so are we

Which is why there needs to be a change, because we should not be a mid level program. There are plenty of things that need to change after last night, but coaching happens to be one of them.

Neither Vandy or K-State are mid level programs, goodness gracious. K-State is a top 25 program and Vandy, under Mason, seems to be headed there.

Please tell my how we are not a mid-level program. We've won exactly 1 Big XII Conference Championship in our history, shared another (which was also our last one and 5 years ago), have a decidedly losing bowl record (I believe it's somewhere around 8-12), won exactly 0 Big 8 Conference Championships and are one of only four other schools that can lay claim to over 600 losses.

We periodically are nationally ranked but have been ranked #1 just twice with no major bowl wins and 0 National Championships.

We are never (and if I recall correctly this includes the DoD of the '90s) ranked consistently either during a season or more importantly from the conclusion of a season and then again at the start of the next season.

Yes, we strung together an impressive run of 9+ wins seasons during the 1990's but that's almost 20 years ago and since then we've struggled to do the same or build any type of sustainable continuity. It's always up or down, have a good/great season and then seemingly start over.

I think we can do much, much better. We have the facilities, the money, the fan support and the schools administrative support. IMO, what we lack is some vision in the football program and a unwillingness to accept a certain level of mediocrity and follow through with fixing that.

Dude dimel is working with what he has.   He is working with less talent than some jucos.

That may be true. I don't really know but I do know that when they absolutely stack the box almost the entire game and we continue to run QB draws, sweeps and throw almost nothing but deep balls, we're also being outcoached and not maximizing what talent we do have. Play to your strengths not weaknesses and give your playes at least a fighting chance to win.

We threw to the TE what once and I don't recall a single screen or short route to either the outside or even across the middle.

I'll say this now, if HCBS can't light a fire under Dimel's a** and get a better product out of him, it's time for at least one of them to go. We've given them the facilities, the administration's support, the money and a fan base that's second to none. We all deserve a better product and effort than what was presented tonight.

Unless mediocrity is an acceptable endstate.

I for one am very tired of this.

I have a better idea (as should be expected of a very, very successful Vanderbilt...VANDERBILT graduate that has lots, and lots, and lots of money).

Perhaps, after our tremendous victory over a barely-ranked (but rather rank) opponent, we meet in the parking lot outside of Dudley Field.  Your ilk can take turns in fisticuffs with my manservant, Andrew.  Be forewarned, he is most skilled.

My Ladies and I will observe, in comfort, while sipping Krug Clos d'Ambonnay (a favorite).  You see, I am no limousine Liberal (although I do have several limousines)--I am a staunch right-wing Conservative.

I'm not afraid to throw-down.

Most Sincerely,

A very, very successful Vanderbilt...VANDERBILT graduate that has lots, and lots, and lots of money.

NC you silly, silly man.

How about instead of your idea, I throw this fact out there for your perusal and consideration. I kick the dog crap out of Andy boy, take another swig of my PBR (long-neck of course and vintage '17) and walk off onto 2nd Ave with your "ladies" in tow.

FWIW. I'd have said "KYITN" but I seriously doubt you possess a pair. Unless of course you consider undescended as factually having a pair.

i know we like to joke around a lot on this board, but something that is very troubling to me, and i can't imagine i'm alone here, is the chains on the vandy helmets. i mean we're talking about an unashamed stars and bars slave state forcing black student athletes to have chains on their heads. very disturbing to me. does anyone from vandy honestly think that's ok?

This bothers me too.

You just might be alone.

You do realize that Cornelius Vanderbilt was from New York and contributed significantly to the Union war effort during the Civil War? The chain you reference might actually represent an anchor chain (hence also the "Deep Water" reference). As in pertaining to a ship, boat or other watercraft, which the Commodore was known for and made at least his initial fortune from.

Just because someone drank from it when you weren't looking, doesn't mean the glass in necessarily half empty.

Let's get them to post here

Whoa there.  I am the designated tuck of this board.  If you invite others over the quality of this board will decline greatly.

Someone has to draw the line here. :nono:

From what I've seen and read here, it would probably improve the quality. Exponentially too (FYI. That means by a great deal).
