also would like to address k-s-u's bullshit anecdote about his 180k friend being taxed 50 percent in income tax.

directly from the aus gov site:
$180,001 and over       $54,547 plus 45c for each $1 over $180,000  (higher for foreign residents)
that's 30.3% for 180k.
+1.5% medicare levy (being raised to 2%)

according to wiki, there are no province or city income taxes.  it looks like 50 percent income tax is literally impossible to reach.

sidenote: the entire tax structure of Australia, at a quick read though, looks very interesting, and pretty fair.

my stance on taxes wouldn't change one bit if i were one of the lucky few to be "rich".  one of the problems though, is "rich" is defined way too low as far as tax brackets are concerned.

First off let me say I have been disheartened by what has transpired so far in kstate's season, but a large majority of you on this message board are acting like spoiled children in complaining about play calls and who is and isn't playing and I have even seen multiple posters hinting it is time for Snyder to leave...yes we have been spoiled the last couple seasons,but we had senior leadership and players with experience, this was going to be a step back this year I still expect us to get a bowl game with a record aroun 7-5 if and with those extra practices and what we return for next year wr should be able to back near the top of the conference...also just remember wher we were under prince just 5 years ago, we are not in bad shape we are just a young team that is learning so be patient

That's not really that much money. Anyone that puts in the necessary time and effort can make that after a few years, but not as many people are willing to do it. This is why people that work hard enough to achieve it don't like giving money to a government that isn't interested in stopping fraud or waste.

hey, do you guys remember back when baseball and basketball were the top sports in america, and ksu was super awesome in those, and then sometime in the early 90's we were like "hey, i think we'll try our hand at this football thing" and then like a few years later ksu was super awesome at that and the success of america's team turned football into a bigger sport than baseball and basketball combined and now it makes like kagillions of dollars a year?

man, ksu is the high tide raising all the other bcs boats.  not real sure why ku's boat seems to have a hole in it tho.
