no "good bye" graphic from ward.

Then I can't respect his decision.

Makes me respect it more.

I don't expect a ton of loyalty out of a dude that was here for one season.  Good player though, wish him the best.

Would playing in the bowl game affect his remaining eligibility?

I've heard the same question several times about Nico at Tennessee and all of those articles said bowl games don't count towards this year's eligibility.  No idea if that's true or not but these were all major outlets like ESPN,etc.

Bummer about Ward. Seemed to pair nicely with AJ. Also a nice 1-2 punch w Giddens.

Seems like he got less touches as the season went on.

Does he prefer Buddy?  I noticed the radio guys call him that.

If Rupee gets that 2nd TikTok follower he’s going to be unstoppable

I personally would round 1.9 up to 2.  Seems like the nice thing to do.

Maybe not the worst sign for recruiting that people are skeptical about a transfer who went to Florida out of high school.

Yeah, but he barely played there and transferred to Samford.  Still, probably better than last minute pickups we've had in the past.

So, no news on any commits?

Tang was supposed to be the featured speaker at the Wichita Sports Award banquet but had to cancel due to some important recruiting opportunity..

While it was disappointing to miss on some early transfer targets, this is a great pickup and seems to fit well.

I've read a few articles that said Tang was waiting on certain guys that had declared for the draft to make their decision on returning to school.

Heard Malagi did the scouting for this game.  Kinda nice to have that kind of insider on our bench.

2011 was underrated as hell

I think it would be a lot more fondly remembered if we could have won that shootout at OSU. If memory serves it was on at the same time as bama/LSU which I think the total combined score for that game was like 12. And we could have won but tlbl got his kidney lacerated trying to catch the game winning TD in the back of the endzone

Pretty sure he caught a TD being lacerated, it was sometime in the 3rd quarter IIRC

I just moved lacerated kidney higher on my list of things I hope like hell never happen to me.  That sounds terrifying.

6 sounds pretty good.  Much better than 4.3 or whatever was reported.

I know we just extended Kleiman but can we amend that to allow for a higher salary?  Doesn't seem like the extension would keep him here when other schools come calling...

 Sam Shields looks like a unit!

Look at the legs on that guy.  Like the complete opposite of Matt Boss?  I think he was the dude that some guy said had deer ankles.

I love people that live in a world where nobody ever improves from their first year right out of high school as an 18 year-old kid with a dysfunctional locker room during the Covid season.  Shaking my dang SMDH

Ok but he wasn't really any better last year, and we were told he was the best backup qb in America.
Yes, I agree, Will hasn’t exactly lit it on fire in his first two years.  I think everybody agrees that Avery Johnson is the heir apparent after this year. We are banking on major improvement from Adrian Martinez over last year and we are banking on Avery Johnson coming in and being a D1 power five starting quarterback as a true freshman.  Will Howard needs to be a serviceable back up QB this year and unless everybody can guarantee that Avery Johnson will be who we think he is as a true freshman, it would be nice to have a Will Howard with 4 years in the system in 2023 in case Avery Johnson needs a development year.  It’s going to be very difficult to recruit a Class of 24 quarterback or to get someone out of the portal with Avery Johnson on the roster. I see no purpose in dragging Will Howard. The kid is by all accounts a good locker room guy and was highly thought of out of high school. With Chris Klieman’s track record identifying & developing NFL quarterbacks, I think I would give him the benefit of the doubt on this one.  But by all means, if it makes people feel good bagging on Will Howard every chance they get, knock yourselves out.

We could always get some senior QB to transfer in to battle it out with Howard to see who gets to keep Averys seat warm for a year.

If you're a person that has a financial stake in an NIL deal with a player, wouldn't you not want them to play their final season of high school ball?  Imagine how Henry Walkers life would have been different if he had signed an NIL to play at the school of his choice not played his final season of highschool.
