Essentially Flyertalk / Do you have any KU or MU friends?
« on: January 23, 2013, 06:30:12 PM »
I have some MU friends but I literally don't have one KU friend.  It has nothing to do with sports and everything to do with the fact I have nothing in common with KU Fan Man.

I keep seeing "My KU friends posted such and such on FB", "My KU Brother in law said this", etc and it made me reflect- I have NO friends that have any association with that place.

Where did you guys meet your KU fan friends?  What do you talk about with them?  New french fry oil?

Personally, I'm a backwards seat guy.  Not sure why, but it's kinda cool to watch out the window at the stuff you've already gone by, kinda like time travel maybe??  who knows.   :driving: <---but sitting backwards with no wheel or gearshifter.

Compliance Matters
We remind you again that with high visibility and excitement comes potential vulnerability and pitfalls. Please remember to call or email our compliance staff anytime you have NCAA related questions. Remember that it is generally not permissible for staff members and fans to send gifts, buy meals or drinks, though small and well-intentioned, for our student-athletes or their families. Let's all be vigilant and "ask before we act" to avoid accidently endangering a student-athlete's eligibility.

Kansas State Football / TCU Blackout?
« on: November 06, 2012, 11:24:43 AM »
I know it's texas, but I really thought we (as a country) had moved past keeping black people from attending sporting events.   Really hope the conference looks into this because I'm very concerned about how kansas state will be tied to this offensive campaign.

With all the new members posting right away, it made me wonder how long everyone lurked here before posting.

For me, i found the site after the miami game last year, and held out posting until pigaggies.  So like 2.5-3 months.

Why is this game not on tv?

I'm a very picky eater so this list could go on forever with me, so I'll just start with top two.

1.  Beer.  I can't stand beer, but it's so deep into social interactions that it makes me wish I liked it instead of being the nerd that doesn't like beer.

2.  Ranch dressing.  It's so disgusting that I can barely be next to someone eating it on a salad, but people seem to love it so I wish I liked it.

Kansas State Football / KU HCCW "Women have no place in sports"

KU coach Charlie Weis put out an APB on Tuesday for anyone in Lawrence with the leg to kick a football 70 yards.
Quote
Out of 30,000 people at this school, there's got to be somebody that can kick the ball off out of the end zone," Weis said. "Maybe it's one of the guys we currently have. We'll have to see. Whoever that person is, where ever they are, we're going to find them."
Ron Doherty is slated to handle punting and kicking duties for the Jayhawks, and he might have the most job security of anybody in camp, Weis said.
Weis wants to avoid wearing out Doherty's leg, though, so he's auditioning candidates to handle kickoff duties. He's also willing to get creative in his search for the strongest leg.
"I'm working every angle I can to try to find that answer," Weis said. "We're talking to the rugby club, we're talking to the soccer club, the guys that practice against the women."
Weis has his limits, though, which would include recruiting someone from KU's women's soccer team.
"I don't think I'd tread that water," he said.
The good news: Touchbacks will be easier to achieve this season, with kickoffs moving up to the 35-yard line.

i know we have all have become "used" to the racism coming out of lawrence, but now we find out there is institutional discrimination of females as well.  it's so open that they even talk to the newspaper people about it!

really wondering when the NCAA is going to step in with this pile of trash school.
