Dear Kansas City sports media....Please F-ing STOP...
Fescue this morning was the latest one..."With what we know now, did Missouri make the right decision to go to the SEC..."

What is going on now, wouldn't be going on now, if Missouri and A&M didn't leave for the SEC in the first place. The only reason the Big 12 has any credibility at all right now is because the SEC, and Slive in particular, is giving it to them. The Big 12 can go ahead and get FSU and ND and become the second best football conference in America behind the SEC. WE DON'T CARE!!! The Big 12 can implode and be split up into the Pac, the ACC, and the Moutain West. WE DON'T CARE!!! Missouri's move to the SEC was the right thing to do at the time, it is right move now, and it will be the right move 20 years from now. MISSOURI IS IN THE SEC! WE ARE GLAD WE ARE IN THE SEC! WE AREN'T LEAVING THE SEC! GET OVER IT ALREADY!!

are all the other Big 12 coaches knowing that we didn't roll the dice on Gottlieb.  Now they are all praising the two-easy-wins-a-season-Weber hire.

Pretty excited about Nike taking over Reebok.

Nike President Charlie Denson:
Quote
We plan on changing the NFL jersey dramatically, just like we've done with the college programs, using new thinking and the greatest technology available. The NFL program hasn't had the same type of advancement in recent years.

Why some players might change their numbers:
Quote
In past years, a player-initiated number change would have been met with a requirement that the player refund Reebok for the existing inventory of jerseys with the number he wants to abandon.  With the new Nike jerseys coming soon, there’s a chance that it will be open season for the shifting of numbers.

These are probably fake...but just gets me excited:

Saul,

Why is it every time I put www.goEMAW.com into my browser that it brings up "Hawk Host" page.  The only way I can actually get to the site is if I Google "goEMAW.com" and click the link.  That takes me to the front page of goEMAW.com with a Cache warning up top and the old look.  Then when I click Message Boards it brings up the new format.  Do I need to delete my cookies or something?

Thanks,

WCNK

Anyone have wives obsessed with this?  I joined to keep ideas for landscaping and garage organization.  Mrs. Kilt uses it for decorating ideas.  Thoughts?  How quick will this website fade away?

I have a lot of people re-pin my stuff.  Makes me feel like I have good taste.

Kansas State, for the third consecutive season, is hosting a spring quarterback battle.

For now, it looks like the order is shaking out.

Collin Klein, who played extensively last season, sits as the team's starter. Sammuel Lamur would be his backup and Boston College transfer Justin Tuggle is currently at No. 3.

"That's the pecking order," Snyder said, according to the Kansas City Star.

Klein worked mostly as a runner last season, running 76 times for 432 yards and six scores. He threw just 18 passes in 10 appearances, completing 11 for for 138 yards, a touchdown and no interceptions.

He's already proven himself as a runner and more than proficient in the zone-read game. Klein was at the helm when the Wildcats ran up a 39-0 lead over Texas this past season, following up that 127-yard rushing performance with 141 yards in a loss to Missouri the following week.

For Klein, the task is proving he can be a reliable passer. It's hard to see him not improving as a junior in 2011, but he'll need to be a lot better if the Wildcats are going to be a threat to more than a few teams in the Big 12.

"They’re all battling, and the battle will continue," Snyder said.

I'd rather have a 6-seed than what we currently have now.  But if you guys would rather bitch about us losing this and having to play the likes of St. John's and Ohio St. then by all means meltdown.  This will give us the best chance for any tourney run without winning the Phillips 66 for a 4 seed.

NEW YORK -- Tiki Barber has alerted the NFL that he plans to come out of retirement and play in the 2011 season, sources close to the former New York Giants running back said Tuesday.

The agency that represents Barber confirmed the news on its Twitter account.

The Giants acknowledged on Tuesday that Barber has asked to be taken off the reserve-retirement list and that they will release him once the league allows it. Teams cannot make roster moves during the current extension of the CBA talks.

The 35-year-old back, who turns 36 in April, retired in 2007. He played 10 seasons, all for the Giants, finishing his career as the franchise's all-time leading rusher.

After retiring, Barber was hired by NBC to be a correspondent on The Today Show and Football Night In America. He made headlines for being critical of the motivational style of his former coach, Tom Coughlin, and scoffed at former teammate Eli Manning's leadership abilities. The Giants went on to win the Super Bowl in the first season after Barber's retirement.

Barber's personal and professional life have been in shambles recently. In April 2010, Barber reportedly left his wife of 11 years, Ginny, for 23-year-old Traci Johnson, a former NBC intern. Ginny was eight months pregnant at the time. Soon after, NBC cited its morals clause and terminated Barber's contract, which reportedly paid him more than $300,000 per year.

In June 2010, the New York Post reported Barber was broke and couldn't pay his divorce settlement with his ex-wife.

Barber was booed by fans this past season when Giants unveiled their ring of honor in their new $1.6 billion stadium.

Barber's twin brother, Ronde, recently signed a one-year extension with the Buccaneers, where he's been a safety for 14 seasons.

Jerome Tang Coaches Kansas State Basketball / Butt-hurt over DVD

So Nick Wright has been calling out KU fans on 610 for being whiners about the game and rushing the court.  Then he got into the conversation about the DVD.  Nick didn't mind the DVD but KU fans were calling in bitching about it.  Bob Fescoe comes on and calls us immature for selling the DVD.

I could care less about the DVD.  Shirt-tucks love it so whatever.  I LOVE listening to KU fans bitch about something that doesn't affect them at all.

Essentially Flyertalk / Mind or Body?
« on: January 27, 2011, 11:03:42 AM »
Which would you rather have happen when you get old?

1)  Good mind, bad body.  You are coherent and can hold conversations as an old fart, but your body is so brittle and uncontrollable you suffer just getting in and out of bed at night.  You also can't control your bladder and are required to wear depends.

or

2)  Good body, bad mind.  You are overall in good shape physically.  You can move around without a walker/cane/wheelchair.  Your mind however is gone.  You have Alzheimer's or the likes.  People think you're crazy.
